Gotham City Sirens (April 6th, 2018) - The goal is to start filming in June. Casting for Catwoman and Poison Ivy will begin soon. Jared Leto will return as the Joker and will have a key role. The main villain will be The Riddler. The film will have a budget of around 100 million. A sneak peek of the film will most be shown at Comic-Con this year to launch a very aggressive marketing plan for the film.
The Batman (July 13th, 2018) – The film will begin shooting in April. Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons, Joe Manganiello, John Cleese, Armie Hammer, Jared Leto, Jim Parrack and J.K Simmons are the current cast. Barbara Gordon, Two Face, Penguin and Black Mask will be featured in the film and castings for the film will be revealed in early February. Armie Hammer and John Cleese are Nightwing and William Randolph Wintergreen. Wintergreen will have connections to Alfred Pennyworth as both characters were in the military together in the past. The story is Deathstroke releasing all of the criminals from Arkham Asylum making Batman hunt them down. Once an exhausted Batman takes down all the criminals, Deathstroke and Wintergreen kidnap Alfred. Batman goes to rescue Alfred but loses to Deathstroke due to being injured from all the previous fights. Deathstroke stabs Batman but he is saved by Nightwing when Deathstroke is about to land the finishing blow. Deathstroke then tells Gotham that Batman is dead and Gotham goes into chaos and the all the major crime bosses go to war. In the final act, Batman goes to take down Deathstroke while Dick and Barbara help with the gang wars. There will be a tease for Red Hood at the end of the film to set up for The Batman sequel. In a mid-credit scene, Deathstroke will be tied up in a cell and Amanda Waller walks in. It is revealed that Waller was the one who hired him to kill Batman but the truth is she wanted Batman to take out Deathstroke for her since no one could. She puts a bomb in his neck and tells him “Welcome to Task Force X”.
Spoilers: New DCEU Film Slate Details
Aquaman (October 5th, 2018) - The film is moving as scheduled. Black Manta is the main antagonist of the film but Ocean Master also plays a key role. Ocean Master is being set up for a potential Throne of Atlantis film in the future. Throne of Atlantis will either be in a future Justice League film or Aquaman sequel. The studio has yet to decide. Aquaman and Mera aren’t a couple in this film but they will grow closer throughout the film. Black Manta will not get killed off as he is expected to be part of the Suicide Squad sequel.
Lobo (December 25th, 2018) – New Line will in charge of this film. Jason Fuchs has been working on the script since spring of last year. No filming date for the film is set. The film will be Rated R.
Black Adam (February 15th, 2019) – This film will be under New Line. The Rock will be picking the director and writer for this film. The film will focus on Black Adam’s slave origins, how he conquered and his love life before turning into a villain. An early idea pitched is having Hawkman in the film with a possible confrontation with Black Adam.
The Flash (May 24th, 2019) – Geoff Johns wrote a detailed story for the film. Warner Bros. offered the film to Guy Ritchie to direct. Cyborg will not cameo in the film like originally planned.
Suicide Squad 2 (August 8th, 2019) – The Suicide Squad will be going through a small reboot. First, El Diablo will be brought back to life due to the character’s popularity. It will be revealed that El Diablo is actually immortal. Second, Harley Quinn won’t be returning to the Suicide Squad. The studio will bring Killer Frost as the new female lead and the character will receive a huge push. Futhermore, Deathstroke and Black Manta will be added to the team. The studio hopes that their appearances in previous films will boost the film. They are also interested in bringing the character of Plastique to the squad. One character that might not return is Katana. David Ayer wrote a treatment for Suicide Squad 2 which he’s been working on since wrapping Suicide Squad and Ayer wants to return and direct the film. Right now the plan is to have a New God villain for the film to continue to build towards Darkseid.
Justice League 2 (November 15th, 2019) - Darkseid will be the main villain. Geoff Johns and Zack Snyder are currently working on the story. The Justice League will most likely be getting new members. Green Arrow and Black Canary have been heavily discussed. Originally, Shazam was supposed to join the Justice League in the second film but with the recent changes and Black Adam getting his film those plans have been postponed.
Dark Universe (February 2nd, 2020) – Guillermo del Toro’s old treatment is being used for the screenplay. Christopher McQuarrie is working on the screenplay.
Green Lantern Corps (April 3rd, 2020) – The Sinestro Corps and Red Lantern Corps will be the main villains of this film. The film will explore Hal Jordan’s past and John Stewart’s demons. Warner Bros. offered the film to Alfonso Cuaron.
Shazam will be under New Line and is targeted for July 3rd, 2020. The Man of Steel sequel is targeted for October 2nd, 2020.
Three DC other films will be scheduled for 2021 along with Justice League 3 for November 12th, 2021.
