Dilla (along with his solo production) produced for several classic Hip Hop acts including A Tribe Called Quest, Common, The Roots, and Erykah Badu among others.
Nujabes I have no fuckin' idea.
Have you heard how smooth Dilla's beats are? What the man accomplished with an mpc most people could not with a DAW. And his influence can be felt all over rap music. Kanye was basically discount j dilla in his early career.
Their music is incredible
Nujabes was the inspiration for many new era asian producers, wich have influenced largely hh new-sound
Nujabes collaborated on a hiphop soundtrack for an anime that the other artists typically don't get credited for by impressional weebs that don't typically listen to a lot of music. They hear Nujabes' (admittedly really good) chill jazzy beats and their dicks get blown off. Simple as that.
That coupled with his unfortunate young death and you've got the recipe for prime meme music.
The idea that these two are on the same level is a fucking laugh and a half. Nujabes is a good producer that made some good beats. Jay Dee is probably one of the most innovative and brilliant musicians in all of hip-hop.

No
>le off beat sample man
ah that's what I thought
Putting a meme arrow in front of probably the most important innovation in hip-hop production of the last two decades doesn't make it unimportant user.
but the >le did it, right?
and not just hip-hop production- his influence is being felt everywhere, in jazz and soul and everywhere else
it's the one innovation everyone is applying to new things
nujabes got popular because of anime
dilla is a legend because he was an innovator
