My father was a punk and one of the very first bands I got obsessed with was Death
probably with this one when i was about 12, this seemed pretty disturbing for me back then
my brother told me to listen to Sad Statue by SOAD and Trigger by In Flames
I was 11 I think, and it was the first music that I enjoyed listening to
DEFEND MELODEATH
What's the least soy genre, fellas? I vote first wave Death Metal
NSBM
Even if the music can sometimes be soy, its very nature is the antithesis of what soyboys would be able to enjoy.
the most popular metal subgenre with chads is metalcore
first wave black and protodeath contains no traces of soy
Groove metal
I was actually going to put Groove as my second guess, it's got pure testosterone running through it
OSDM, Deathrash, Goregrind
Basically anything old, extreme and with gruesome lyrics
post ur jackets
dad played me dark fortress 15 years ago
Proge shit like Mastodon, Gojira and Opeth
that's actually sweet
nice one
>battle jacket wearer is a philosophy major
embarrassing
fucking cool jacket
Graduated five years ago to be fair, it was properly properly shit, I just smoked weed the last year of it. History MA now.
saw an iron maiden music video when i was like 12
TOTAL DEATH
what does /metal/ think of Bolzer?
>Bolzer
Demo was forgettable, Aura was brilliant, Soma forgettable, Hero a good change in style, but ultimately only about a 7/10
got obsessed with IM's debut as a young lad, especially "Phantom of the Opera"
>Carnivore
>Mercyful Fate
>Blasphemy
>Sarcofago
>Bathory
>Slayer
Absolutely amazing tier taste
>tfw dont wanna post mine because /meal/ will laugh at me for dead kennedys back patch
thoughts?
Literally this. I got the cd as a christmas gift when I was 10 and it changed me
I like the Dead Kennedys, user
Dead Kennedys is fucking sick dude
maiden past killers = soy
Somewhere In Time and Powerslave are the only Bruce albums worth checking out, but Moonchild is a good opener.
Seventh Son is and Somewhere in Time are so far above the rest of the Bruce albums it's ridiculous but goddamn if those repetitive choruses are the only thing that let it down. If both albums had better choruses they'd be the absolute pinnacle to this day
Why would you worry about that dude? They're one the most universally liked bands out there among both rock/metal/punk plebs and patricians
ITT: non-metal albums listened mostly by metalfags
I VOMIT ON GOD'S CHILD
Literally just because the drummer was once associated with Gorgoroth. I didn't even listen to them until Draugurinn and Forndom played with them and I wanted to see those two. Wardruna are good to be fair, but give me those two any day.
Also just dungeonsynth in general
As much as I think any Swans after the mid 80s is absolute garbage, I always come back to this album
literally all dungeon synth
Metalcore or groove. Basically anything that runs close to actual hardcore punk since hardcore punk and it's sub genres are far manliest than metal. This is why the metal fan base is full of skinny fat losers or fat neckbeards while the hardcore fanbase has more fit people. Also why hardcore shows are far more intense than metal shows it's not even close.
>post-punk band
>their albums are published by Century Media and Metal Blade
meant to post Filth for fuck's sake
DBZ Slipknot AMVs
Someone's back I see.
the REAL swans album
Nah, if anything it's more of a punk or experimental rock fanbase that mostly listens to early Swans. Their repetitive approach doesn't cater to metal's pompousness and just focuses straight on brutality.
Metallica's MoP
punk is also full of literal communists who should be strung up and executed
you wouldn't be one of those would you?
These and pic related
Napalm Death and Godflesh were both influenced by Swans
I am just talking from personal experience idk what you're on about. Hardcore and related stuff, especially beatdown, grind, and Pv tend to have some fit ass dudes that aren't there during metal shows. Metal shows also don't go beyond tame controlled push moshing either.
Swans is the real og when it comes to Industrial music. Cop is a great album
Yes, and Godflesh's "Swans but more metal" approach is unique in the metal genre while Napalm Death's Swans influence barely registers in the music after Scum which itself was barely metal. Neither ends up having early Swans' brutality either. Not to mention that at this point even if we limit to early Swans far more nonmetal has taken influence from that than metal.
Best iron maiden with bruce. Not better than killers.
>Swans
>Og to real industrial music
>Not Throbbing Gristle
What? Outside of posting tired soyboy memes, /metal/ also posts blatantly untrue shit?
Nothing wrong with communism. Nothing at all, read some Lenin sometime.
>Throbbing Gristle
Lay off on the soy, kiddo
I'll try again since Sup Forums derailed me last time:
Post some good RABM.
It doesn't exist you gommie scum
oh this one's really good
electro industrial and industrial metal are different
try r/metal
>Melodic "Death Metal"
kek
>Neither ends up having early Swans' brutality either
I don't know about that. Godflesh's self titled gets near Filth levels on some songs
youtube.com
Not him but they literally created industrial with youtube.com
1991
Throbbing Gristle aren't electro industrial you retard. They are straight up industrial when they did the 70s stuff that predates other industrial. Electro industrial is late 80s/90s dancey stuff. Swans isn't Industrial metal either; they are No Wave in the early incarnation. Hell, I am surprised that Swans hasn't been called soy yet because they don't actually have a riff progression akin to metal. Oh wait, it's because it's hell of a lot more brutal than anything in metal.
Takes a lot more balls to make industrial than it does to make minor key power chord riffs.
Oh course a brainlet like you would like this kind of "music".
stop fucking trying
no such thing exists and your politics are shit
>Sup Forums trying to derail a thread into politics again
fuck off fascist piece of shit
The absolute state of electro-industrial soychildren
>Incapable of comprehending industrial
>calls anyone a brainlet
Cry some more
Dawn Ray'd
you'll regret looking them up
>calls other soyboys when people bitch about right wing stuff on /metal/
>acts like a whiny crybaby when somebody dares post left wing stuff
Seems like you're the one crying that I don't like your white noise garbage :^)
What's brutal about Filth? I never understood this meme.
edgy teeth on album cover
This, it's especially weird since this board has been a /leftypol/ satellite board for a while, I'm surprised any Sup Forumstards still bother posting here, this isn't your board.
I'm not going to sit here and shill out how "brutal" it is I just like it
A manlier state than metal indeed.
You're the one calling music objectively not white noise actual white noise. If anything the insecurity, the crying is coming from you, bruh.
don't reply to me frogposter
More tears please
>electro-industrial manbaby says "bruh"
It's abrasive percussion centered music like all early Swans stuff and uses repetition as a way to portray constantly getting beaten down as a result. This is very different from metal's approach to riffing which is really just pop music but only on guitars, more aggressive, and you call them catchy riffs instead of catchy hooks/melodies.
>Lyrical themes: Strengthening of self and community, Depression, Skyrim
Cop and Public Castration are heavier than Filth. Sup Forums guys just mix up brutal and heavy for some reason
FLEX YOUR MUSCLES
Nice, don't have mine at home right now but the backpatch is Blind Guardian's Somewhere Far Beyond
