Christfags BTFO
>expecting hollyjew kikes to nominate pro christian film
>yet another weaselly nasal youtube "critic"
honestly, if it's not nominated for an oscar, it must be good.
have fun with your fa fa land fag
>all these retards thinking that Silence was going to get nominated
You idiots, it was released after the nominations were decided
You can't nominate a movie you haven't seen
Yes, his retarded career choices since 94 have been proof of this.
This film was more boring than Hugo, a literal tech experiment.

beta cuck BTFO
You have fucking terrible taste you stupid cunt
>christcuck calling other people cucks
t. mahmout allahlalawoula
LMAOing @ this athicuck
>not being Agnostic masterrace
>not being able to decide
>honestly, if it's not nominated for an oscar, it must be good.
This is absolute truth.
I don't. Scorsese does. He has long since stopped making films that people might want to watch knowing his name alone will trick Paramount into funding his phantasmagoria.
I'll give him one thing. He is honest. But after The Age of Innocence he knew he could do no better and has constantly just been filming whatever was the last book he can remember reading.
>implying the identity of god is something humans could ever know
Silence is the best film he's made
>implying total understanding of something is required to dismiss something
Do you also believe in Leprechauns and Unicorns?
>Well I just don't know enough about them to decide.
Silence is easily his best
Christians fear the samurai.
Who pantheism master race here?
But your limiting yourself to this earth, if you asked if I think theres leprechauns and unicorns on earth I would say no, but if you said in the whole entire infinite universe if there is unicorns and leprechauns well gee I dont know! Because we cant know!
>gods sense his son as a messenger
>retards like you still don't believe
The doors of hell are locked from the inside friend
Are you suggesting that since the universe is so big, God is bound to exist?
Make up your mind fag
t. atheist
Silence is easily the worst film he's ever made. A product of a man who has forgotten his purpose. Maybe he thought making this movie would help him rediscover it. He was wrong.
You need to work on your bait.
not bound to exist, but might exist. thats why im agnostic
Scorsese wanted to make this garbage for 30 fucking years? Unbelievable.
I can't claim such a thing exist because not enough information on the matter, but I don't doubt the possibility of a God existing
But the concept of God is such an overwhelming one that you can't live your life in a "maybe" state
Either you believe that there is a Creator judging your every move or you don't
There is no maybe about that
If you act as if you are not being judged, then you don't believe and saying you're "agnostic" is just virtue signalling
Guys, we need to wait until the ultimate authority decides if it is good or not
RLM's Half in the Bag
I can see it now
>why did rodrigues see jesus? why didn't he just apostatize? why was the movie so long and boring?
>not enuff quipz 2/10
I think believing yes or no is a copout. humans want to understand so badly they will jump to conclusions, either for or against the existence of a higher power. I think unfortunately its just not possible to know fully. If you're asking me I think theres probably not a god, but to say for sure either way I think its just your own belief
We haven't turned every stone on earth either, and the leprechauns together with Santa Claus might even live deep under the earth's crust in a cave, you just can't know!
There are many things we can't know for certain, you could even say we can't know anything for certain, but when something is extremely unlikely you have to be a retarded special snowflake not just to say you don't believe it.
what a ridiculous remark
i dont mind the movie, but, boy it could be soo much more
What does that even mean?
It's not like its performance is any different from Last Temptation of Christ or Kundun. Normies like to see ~*~FUN~*~ Scorsese movies about dagos shooting each other and swearing.
Sure you can, if you want to believe that your "creator" is judging you based on your particular rules of social cohesion confined to your particular cultural sensibilities then go on right ahead
That's what you get for casting that ugly faggot Adam Driver.
There are an infinite number of things you don't know about.
The only way to function is not to believe that they exist.
What about a Christmas tree floating around Saturn?
Do you know? Did you check?
You don't live your life half-thinking about that Christmas tree
You decide, no, it doesn't exist, despite having no evidence that it doesn't
Why is God any different?
Why does God get a special "Well, you just don't know" status when if you apply that status to anything else, rational people dismiss that thing from possibly existing
A lot of people live very sad lives and would kill themselves if they didn't believe that all that sadness and suffering will be rewarded by some magical being in the sky.
>He has long since stopped making films that people might want to watch
kill yourself my man
Is that Christmas tree said to be responsible for the wild luck that is consciousness and life?
get out of here with your jew logic pleb
"God" is an idea of a system of judgement that functions to reward those who follow societal codes of conduct (i.e being cucked)
Sure why not
People struggle with question of why there is something instead of nothing.
There has to be a reason because important things have important beginnings, right?
The truth that there is no reason is far less appealing than thinking there is one
It amazes me that people can tell their kids about Santa Claus knowing it to be totally untrue and then believe without doubt the existence of God
...what?
What you attribute creation to is arbitrary
Why is one thing more likely than another?
>What you attribute creation to is arbitrary
why?
Why is one thing more likely than another?
Why do you scoff at the idea of a floating space tree creating life on Earth but not an intangible magic man?
how old are you?
Silence was just too kíno for the Academy to understand
>Agony by agony, Silence imitates the classic films about religious intolerance and spiritual doubt: Father Rodrigues and Father Garupe hide in tall ferns from avenging warlords, evoking Sternberg’s Anatahan (1953); their witnessing of enslavement recollects Mizoguchi’s Sansho the Bailiff (1954); their surprise at the Japanese converts’ devotion recalls Borzage’s The Big Fisherman (1959); Rodrigues’s questioning by a devious old samurai (Issey Ogata) is a twist on Bresson’s Diary of a Country Priest (1951); a recurring Judas figure representing abject mankind brings to mind Buñuel’s Simon of the Desert (1965); an icon of enduring faith references Bertolucci’s The Last Emperor (1987); even Neeson’s appearance unfortunately brings to mind Batman Begins (2005). Yet none of these references ultimately increases our understanding of today’s spiritual and cultural crisis; these scenes are inscrutable, as though a movie buff were citing a mixed-up catechism.
Armond is post-ironic
A true legend
Is the voice of jesus Ciaran Hinds?
This movie sucked
1st off the acting was horrible, plus half the actors are chinese guys doing broken english
2nd the movie has no point, it's just japanese torturing and killing christians. there is no redemption for the christians , they just die
3rd the movies has no plot. guy goes to japan to bring back padre, is captured and tortured, and than becomes japanese priest or watever. fucking stupid
Why do people make posts like this?
someone photoshop this into it
youtube.com
YOU CALLED CHRIST FAG
Wait OP, so you're telling me (((hollywood))), don't like a christian/catholic film...
WHAT A SURPRISE
right? like, why would he discuss the movie instead of shitposting and discussing christianity with fedora sperglords?
>bad opinions masquerading as facile complaints is discussion
This was my first thought. And Scorsese being one of the biggest and most influential American directors of all time but only ever winning one Oscar. It's a shame but whatever, he'll be remembered much more favourably than any other recent Oscar nominated director.
