Everyone it seems

>Everyone it seems
>Has somewhere to go
>And the faster the world spins
>The shorter the lights will glow
>And I’m swimming in the night
>Chasing down the moon
>The deeper in the water
>The more I long for you

K L O N Los Angeles (Klon radio)

we play the songs that sound more like everyone else, than anyone else

Their lyrical writing has improved a lot over the years.

krdl, the kurdle. elastic ass with you here in chino hills, the last frontier. that's where we're at.

the new stuff does nothing to me, it doesnt have any balls

>NICOTINE VALIUM VICODIN MARIJUANA ECSTASY AND ALCHOOL
>OHHHH

>Like Clockwork and Villains doesn't have any balls
Have you really listened to those albums?

The best QOTSA album by far. Villians was a damn shame desu

Listen to it again. It may be their worst, but it's a 8.0/10 with great songs

>inb4 muh production

I wouldn’t say Villains is their worst but t doesn’t have any songs that really blow me away, none that are complete garbage either
Their worst is Lullabies

'CAUSE I'M ALREADY GONE
IF YOU BET ON ME, YOU'VE WON

like clockwork is probably their best work, but it's not far ahead of songs for the deaf; that album is great too

Lullabies is great, my man

And Feet Don't Fail Me Now, Villains of Circumstance, Unreborn Again, F

Yeah but Lullabies has shit like Skin on Skin and You’ve Got a Killer Scene and other boring shit
First half of the album is great though

Villains may have some good songs, and it does, but none of them have lyrics on the same level as Like Clockwork. I’m not saying that Homme embodied Dylan or anything, but there’s some really damn good stuff here.

I just don’t get My God is the Sun. The rest of the album is about the loss of identity and love, struggling to find yourself again after tragedy with all the starts and stops inherent in such an endeavor and in the middle is an end-game boss fight theme. It’s a fantastic song and one of my favorites from them, but it’s totally out of place in the rest of the album.

this

My God is the Sun is on Like Clockwork
Also Lullabies has a song where Homme says ‘broken pussy’

I know. The second paragraph was referring to Like Clockwork.

I didn’t read it very well

I'd agree that lullabies is their worst but God damn I never came, you've got a killer scene, and in my head are so horrendously under rated that I put it above Era vulgaris

Which is funny, cause I’d say Era Vulgaris is their most underrated album.

Depends on what you like, i preferred neolithic statements compared to Elton John-esque drama

The thing I’ll never understand about this band is how they perfectly replicate the feeling of driving through the desert through their instrument arrangements.

>Mentions the best 2 songs on the album if not the entire catalogue of QotsA
>boring shit

Am triggered for sure

Best song from Like Clockwork

Apparently mids = desert
You honestly like Skin on Skin? Why?

On one day I made a tally of all the qualities of all the individual songs on all albums and realised the only answer to the question which is the best album is Lullabies

Medication too.

That simple riff with the vocal melody is sometimes all i need in a song

Sometimes less = more is actually true

Probably the reason Keep Your Eyes Peeled is in my top 5 songs by them as well

>Keep Your Eyes Peeled
But that's the worst song on Like Clockwork

Why is Mosquito Song so underrated?

I think you mean best

The only other contenders are Kalopsia, Smooth Sailing, or I Appear Missing

The rest of the album are actually among some of the mediocre/worst Qotsa songs imo (I mean Fairweather Friends fucking really?)

Yeah, but it’s got that skuzzy, dive-bar at one in the morning feel that I love from them.

>Fairweather Friends fucking really
What a pleb lol. That song is great

I honestly don't know.

Best QOTSA song, best song released on its year, top 100 songs ever

It's so boring though, it plays out like some bad kind of 70s classic rock. I feel the same way about you for liking it

It’s filler

I feel like I don't like it anymore but only because I've listened to it so many times

>Losing a feeling that I couldn't give away
>Counting' and breathing', disappearing' in the fade
>They don't know, I never do you any good
>Stoppin' and stayin', I would if I could

>Ain't gonna worry
>Just live till you die, I wanna drown
>With nowhere to fall into the arms of someone
>There's nothing to save
>I know,
>You live till you die

Attached: IMG_6074.jpg (1200x1200, 435K)

and Little Sister, Someone's in the Wolf gets me going too

Go with the Flow has some great lines too

>But I want something good to die for
To make it beautiful to live.
>I want a new mistake, lose is more than hesitate.
>Do you believe it in your head?

i know im only here to piss on the pee ocean but like clockwork is the best thing qotsa has ever done

fuck yes my man. In the fade has recently taken over my #1 all time spot.
But to be honest, I just like all of their albums. Ive stuck by them a long time, and each release gets me excited simply because its something different than before. Sure some songs across albums are similar, but each album has its own unique qualities

Best thing QOTSA ever did was kicking a photographer

>I go missing, no longer exist
>One day I hope I'm someone you'd miss.

I forget this song a lot but it's fantastic indeed

>…and what about the first single from the album, “My God Is The Sun”? Do you take the sun as the deity and the healer?

I love words and I love how they work and look like. Some words are gorgeous and some aren’t. The sun is everything. You get it when you, for example, look at plants and they turn to it. And that is something unbelievably beautiful. And I have a son [a reference to sounding of words son/sun – editorial office note]. It’s not an coincidence that it’s a similar word. It should be something venerated, it should start right here.

>So is your son the center of your universe?

Yes.

It's definitely a great song to start the album, not the worst song by any means.

best qotsa song

I feel like I'm the only one on the whole board that feels like Like Clockwork sounds a lot more... butt-rocky than the rest of their discography and I can't get into it.

Isn't that an S/T lyric..?

oh my god the shit opinions in this thread im triggered as fuck

I Appear Missing is the least buttrock I’ve heard from this band

Soycore: the thread. Holy fuck what an overrated shit band. You all really have low expectations.

>QOTSA
>soy
You call this bait?

What is this post trying to say?

I think My God is the Sun is about how people find things to throw themselves at and dedicate themselves to, but, like staring at the sun for too long in spite of its beauty, those things end up causing them pain

god In the Fade is so fucking good

the Jesse Hughes / Eagles of Death Metal cover of Go With the Flow is my favorite version of it. the way he sings that song makes it feel so much more bleak and tragic like the lyrics suggest

HEY ALRIGHT ITS KIP KASPER

this line legit breaks my heart each time

Does this sound like buttrock to you? The wall of sound at the halfway mark completely blows me away each time.

I don’t think I really ‘got’ that it’s a break-up song until I listened to this cover.

Man, how many break-up songs does this band have?

>The Evil Has Landed
>Villians of Circumstance
>Fortress

I hated this album upon release, but it's actually pretty good.

>In my head
>Underrated

It's one of their most iconic songs, it was even on Need for Speed

>I hated this album upon release, but it's actually pretty good
this happens to me with l i t e r a l l y every QotSA album. I absolutely hated Like Clockwork on release, but when I revisited it last year, shit rocked my world
