La La Land will sweep the noms, as it should.
What I want to win/what will win:
Best Picture: Moonlight, La La Land
Best Director: La La Land, La La Land
Best Actress: Amy Adams (Arrival), Natalie Portman (Jackie)
Best Actor: Dev Patel (Lion), Denzel Washington (Fences)
Best Supporting Actress: Kirsten Dunst (Midnight Special), Viola Davis (Fences)
Best Supporting Actor: Mahershala Ali (Moonlight), Mahershala Ali (Moonlight)
Best actor is obviously going for Casey Affleck
Hunt for the Wilderpeople will surprise some niggas
just wait and see
you fools are forgetting that the Oscar official fucks literally stated that they will begin making it about diversity over quality from now on. last years Oscars were the last legit ones.
Hidden Figures will get multiple nods
la la land will be nominated for everything
I just hope Emma Stone gets her Oscar.
>implying
If Coonlight wins its well deserved, the movie is fuckign great
still haven't seen manchester
Or jackie for that matter, but you just know
it doesnt have to win, but if Deadpool got nominated...
But she wouldn't deserve it this year. Portman and Huppert were much better in 2016.
do they have best comedy or some shit?
if not, it doesn't stand a chance.
...
...the academy awards will lose the last semblance of credibility it had left.
adapted screenplay could be their longshot
la la land isn't getting best picture.
The Academy has been fucking it all up for decades and modern film is a joke
placed a bet that Suicide Squad would sweep it all
This
Maybe Meryl Streep will get a nomination after that speech she just gave at the last one
>Predictions?
Three and a half hours of "Trump is a big meanie" jokes.
Then the winner, which will probably be La La Land, will be a film that most of America doesn't give a fuck about.
spot the trumpflake
Sensing some tender butt hurt here.
>waaah why won't people just shut up and let trump do whatever he wants?? :(
>Trump
this, i dread all the political bullshit that will be spouted by everyone one stage
there even might be a stage crasher like soy bomb guy
can they keep the show to hollywood just blowing themselves all night?
deadpool is up in this bitch
Yep, definitely butt hurt.
Hillary lost, get over it
I'm not the Sup Forums dick waver who burst into this thread and started defending drumpf against nothing in particular.
Stop being so DIVISIVE, user.
sad.
I agree.
Extremely butt hurt.
Best Picture: Anybody's guess at this point
Best Director: DennisVillenueve, Arrival
Best Actor: Casey Affleck
Best Actress: Natalie Portman or Ruth Negga
Best Supporting Actor: Mashershasha Ali
Best Supporting Actress: A black woman
Original Screenplay: La La Land
Adapted Screenplay: Moonlight or maybe Tom Ford gay mafia win
Cinematography: Moonlight
who is calling the noms?
Jennifer Hudson, Brie Larson, Emmanuel Lubezki, Jason Reitman and Ken Watanabe will join Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs to reveal the 89th Oscars Nominations.
oscar.go.com
>Jason Reitman
what happened to this guy?
WORST PICTURE
>Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
>Dirty Grandpa
>Gods of Egypt
>Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party
>Independence Day: Resurgence
>Zoolander No. 2
such shit taste
>Razzies
no he isn't black.
oscars have never been about quality in the first place
get your head out of your ass
The quality of films is one of the main factors, even if organically
I actually think Stone is going to win, but I desperately want my waifu to win too.
Stone had like eight monologues in la la land, and not one of them was close to oscar worthy.
are you forgetting that Huppert swept all the awards for best actress already ?
She's getting the Oscar aswell, can't stop her
La La Land is going to win picture, director, probably actress, and a bunch of tech awards. It doesn't deserve most of that (especially actress), and it's going to be boring as hell.
I would be very happy if Huppert of Adams won, but I fear that La La Land hype will lead to average actress Emma winning.
bump
Hell or High Water wins everything
Manchester is well acted, but it's a clusterfuck of a film. I expect Casey to get nominated for it, and maybe the kid for supporting.
No its not, its the best movie out of Hollywood this year besides Moonlight
The Handmaiden should be at least nominated for Best Foreign Language Picture.
It won't, blame south korea since they chosed another film for their selection.
Smart poster
>Ken Watanabe
So Silence has some chances of getting noms?
I sure hope Your Name gets in at the last minute but i dont see it.
Main race of Best Picture is between La La Land and Moonlight. I'd bet on Moonlight. The actors lineup seems pretty sad. Ryan Gosling might win. If the main guy from Moonlight is in the competition he might win as well.
