Flying Microtonal Banana - King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
Great, groovy, Microtonal psych rock album. Colorful instrumentation, driving beats, and great overall feel.
>Only knows about microtones because of King Gizzard
lel I just finished listening to that album
Don't get the hype honestly
Dude. SICK. RIFFS.
Just listen to Arabic oud and Maqam music op
nah
I'm looking for more western microtonal music so I can see its harmonic implication as opposed to melodic
David Fiuczynski has some microtonal stuff.
Ben Johnston - Symphonies 6 - 9

Is just intonation really considered a microtonal system? Isn't it more of an alteration on 12tet with microtonal shifts? I mean the harmonic theory grounding just intonation pieces aren't different from that of traditional western theory? Or am I wrong?
It's pretty good, but not their best album. It's much better live, honestly. If you wanna understand Gizz hype listen I'm In Your Mind Fuzz or Nonagon Infinity.
I like this one, but I'm not sure whether it's good or whether I'm just a pleb.
This is fantastic!
Fun fact: Tsuneo Imahori (member of The Seatbelts, of Cowboy Bebop fame) plays guitar on a few songs on this record.
This is my favourite
not listened to it in a while actually.
