Yes. Young people should not be allowed to vote.

No, because I didn't get my way!

Should young people be forced to vote?

They have the most experience so yes.

Yes, and the voting age should be raised to 25.

25-retirement age is the ideal range imo

we should leave it up to the toddlers because they will have to live with the results longer than old people.

We should also not allow anyone without a college degree to vote. Obviously, learning the amino acids makes you more informed on politics than living, experiencing, and seeing the world change for 80 years.

>old people screwed us over. they ruined our future. REEEEEE
>did not even go voting
top kek lads, my sides are in orbit. is this real life or am i dreaming?

They shouldn't be allowed to live

Old people founded our countries

Yes old people should have a say in how their countries run

The British, I mean. Old people are fine.

Should sick people?
Should fat people who are unlikely to live past the middle age?

> feminists
> in stem
Good one

Should young people be allowed to vote?

Is it not common knowledge that with age comes wisdom?

Furthermore it is quite disingenuous for the young people who voted to stay because they are indoctrinated by the media they consume.

The young people who didn't vote are normal human beings who were too concerned with frivolity to vote.

The thing I find hilarious is that when these young people grow up they will find their opinions on the world were actually invalid and will get to see the younger generation be just as idiotic and idealistic as they were.

Only property and/or business owners over the age of 25 should be allowed to vote tbqh

Should non-taxpayers?

I'm just going to leave this here

>Should old people be allowed to vote?

The argument provided by the Left on this point is quite clear:

>Old people are not going to live as long as the young, so their vote should count less.

However, an interesting notion arises out of this.... What about people with illnesses that shorten their lifespans?

>22 year old woman is diagnosed with ALS and will be dead in 3 years.

>32 year old man learns that he has a rare form of slow-growing but untreatable cancer, leaving him with only a year or two to live.

>18 year old learns that he has a congenital heart defect that will kill him before his 30th birthday unless he gets a transplant.

This shit happens every single day, and none of the scenarios I listed are even all that rare. So, do we deny them the right to vote? They are all very young people, they just do not have much time left, which was the problem Leftists have with the old.

Would a leftist walk into a cancer treatment hospital and tell those of voting age that they should not be allowed to vote? Probably fucking not.

Not only is this ageism (rarely discussed form of discrimination around here) of the worst kind, it is some sinister shit to tell a WW2 vet that he should have the voting power of a turnip because....

>You are gonna be six feet under in a box soon, gramps! This is OUR time!

Holy fuck, their arrogance makes my teeth hurt.

I was gonna say...your country is like 70% old people

You made a very interesting point.
Here is a (You).

The left is only making this argument because of how asspained they are about losing. They see the fact the older generations actually turned out to vote and largely voted to leave as screwing over the younger generations and invalidating their bullshit hashtag activism, despite the fact barely 1/3 of millenials actually showed up to vote.
They want somebody to blame but they don't want to look in a mirror and realize THEY fucked up.

This

>Old people shouldn't vote!!!!
>voter id laws are discriminatory because then my old grandma who outdates photography and doesn't have one wouldn't be counted!!

maybe if Millennial cucks would actually vote, their country's politics wouldn't be dictated by the elderly who do take part in the Democratic process

If mobile phones weren't allowed into the booth to take pics voting remain the vote would have been 60-40

>The left is only making this argument because of how asspained they are about losing.

It also reveals how completely unprincipled these monsters are.

>Equality for everyone!

>What do you mean we lost the vote? OLD PEOPLE AND THE TERMINALLY ILL MUST BE TURNED INTO SOYLENT GREEN!

Ageism is one of those things that really burns my ass. I don't know why, but it just really pisses me off for some reason.

>Young SJW: "You are worth less than I am, gramps, because you could drop dead tomorrow!"

>Later that day...

>NEWSFLASH: "This just in! A young Remain activist has just been killed after being hit by a runaway bread truck in Trafalgar Square!"

>"In other news, elderly WW2 vet made famous after being shamed earlier in the day for voting in the EU referendum cast his vote this afternoon...."

We are all living on borrowed time. It is supremely arrogant for anyone to think that they have more time than anyone else.

>maybe if Millennial cucks would actually vote

They are too busy "raising awareness" and virtue signalling to actually take the time to vote, thankfully

No, they are fucking parasites on our society. We need to round all these old fucks up, put them in camps and find some way to make them useful. Those that are a drain on society should be put to death and then be cremated. We could facilitate a grand scheme to accomplish this using trains and a camp system all over Europe. That is to say, we concentrate them in these camps away from us, the future of our countries. Post guards so they can't escape and find some menial labor for them to do that benefits us. Should work out perfectly, right?

