can someone please tell me why they used this album art for an album called “surfs up”? it doesnt fit anything on here
It's meant to be ironic. The Beach Boys were true hipsters.
Pet Sounds doesn't have student demonstration time on it which automatically makes it better
>no fun allowed
>he doesn't enjoy sdt ironically
fun IS allowed, that's why I have nothing against take a load off your feet. But sdt is just straight up awful with no redeeming qualities. let go of the denial user
THERE'S A RIOT GOIN ON
have you even listened to the album retardo
Brian Wilson's ambition to write a teenage symphony to god was quixotic
Take a Load off Your Feet isn't meant to be full on fun you brainlet. It's a serious message urging the youth to take care of their bodies.
Ah yes, my good fellow. And Don't Go Near the Water is a rebellious environmental anthem on the dangers of capitalist consumption, with striking, intelligent lyrics like "To be cool with the water is the message of this song", which serves as a skeleton key to bypass the cryptic veil of such emotionally stirring poetry.
Only half of the songs on Surf's Up are good
Surf's Up as in "this phase is over"
It's ironic in the sense that it's meant to be more depressing than optimistic the way you would normally have interpreted their happier surf music stuff.
>Sloop John B
Don't be obtuse, they both have their lows.
>TFW not to overlap with SMiLE I put in Wouldn't It Be Nice To Live Again as the closer
You're Welcome is a better closer than Surf's Up for SMiLE
I actually edited in You're Welcome into Surf's Up, as a secret track
ooo goddamn
post your tracklist
It's basically similar to the SLN one, but with more meat on Heroes and Villains
I went through a huge beach boys pet sounds smiley smile love you phase when I was like 20 but somehow missed surf's up until right now.
I'm listening to it right now and I am actually really mad I missed this one because I would have fucking loved it. I've never felt this way.
>listening to anything ironically
why don't you trust yourself
which versions of the songs are you using ? SLN tracklist and ideas themselves are sound but dear lord it sounds just awful
>OOGA CHAKKA OOGA CHAKKA
church camp ptsd
> Sloop John B a bad track
Pretty retard Friendo. Shit taste
>scooby dooby doo get me off this boat
Brilliant.
For Heroes and Villains, I used Our Prayers at the intro, and for the rest, It's my little blend taking out the Bycicle Rider chorus, kinda basing it off of the Cantena version, but with the Smiley Smile stuff
Vegetables is the SLN one, but with the second ending taked on
Do you Like Worms is a mix from a fellow at the Pet Sounds forums that puts in the two verses and adds a little to it!
Child is the father of the man is based off of Brians test mix, including vocals from a fan, and a little one from Al using the ending from Surf's Up 1971, cause why not?
OMP is the same SLN one but with the fadeout from Heroes and Villains
CabinEssense to wonderful is the same
Added some vocals to I'm in great shape's I wanna be around section
Windchimes and The ELements are the SLN one
And lastly Surf;s up uses the second part from the 2004 one, because why not? Aaaand a little bit of silence and comes in You're welcome
mind uploading ? looks like you put some thought into the mix
Same guy, it's not a completely accurate fan mix, but it's still a nice listen
Pet sounds is overall better, it's pretty unpunchable
the highs of surf's up are amazing though, stuff like feel flows and the title track especially
pet sounds is pet sounds though, like every track is the greatest of all time
thanks man I appreciate that
Anytime. BTW, In my universe, they release SMiLE in april, with a similar reaction to Pet Sounds, with slightly better sales. They re-release it around summer adding a bonus EP called Smiley Smile, with adds to the humor of the original with this tracklist
Side A
With Me Tonight
Fall Breaks and Back To Winter
She's Goin' Bald
Side B
Little Pad
Gettin' Hungry
Whistle In
All I wanna do and Disney Girls are my favorite Beach Boy tracks
Sunflower is so underrated
You're disgusting
You' re annoying
Not as annoying as Sloop John B
20/20 is underrated
bump
thx bro
Trees like me weren't meant to live
If all this earth can give
Is pollution and slow death
>THESE THINGS I'LL BE UNTIL I DIE
>THESE THINGS I'LL BE UNTIL I DIE
>THESE THINGS I'LL BE UNTIL I DIE
>THESE THINGS I'LL BE UNTIL I DIE
>THESE THINGS I'LL BE UNTIL I DIE
REALLY wish an actual beach boy wouldve sang Day in the Life
>muh lyrics
>We'll never get to hear the Dennis version
>Brian Wilson's ambition to write a teenage symphony to god was quixotic
Not really since he accomplished exactly what he set out to achieve and it was universally admired by virtually everyone.
