Sabrina

What the fuck are Archie comics anyway? I've never met anyone that was a fan.

the dark haired rich one

Veronica.

>CW Betty becomes is bipolar and goes schizo when off her meds

I'm gonna go with Ronnie.

marry Betty, keep Veronica as goomah

the one on the right looks like domino presley

wew

when they introduce her on the show, how edgy will the CW make her?

escapist, comfy Americana

...

jug head is such a cuck he doesnt even have sexual urges

if archie is not played by a black man i am not watching

Josie!

Jughead is the original MGTOW

>implying

what the fuck is the audience for this show?

Josie is just a pair of floating CGI eyes?

>mfw girls don't wear nylon seamed stockings anymore

he had urges, he would just rather jack off to nudie mags than deal with real women

That crown really does make him king.

Winner Winner

wtf is his problem

Jughead is my nigga.

Cheryl

>let's take characters that have been PG for 50 years and let's make them have sex and commit murder

Who thought this was a good idea?

depends on the writer

sometimes he's depicted as MGTOW other times he's just plain homosex

These threads seem like they have some serious comfy potential.

Jughead is to smart to be interested in relationships

...

V bby

Considering how successful Chilling Adventures and Afterlife are, it'll probably go well.

this is the gayest comic Ive ever seen

where have you been?

>Camila Mendes

veronica was a latina?

a sexy one

What gun is that supposed to be? Looks like a Hi-Point carbine and an mp40 had a baby.

...

does this new show have the gay blonde kid?

It's a Frank.

>(no pun intended)

What pun?

Hey, the zombie series and Predator crossover were pretty good my dude.

What did they mean by this?

Yeah

sup, /k/

yes, unfortunately

his introduction is the exact point where I dropped the main comics

Role/roll? I guess? I'm reaching.

>big hot dog
>big role
Guessing

Ive never got why two hot girls love some ugly ginger guy so much

He has a huge dong and drives a jalopy

who the fuck is this chuck guy? a black, hot dog referee?

it's wish fulfillment for male readers

anyway the reboot turned him into a total Chad

Wait, they really made an edgy version of Archie? What?

affirmative action character they added in the 70's after the civil rights movement, along with some negress girlfriend, Nancy I think

What was the appeal before then? Honest question.

It's The CW's attempt at Twin Peaks as a teen drama using Archie characters.

Were you afraid that seeing an openly gay comic character would bring out your gay side?

Where have yoyu been?

Yuck

>Camila Mendes
>veronica was a latina?

Get with the program, it's all about DIVERSITY, it's incredible that Betty is still a blonde, but Veronica is now a mexican, and Archie looks like a latino with the worst hair-dye ever...

As someone earlier in the thread pointed out, comfy Americana. Easy, fun reading if you're a kid.

Anyone know the song they use in the promos?

Couldn't they have just left Josie white and introduced the other two Pussycats, one of whom is already black?

shes brazilian you asshole

no, it was just the last straw of years of the comics trying to stay relevant following a steady decline after the death of Frank Doyle

>read our comics Gen Y, please!

They're all black now, it's a riff on Destiny's Child.

>take Valerie
>rename her "Josie"

What DID they mean by this?

For some reason my Swedish youth center had a big box full of archie magazines, now that I think back on it that's kind of weird. We also had tons of transformers albums

Sweden being influenced by American culture isn't that weird, is it?

but i've also never met any other swede who has read them, and who donated a whole box to a youth center?

escapism

Take me as a kid, unpopular, bullied at school and hated my home life. I could pick up an Archie comic and be taken away to Riverdale, where everyone is friendly, the gang is getting into all sorts of wholesome hijinks, and everything turns out all right in the end. The nuclear family is still going strong and it's a small town untouched by the decline of western culture. It's like it's still the 1950's except for new fashions and technology

>its canon that Jughead is asexual

>Main Cast

> Archie Andrews: "An intense, conflicted teen, a boyish high school sophomore who got pumped up over the summer working construction and is now juggling the interest of several girls, as well as trying to balance his passion for writing and performing music—against the wishes of his father and his football coach."

> Jughead Jones: "A philosophically bent heartthrob who was once the best friend of Archie, who is still dealing with the rift that came between them."

> Veronica Lodge: "An intelligent, confident, silver-tongued high school sophomore. Veronica returns to Riverdale from New York, eager to reinvent herself after a scandal involving her father."

>Betty Cooper: "A sweet, smart, eager-to-please and wholesome girl with a long time crush on her best friend, Archie. She is tired of being the perfect daughter, student, sister, etc., so she turns to her new friend, Veronica, for life advice—much to the consternation of her emotionally brittle mother."

> Kevin Keller: "A popular high school student who's openly gay."

lol(?)

Archie Comics are popular in a lot of place, I hear it's huge in Latin America

Jughead is married to his burgers

they already pissed off their 80+ year old readerbase, now it's just a race to the bottom

...

>Jughead Jones: A philosophically bent heartthrob

My wife, who's Swedish, had heard of Archie comics long before meeting me. Not that they were like really popular or something I guess, but she was at least aware of them.

disgusting

Least convincing trap I have ever seen.

They were popular.

>have issue 7 of Archie in near mint condition
>value: $12.40

JUST

>My wife, who's Swedish

So then that other Swede is just a shut-in and it's not weird at all.

I guess my boxes full of Archie Double Digests that I gave away when I moved away from home probably weren't worth much, then.

Oh yes. Christina Hendricks cameo when?

Archie comics were really popular from the beginning and typically had several reprints, of course they aren't going to be worth much, especially in a world where capeshit reigns supreme in the world of comics

Personally I'm glad because it has allowed me collect original issues of She's Josie without spending too much money

>40 year old playing a teen
This is tv but dont be silly

Cheryl

a sexual what?

He's alpha af

>Kevin Keller: "popular high school student whos openly gay"

thats some great character detail if the only focus is his sexuality

Archie seems to be banging his teacher, who is like 60 in the comics. Anything can happen

I was being sarcastic, really, I knew they weren't worth anything. Wish I'd kept them though. Same with all my old Nintendo Power magazines.

I had a box of digests too that I very much regret disposing of

I make up for it now though by collecting the original comics as well as the hardcover editions that IDW and Dark Horse have been coming out with

Fuck, hardcover Archie collections? Those sound nice.

I love them

I'd also recommend the HC collections of Bob Montana's newspaper strips

Thanks bro, I'll check 'em out

>NO FINGER PRINCE
What did they mean by this?
