Explain this, Sup Forums

Both movies are very similar and have similar themes. The only real difference is that one is set in the north, the other one on the sea. Yet Frozen has over twice the box office.

Little girls identify with the white princess not the ethnic one.

Little girls also don't care about The Rock.

Moana doesn't appeal to chinks.
Also, what little I've seen of it gives me a heavy Dreamworks vibe.

shit skin tribal or princess with super powers and lesbianism
which one would a little girl want to be?

White people are more attractive and eye catching as well as easier to relate to.

>little girls aren't masturbating to The Rock
They're completely failing at puberty.

To be fair the movie was just released in Asia, and hasn't even been released in Scandinavia and Japan.

It was a summer movie coming out in November and ended up being cannibalized by Rogue One. Also brown people or whatever.

Moana is the better movie.

dude trust me, teenage girls are definitely schlicking to the rock

he hits all of their bullet points

- ripped as fuck
- non white
- old enough to be their dad

>Explain this, Sup Forums
You're an adult begging for a justification for something between two movies made for children

No, you explain where your life went so wrong

yeah but that's just the voice of the Rock, which to a woman is probably the objectively worst thing about the Rock, except for whatever is rolling around in the Rock's head right now.

I feel like sometimes that first week or two can make or break a movie.
Like if a movie is really popular when it's initially released then the marketing is just ramped up because that's what I felt like happened with Frozen that didn't happen with Moana.

>Little girls identify with the white princess not the ethnic one
That isn't necessarily true because Moana did similar numbers to Brave.

I think the sole reason Frozen was so popular was because of it's music.

Because it's story and characters were forgettable.

...

Maui has a straight up ugly face though

and he's probably a manlet

wasn't there some controversy with MOANA like didn't some SJW run a shit fit how stereotyped or whitewashed or something this movie was?

also the pacific islands are seen as a tropical paradise where conflict seems to be hard to imagine.

also it wan't really man vs man
and there wasn't really much internal struggle.

the characters were a bit flat.
and the conflict wasn't really interesting.
also no love interest or romantic tension
at all in this movie.

little girls like romance in their movies.

...

This. That awful Let It Go became a meme for a couple of years. Even the gays tagged on to it.

Moana's Your Welcome is a way better song.

>implying parents want their kids to see a movie about a shitskin named MOANa

Hmm yes, it's so difficult to figure out.

I enjoyed Moana much more.

A girl I live with absolutely loves Frozen, and she's nineteen so she'd have been 15 the year it came out, Frozen seems to appeal to everyone from little girls who are barely beginning to learn how to speak, all the way up to teenagers, Moana just isn't the same, girl would much rather be a magical princess in a romantic looking frozen land than a hawaiian surfer.

Another detail regarding the girl I live with is that she comes from the part of the country which is a desert and never ever gets any snow.

the first Ice Age was such a good little movie, it's a pity that making a franchise out of these assures they'll get at least some money, but it destroys what made the first one special.

Timing. Nobody wants to watch a movie with warm weather, watern and beaches in the winter. Should've a released in late April or July maybe

Damn shame, Moana's far superior to Frozen

>tfw I watched it with a friend and the entire way home he complained about how they "shoehorned" a (((strong woman lead))) and how unrealistic a women tribe leader would be

I wish he would stop doing this

>that difference in foreign gross
How many years will it take before Hollywood realises other countries don't like blacks as much as US.

>Nobody wants to watch a movie with warm weather, water and beaches in the Winter

What? Do people actually only watch movies if the weather in it corresponds with real life?

Why do you even visit this place if you hate that behaviour so much?

Sounds like he browses Sup Forums

sounds like your friend would fit in here and you should fuck off back to plebbit/dumblr andd kys yourself

Your image seems to imply that Inside Out is a good film. Also, notice how films that earn a lot in foreign markets are completely disconnected from US, while Inside Out is set in US. Turns out a kid in China doesn't want to see a kid in US, he'd rather see a fucking squirrel.

Moana did poorly because it lost the family market to pic related. People would rather watch qt twinks get raped by animals instead of a nig

I watched Pinocchio (1940) the other day. It is really sad how much of a step back kids animation has taken in 75 years.

if it's a rehash like you say, why would people watch it

...

