The new Breeders was weaker than both new Pixies albums. It's only getting average reviews because of MUH girlpower.
The new Hot Snakes is a proper comeback record, its a sampler of their 3 early albums, and they're only a half point to a point below from their previous records' quality. Pretty impressive after 14 years and considering they're now going into their 50s.
