I've recently gotten into weezer and was wonder what are some of their better song from their bad albums such as red, raditude, make believe etc?
I've recently gotten into weezer and was wonder what are some of their better song from their bad albums such as red...
I Want You To is fucking incrdible. Easily surpasses anything from Pinkerton.
just listen to the B sides from Blue and pinkerton
The best Green Album songs are the ones that didn't make the cut. Listen to O Girl and Sugar Booger.
Maladroit is a good album
Make Believe... Some aren't as awful as the worst ones, but there's nothing I care much for.
Red - Pork and Beans, Dreamin, The Angel and the One, Miss Sweeney, Pig
Raditude - lol. (The Rivers solo Alone version of Can't Stop Partying is interesting)
Hurley and Death to False Metal - blah
EWBAITE and White are great, minus 2 tracks on White (Thank God for Girls and Jacked Up
Pacific Daydream sucks
Did you just diss weezers best album Raditude?
I actually consider red an elaborate ironic shitpost. It's like a test to see how stupid they can be and get away with it.
i've already listened to all of blue and pink and i'm lookin' for more
I'm Your Daddy
Ruling Me
The Girl Got Hot
Everybody Get Dangerous
Let It All Hang Out
there's other power pop bands you know
I'm just getting into weezer and wonder what other good songs they have
basically my view of weezer after maladroit (which is definitely underrated and overlooked) is that they're still good as a pop band, just silly and i wouldnt expect to be emotionally moved like you will be by their earlier and most recent stuff.
if you don't mind the goofiness, the songs are still quality, but to start try im your daddy off of raditude and the greatest man that ever lived off of red
Every other post up until now is sort of objectively false.
Green: Most of the songs sound identical, but pleasant. O Girlfriend is nice.
Maladroit: Burndt Jamb is great. I also like Slave and Death and Destruction. Fall Together is kind of dumb fun.
Make Believe: Perfect Situation is almost good, but too banal. Try This is Such a Pity, cheese 80's vibes galore. Fan favorite is The Other Way, its probably the most solid on the album. I love Freak Me Out because the lyrics are so bizarrely bad, but in a very enjoyable way and natural guitar harmonics make it a pleasant listen.
Red: Some fun song structures. Greatest Man is worth one listen for kicks, but i mostly think it is just a bunch of subpar stuff strung together. Dreamin is good. Angel and the One is the clear winner from the main album. BUT the best tracks are from the deluxe version. Pig is a classic, Miss Sweeney is like Susanne (blue b-side) but weirder. If you like synths, the Spider is great as well, unlike any other weezer song. This is a mostly bad album, but the bonus tracks are at least cool.
Raditutde. This album objectively sucks. If I Want You To has a good bridge though. Listen to the bonus track Run Over by a Truck. Probably my favorite track from this period. Another bonus track Prettiest Girl is alright, but I prefer the Rivers Alone version.
Hurley: This album is also crap. Unspoken and Run Away might be worth a listen, but it's been a long time since I've bothered.
Death to False Metal: lol
Everything Will Be Alright in the End: Solid, but I don't think it had much staying power. Lonley Girl, Cleopatra and Foolish Father are all good. Cleopatra especially.
Whilte Album: The whole thing is solid. Good mix of weirder new sounds with simple old sounding rock. Great bridges in Jacked Up and Drunk Dori.
Pacific Daydream: First few songs suck. Weekend Woman, and Sweet Mary are great, feel good tunes. QB blitz is alright.
If you missed them, check out the blue and pinkerton b-sides.
>Make Believe
"This Is Such a Pity"
"The Damage in Your Heart"
"Haunt You Every Day"
>Red
"Thought I Knew"
"The Angel and the One"
"Pig"
"The Spider"
"King"
>Raditude
"(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To"
"Can't Stop Partying" (shut up it's one of the better songs on that POS)
"Put Me Back Together"
>Hurley
Honestly haven't even listened to this one all the way through. "Trainwrecks" is nice, though.
>Pacific Daydream
"Mexican Fender"
"QB Blitz"
> "Put Me Back Together"
I honestly consider this the low point of the band. Descending this far into All American Rejects level of insipid trash is just tragic. But whatever.
I think it's neat that they worked with musicians they inspired as opposed to Dr. Luke and Jermaine Dupri, but maybe I just have a stronger stomach for a big cheesy pop-punk hook.
Miss Sweeney sucks.
>minus
>Jacked Up
Come say that to my face
Ozma - Rock and Roll pt. 3
teenagers GET OUT
This is actually true
Fuck's sake I hope next Weezer album will be good. White album looked like such a step forward, then we got fucking Pacific Daydream