People dont want to watch a cultural history lesson, they want cute snowmen and ice witches.
Also the songs in Frozen were much better, dont underestimate the amount of people who like Frozen just because of that one song

Frozen had good songs sung by decent/good singers in a way that wasn't kiddified but more like standard Broadway. The drama and humor was well mixed and had perfect balance.

Kids aren't stupid and they like things that aren't dumbed down for them.

>Also the songs in Frozen were much better

The only fucking good song in Frozen is the duet between the two girls in the Ice castle

>Frozen had good songs
>Sung in a way that wasn't kiddified
>Kids aren't stupid

Little girls just can't Let it Go.

getting real tired of your shit Carlos

Big markets like China don't want to see "people of color" in movies. That shit has never made money. The Princess and the Frog revolving around black people was what killed 2D disney animation.

Reminder that this is Moana's mom in real life

>and have similar themes
Not at all. One is about how love can bring out the best in someone who's dealing with emotional issues, and one is about.. what was Moana about?

Because lesbian incest twist at the end made people horny and in turn made fanart explode which in turn made people go see it.

Do you really think shit like Overwatch would have 25,000,000 players if it didn't have fuck loads of porn?

>Moana doesn't appeal to chinks.

It performed better there than any other market outside the US.

I'd make her Moan-a

first post, best post.

My niece (4) said she didn't want to watch Moana because she's ugly. She finally watched it a couple of days ago, but only because her classmates were all talking about it.

>like didn't some SJW run a shit fit how stereotyped or whitewashed or something this movie was
No, if anything it's been praised for it's depiction of the culture, considering actual Pacific islanders worked on it.

People love propaganda more than a real story.

>FIRST POST BEST POST
>HERE IS ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE OF A FUCKING 4 YEAR OLD
>YOU TOTALLY EXPLAINED 100% WHY FROZEN DID BETTER THAN MOANA

Or, you know, there is multiple factors.

1. White, as you said
2. Cute mascots, not fucking chickens
3. Good songs, including a stupidly popular one (I personally like the metal covers of the song)
4. People enjoyed the bait-and-switch
5. People enjoyed the heavily implied lesbianism
6. People enjoyed the heavily implied incest
7. People enjoyed the 'tropes' of the genre which were successfully changed to make a different experience
8. It the 'winter' season film after they had done the others
9. The locations were much more interesting than the fucking ocean
10. The story had clear goals, it wasn't just a random thing
11. It was well paced, the entire child scene in Monana was completely pointless (other than showing her topless as a kid)
12. She wasn't really princessy anyway. She was just a regular girl in many ways

There is lots of reasons why Frozen did better.

Moana didnt have one single hit song that carried the film. like Frozen did.

They both sucked

Jesus Christ frozenfags are autistic. Please fuck off and go back to beating off to Elsa on Anna porn

Moana wasn't made to earn money, it was made to meet diversity quotas, now that they have that out of the way they can go back to making their regular billion dollar movies.

>It's a "Frozenfag attempts to make an argument but makes it completely obvious he's only defending it because of wank material" episode

who's that semen demon

No one gives a fuck about those oceanic bullshits except to at most read a wikipedia article about it and think "hey, this is neat, didn't know they had a whole mythology".

The north, snow, royalty, all the stuff in Frozen has been romanticized, written about and people want to live in that atmosphere. It's just better.

Also Frozen had Let it go.

Chinese want to watch white people, not some island monkeys

I only watched the first one and can barely remember it, are they just constantly outrunning glaciers as everything around them continually freezes over?

>state utter bullshit
>get told why they're not completely right
>WOW SO AUTISTIC

not that faggot, but this literally why Sup Forums thinks Sup Forums is a shithole, nobody bothers to actually discuss films.

It's just one thing after the other, the first film was supposed to be set in the ice age which wasn't set to end anytime soon, but it was alright if they did play around with that in a sequel, but then in every film something wacky happens, the first film was just the group travelling with a human baby, then in the second the ice is melting and the mammoth finds a mate, then in the third one it turns out dinosaurs survived in a giant undergroud world. Then in the fourth one the mammoths already have a kid who's an annoying teenager, the continents are reshaping and there are pirated lead by an ape.

>Both movies are very similar and have similar themes.
lol

>a couple of years
It's been a good four years since Frozen came out and it's still being milked for all it's worth