>We need to round all these old fucks up

Not buying it.

Poor bait.

Young people are Britain's dumbest, they failed to show up for the biggest election in their lifes, sat around watching Netflix instead, and then spent the day after Googling what the EU is.

You sir, are and idiot :/

>You are gonna be six feet under in a box soon, gramps! This is OUR time!

As someone who has never had an issue with the elderly and accepted the passage of time, I can't wait for these arrogant fucks to grow old and out of touch themselves. One day they will be old whether they like it or not, if anything this just further shows how short-sighted these people are.

Well look at that, the more people that voted, the more they voted to leave

youtube.com/watch?v=JzTTPXtZRaQ

No! Fuck those senile old shits.

You realize that old folks who are actually senile aren't mentally competent enough to vote, right?

I do wonder how many of the "young" people are middle eastern immigrants or people who moved there from the rest of the EU. Old people wouldn't really move much in order to get work or go to university. How many actual British people want to stay?

I'd say that old people are more representative of GB's interest because a greater proportion of them are actually British. A decent portion of the young people are outsiders who want to continue getting a free ride.

>Should we disenfranchise an entire group

Quick correction to your chart there m8

>18-24 year old voters
>10% leave
>26% stay
>64% DIDN'T VOTE

The vast majority of 18-24 year olds voted "didn't vote", exercising their democratic right to not give any fucks and not particularly care whether Britain is part of the EU

Older people were more likely to vote, because old people actually pay attention and care about things like national identity.

Bingo, also young people that voted remain would say that they wanted UK to stay in EU so that they could leave it later and move to a different EU country.

So these kids see their country falling apart and their solution is to vote remain so they can just abandon it? Real nice

This actually should be the law because secret ballots are supposed to be secret.

That it would also mildly suppress the youth vote is a fortunate byproduct.

Like, if someone can get proof of how you voted, then they can pay you for your vote, or beat you up if you can't prove you voted the right way, or whichever other thing.

The age differences is incredibly important to democracy. It is basically a check and balance since young voters will tend to support the status quo that they know, unless the current situation is horrible, but the old will have experienced more of a variety in political climate. You need both groups to achieve a proper democracy.
The idea that the old do not have younger generations in mind is completely false. They are typically voting for what they believe is best for their younger family members.

This

you got a sauce for that?

You don't know how to take 27% of 36%?

no i need a sauce for an argument im having on faceyb

3 different sources already posted in this thread. open your eyes.

yeah i just googled it wanted the site was all

Yeah. Those old fucks are more likely to turn out to vote Leave and subsequently watch their retirement account they depend on fucking tank. Get fucked idiots!

Should anyone be allowed to vote?

are you kidding me?

Voter turnout for 18-24 was 36%. It was only privileged liberal trendies that went out to vote, the rest of the milennials didn't care. So explain to me how they are more "special" or more "informed".

2070 needs to come sooner.

Some people value democracy more than money. God forbid!

>this

feels strange being the only one of my friends on the leave side, they all can't understand why i voted leave (my city was 74/26 r/l or someth) but i asked them what they voted and most of them said they couldn't be bothered to vote

bonus round: they're all signing that stupid petition to have a 2nd referendum now

Lrn2History

The debate about lowering voting age from 21 to 18 in the U.S. began during World War II and intensified during the Vietnam War. The law was changed because if an 18 yo was old enough to be drafted and possibly die, then they should be old enough to vote and help make the decisions of the state.

The voting age should perhaps be raised because obviously younger people lack wisdom and experience in such matters.

Only when they're voting for what I want.

t. liberal

>tfw 21 and voted leave

Feels comfy. Glad normies are pissed off.

Without them sjw's would win all elections and the World would go to hell.

>raise voting age to 45
>profit

Increase drafting age to 25 (no one gets drafted now-a-days anyways), then increase minimum voting age to 25.

Funny article and the title is true but the content is just clickbait bullshit. "Fewer than a third can name Winstone Churchhill", you're compared to old people that have actually lived (or closer to) in that era. "They do clearly know about thingers such as internet search engines and rock music." And old people don't. The knowledges of the modern age has just shifted to something else. That said, title's true though.

Honestly, I'm 20 and I don't think people should be allowed to vote until 25.
