A guy I'm in a group assignment with at uni wouldn't stop shilling Xxxtentacion and 69 and he said because I like heavier music I would like them. He was wrong.

Yeah I like some of X's older stuff (the soundcloud jawns like sippinteainyourhood, rip roach, i dont wanna do this anymore) but his recent fake-ass sAdBoI shtick is annoying as fuck.

I'm the one with the K.R.I.T. as my #1
If you like Iglooghost and Death Grips like I do, you might like SOPHIE, she's one of my favorite artists right now but doesn't show up on my weekly 4x4 bc she doesn't have any albums right now. Like a slower and more metallic Iglooghost or a Death Grips with feminine vocals. Although you've probably heard of her already. Great taste ;)

yea i have, same reason why she isnt on my chart, I love xer :)

>but you are probably too old to be on the internet
I'm 25, it's not that bad

Check out Ultraista - Ultraista
Check out Yaroslav Lenzyak - Vremena

Since you like KKB and SOPHIE, might I suggest some more PC Music stuff? GFOTY, Hannah Diamond, and Charli XCX are all pretty good introductions, they're doing some really unique stuff right now. Hey QT is song of the century.

hell yea my dude, I know most of these by name but never gave em a listen, Really in the mood for some happy music, thanks, ill check it out!

ALSO if you like Grimes and Flume maybe check out Purity Ring, kinda a blend of them, I'd recommend their first album quite a bit. They're kinda upbeat musically but dark lyrically, v g00d.

ooh ill check out that first, that sounds very interesting, GFOTY is great so far btw, love the random hardcore drops

Final suggestion. "iamamiwhoami" is somewhat of a more positive-sounding Grimes in a sense, as you can see the album "Kin" made it into my top 16, I'd recommend "Play" and "Kill". Damn I gotta chill with the suggestions.

nah I love your suggestions, you're doing gods work user :) already know iamamiwhoami, great stuff!

Have fun :)

Deceit and utopia are really good
That portishead live album is also great

+Richter, Portishead and Radiohead
Fuck Florence and the machine though
Try Christina Vantzou, A winged victory for the sullen and Musk Ox
+all the bowie
I never know what to recommend Bowie fans. So gonna go with something completely different - try listening to the sleepy buildings live album by The Gathering. Stunning vocals.
+ The beatles
Can you recommend me some minimalist classical famalam? I don't want to end up getting burnt out on the stuff like Richter, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Musk Ox and Part
Jeez I don't know dude, I haven't heard any of that. Maybe try The Veldt
don't know any of yours either. Maybe just try something comfy and atmospheric like Tears Laid in Earth by The 3rd and the Mortal
Try Amulet
The 3rd and the mortal - paintings on glass

Dennis Johnson - November
La Monte Young - The Well-Tuned Piano
John Cale - New York in the 1960s - Volume 1: Sun Blindness Music
Catherine Christer Hennix - The Electric Harpsichord
Henry Flynt - You Are My Everlovin / Celestial Power
Lubomyr Melnyk - Windmills
Charlemagne Palestine - Strumming Music
Terry Riley - In C

Thanks

I was listening to Henry Flynt the other day actually.

BTW can I just ask if any of those are just piano and strings? That's all I',m really into except I guess in the case of Musk Ox with acoustic

>piano
Dennis Johnson - November
La Monte Young - The Well-Tuned Piano
Lubomyr Melnyk - Windmills
Charlemagne Palestine - Strumming Music
>strings (mostly)
John Cale - New York in the 1960s - Volume 1: Sun Blindness Music

I'd just go through all La Monte Young buddies to get through minimalism stuff.

Cheers for these, I'm making a note. I've kind of started with this stuff from ambient and drone like AWVFTS, SOTL, Sunn O))), Vantzou, Hecker, English etc so finding it hard where to go from synth ambient to stuff more along AWVFTS lines, considering I was disappointed when they went all electronic from the second album
