An honest opinion on lo-fi? "Garbage" is not an answer, if you think it is not good, say why. I'm interested.
I find it a great, a great substitute for ambient music.

literally garbage
that isn't even lo-fi, garbage thread op
What would you label it then? To me, this is an obvious lo-fi hiphop beat
>digitally produced
>low fidelity
Pick one.
You have to be at least 18 to post here
Derivative Nujabes/Dilla worship that is pretty much useless outside of background noise context. Also as anons have mentioned plenty of times already, not even lo-fi.
It's still produced by people who have never worked in a big professional studio and made it at home right? Sometimes genre names don't reflect where the genre has moved throughout the years
>bedroom producers = lo-fi

I'm most likely older than you two, really
this is lo-fi hip-hop:
youtube.com
this is ironic millennial garbage:
Okay then. Do you have any more examples? because it seems like the one on OP's post has some similarities but is much simpler with a clean electronic sound.
then you really have no right to post such a retarded thread
Alright, maybe I called it a different name, but why call it garbage? With the technical advances we won't have any more actual lo-fi tracks of any genre.
It has a nice sound to it, why don't you like it? Only because it is popular?
trash
this
just delete the thread or something
It's got it's place in certain settings, for example: great to study to, and relax. I just don't really enjoy it like I do "regular" music, if you know what I mean.
i like this
this is just easy listening youtuberecommendationcore
no, that track you linked is just so fucking bland, as is most of this "lo fi" shit
Not all simplified tracks are bland. I said it is a great thing to replace ambient music.
Kinda shit how we can't even have actual discussion about music on this board without retards with nothing to say resorting to name-calling and staw-manning.
As to your question OP, I think has it right. It's fine just to play in the background and listen to absent-mindedly as ambient noise. However, I think the reason most people on this board hate it is because most tracks are overdone, overplayed, and oversimplified. There's really nothing to these songs except a repeating beat for 2-3 minutes and some static in the background. You can't listen to this shit seriously without getting bored.
>artificial vinyl pops
>"anime vibes"
there is nothing lo-fi about this and calling it a substitute for ambient is an insult to ambient
>lofi hiphop is ambient
We get it you fucking watch fantano's LET'S ARGUE and can't make decisions for yourself
> I said it is a great thing to replace ambient music
You can't be serious.Ambient is actually good and not as bland as these "Lo-fi" music
The fact that you watch Fantano does not mean everyone watches Fantano. The conclusion that it is a great alternative for ambient music is something anyone could think of, really.
Replace was bad wording on my part. An alternative is better. For me, ambient music is mostly a sboring as this lo-fi-esque music is to you.
