Should voting have an upper age limit?
Our current laws regulating voting were made back when people died before they could become stupid.
Because of that and young people growing more mature every day I think we should reconsider our current model of "everyone over 18 can vote". Lower the minimum age and put an upper limit like 55.

No. Because age is is no guarantee of intelligence. You can have a 19 year old college student who is smart and capable of critical thinking, and you can have a fucking retarded 40 year old who will vote for the same party/leader regardless of their policies just because they share some arbitrary view like "gibs me dat" or "being pro life" or "they gon take muh guns away." And of course, these positions can be reversed. Lowering the minimum age also is not a good idea because teenagers are stupid, gullible and very easily manipulated.

When I think about it, you're right. It is absurd. Older generations are voting for their children. The ones who cannot vote yet.
Raise voting age to 25+. Anyone under this has likely never worked or only worked a few short years. People under this age are largely products of social programming and likely haven't made original thoughts yet.

Well that would never work for the United States, property is too expensive and most housing has been moved to apartments, you would need to restructure the entire housing system to make such a thing work, otherwise only the wealthy would be able to vote. Hell I know people that own their house and are going to need to sell them because rising property tax is pricing them out of the area.

As a 16 year-old I can say that the voting limit must be raised to 25 for men and 30 for women. Lots of my peers can't be trusted when it's about politics or economy. I'm an informed person in these matters and I can hardly fathom how does the market works, let alone a teenage girl who takes her "political studies" from tumblr, because, in Romania, 75% of the teenage girls have a tumblr account. And they usually get easily influenced by moral matters and empathy, thus you can't base on them when it's about making a choice.
Most of the teenagers here are on the full sheep mode when it's about politics.

I think people should have to undergo some simple, basic exam before being able to vote. You fail, you lose the right to ever vote again. Difficulty: middle school, not rocket science. It's incredible how many people get to vote and how few of them actually know for what they vote.
