Thoughts on Glenn Branca? I don't think I've seen him mentioned here once, which is a shame because his music is so good. This is the guy who inspired Sonic Youth and Swans
Thoughts on Glenn Branca? I don't think I've seen him mentioned here once...
That album is short though. If it traditionally included the songs off of the Lesson 1 EP then people would talk about it more

you're just a newfag
he is decent no wave, but other than ascension its all iffy. i do like him though, its an amazing album.\
no wave with math rock are the two best genres imo
Instrumental music doesn't really take off here, SY and Swans at least have a pop element to what they do
>Instrumental music doesn't really take off here
it does sometimes in the sharethreads.
yes because Sup Forums never talks about godspeed you and dj shadow right you fucking idiot
this board has gone to shit holy fuck
its been shit for a while
the only hope we have are the sharethreads. the rest is plagued by fantano and p4k and other critiques.
Repetitive lame garbage. At least Swans and Sonic Youth managed to sound bad in an interesting way. Just because somebody inspires somebody else to do something doesn't by default make the inspiring work good.

Is this your first day here, he's masturbated all the fucking time and has been for years, specifically that album
Personally I prefer Lesson No. 1, even have the cover tattooed on my chest
Yeah he's good, that album has that sort of ethereal-abrasive sound, controlled chaos. Sounds like a David Lynch film, the tinny guitar sounds akin to machinery and factories.
You can tell Lee Ranaldo took a lot back with him. Check this out if you haven't, it's relatively recent from him:
literally what
He's loved over here. Lesson No 1 is one of the few EPs I'd rate 10/10.
what the absolute fuck hes sounds like a music journalist
I thought the album was going to be harsh atonal noise but it's actually pretty accessible. Equal proportions edgy and beautiful, and the dense buildup in the first half of the title track is fucking awesome.
What did I just read?
It’s coming on to me
Never listened to him but god damn that is one of the best album covers I've seen.
it's pretty gud you should listen

It's talked about infrequently, I see it on people's charts pretty often though
