>the microphones - mount eeire
if you don't think Cobain's rendition of Johnny Cash's Hurt is not better than the original just leave and never return
C'mon bruv: youtu.be
lol
tainted love?
By the way, the original is Nine Inch Nails' , not an original song by Cash. But his cover is very good though
(you)
Soft Cell-Tainted Love
Dead Kennedys-Viva Las Vegas
Big Black-The Model
Limp Bizkit unironically did Behind Blue Eyes better than the The Who though?
Great job proving OP's point, Dio's version is one hundred times better.
I know this is bait, but Limp Bizkit's version would actually be decent if they didn't replace the solo with that weird shit.
In many instances where the cover is better than the original, the cover is so much more popular than the original that you'd probably assume it wasn't a cover.
Hell no. It's sounds lame after you listen to that cover. Like a shell of itself.
The original was so bad a literal video game OST beats it by a long shot

Had a friend tell me recently the Jeff Buckley hallelujah was garbage but the loved the version “on shrek.”
Most covers of Daniel Johnston's songs are better than the original.
Jim O'Rourke - Fast Car

The version on Shrek is the John Cale version, and while it's similar I suppose it's a little different. in spite of that, it's so similar to the Buckley version that it's kind of odd that his opinions are so different regarding the covers
probably Death's cover of Judas Priest's Painkiller
I thought it was Rufas Wainright?
Wanright's version was on the OST, the version that was actually in the movie was John Cale's. There was some sort of licensing clusterfuck that prevented Cale's version from being on the soundtrack album

Sublime - Hope
Cake - I Will Survive
this, but they just cant capture the comfy feel the originals have
>Cake - I Will Survive
Gloria Gaynor hates this cover because of the "fuck" used but honestly this cover is leagues ahead of what she ever did.
Exactly - 1990 is easier to listen to, but his OG cassette tracks are special to me.

I love Nick but Leonard's original is still better
Tries to hard to be memey
Well sometimes that is the case. Like here. for example.

lolno. But a good example would be any Byrds cover of a Dylan song
Take that back. Tamborine man is the only good cover
lmao
Pride & Glory - Come Together
Nirvana's cover of Where Did You Sleep Last Night, as well as Man Who Sold The World
Can't think of any others off of the top of my head.
lamao what the fuck, how can you have such a bad taste
The Beatles are bad.
Nirvana added a much better atmosphere to Led Zep's song.
I don't agree with anything so far. Most of the better covers are 1980s covers of 1970s songs
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, the original is a good new-wave song but it lacks the energy and bounciness of Lauper's version.
I Love Rock n Roll is another one, the original is way too staid
Gloria is better because of Laura Branigan's singing but both versions are very good
Kim Carnes' Bette Davis Eyes just works better with the sumputous new wave arrangement than the country original
Carl Carlton's Everlasting Love wins over the other two famous versions because of its excellent production and tightness, but all of them are great
Local H doesn't even have the best cover of Toxic.
nothing was delivered
Oh cool!
Well personally I like the OST version haha

Even Dylan agrees on that.