Best Actress award im almost entirely sure it's going to Hupert. Academy likes french, and also veteran "classy" actresses. I'll be bettin on that.
I Daniel Blake is getting in for both Picture and Director.
Maybe The Avengers or Deadpool can get in the last second.
lmao
warcraft should get a nom for best vfx
It wasnt South Korea's nominee.
Still dont get why Aquarius wasnt Brazil's one.
N'or why Sieranevada didnt go through for the shortlist for nominees
La La Land wins everything the Oscars
People cry about white washing
No offense, but you are bad at this. Ryan Gosling is not going to win best actor; Casey Affleck is. I highly doubt any Moonlight actor is going to get nominated for best actor. Huppert could possibly win, but the Oscars almost always give Best Actress to a young hottie over the veteran actresses. Best Actress, starting in 1998: Gwyneth Paltrow, Hillary Swank, Julia Roberts, Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, Hillary Swank, Reese Witherspoon, Helen Mirren, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet, Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Julianne Moore, Brie Larsen.
Out of all of them, Meryl, Mirren, and Julianne Moore were over 40.
I Daniel Blake is not going to be a major contender.
LMAO at Avengers getting a major nomination. Deadpool has an outside, outside shot, and even that is absurd.
>amy adams

I think Moonlight could justifiably win in any of the major categories but I have a feeling La La Land is going to sweep up because Hollywood cant into HoodKino
Do you think Nocturnal Animals will do that well?
Some pudints hear that the voters refused to watch NA
I don't see Annet getting nominated mostly because it recived a such late release, and A24 is focusing the campaing on Moonlight
Guys, Moonlight really doesn't sound interesting to me at all. Is it really that good?
Johnson's Golden Globe win and resulting traction's really what put him in the supporting actor category for me. Not sure if the Academy's gonna put Hugh Grant through over him.
As for Adapted Screenplay, I just foresee a huge backlash against snubbing Hidden Figures because of it -- and if memory serves correctly, members of the writing branch decide the writing nominees.
Yes, it absolutely is. Not sure if it's the best movie up for Oscars but it's pretty close.
no one cares what you want you retarded fucking paedo tripfag
Stop being dumb, redditor. Fitting in takes more effort than hating le bad tripfag
>Some pudints hear that the voters refused to watch NA
why tho
IN HOW MANY BONGS?
put your trip back on faggot
1.5 bongs
>tfw Silence won't get nominated for anything
about 3.5 bongs
Thanks.
They should really make it later in the day
Now you leave me in doubt
You should watch it, I thought it wasnt for me either but was really surprised with how much I liked it.
Technically the movie is brilliant
1:18pm BrtiBro
the stream starts in an hour and 20 might not be any action for a while though
Zoolander 2 should win. That was even more unwatchable than anchorman 2.
It's an exceptional film.
Uses colour way better than La La Land in my opinion.
I'd assume because a lot of people have been calling Nocturnal Animals misogynist
I'll be watching it soon then, thanks m8s
How is it
how
I'd do anything for Mel to win.
A New York Times review calling Blue is the Warmest Color sexist killed that movie's Oscar chances
>caring about this stupid meaningless shit
get a life
I've seen two reasons. The first is that they were mad about the rape and murder of the wife and daughter, and saying that depicting that for the advancement of the story was misogynist. The other was that they viewed Jake Gyllenhaal's being upset about the abortion as "men attempting to control women's bodies"
The irony
Literally what. How? Because the sex scenes were too much? That's not sexist, it's french.
I hate what the world has become
Never ever read the Letterboxd reviews for it. Ever.
You know I have to now
Will "your name" get a nomination? I guess it won't matter in the end because the oscars always give that award to the most popular one (zoo topics in this case)
What's the irony?
For what acting like emma stone once again like she always does? Fuck off you idiot.
It feels like it happens a lot with these small foreign indies though. And Zucchini got Picture (independent), Director and Writing noms at the Annies. But I do think that Your Name's commercial appeal, Directing nom at the Annies and LAFCA win helps it a lot, and they're both fighting for that last spot.
I think it might since they're going to need a new replacement for Miyazaki (he is getting old after all) and Shinkai's works has mainstream appeal.
Oh and before some Sup Forumsutist bitch about how Shinkai can't replace Ghibli, I'm not talking about it in the creative sense, rather purely from the marketing pov where there is a push for him to be the next safe, family friendly Japanese animation that appeals to the west.
