To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand baseball. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of pitching trajectories most of the sliders will go over a typical batter's swing. There's also the coach's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his management style - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Babe Ruth's TV movie (1998), for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of the bullpen, to realize that they're not just talented- they are saying something deep about AMERICA. As a consequence people who dislike baseball truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in the Joe Buck's existencial catchphrase "WE WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW NIGHT," which itself is an obvious reference to the respect he had for his father Jack. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as MLB playoff's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a LET'S GO YANKEES tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

>actually more nervous for the dodgers now if they have to face the yankees instead of astros because of black magic fuckery at work

APOLOGIZE

Why is this fucker the ONLY relief pitcher to ever get credit? I never see a single relief pitcher on any "best of all time" lists besides Rivera. Is he the most consistent closer ever? Yes, best longevity? Yes, but for an all time team I would not pick him for my closer. Numerous closers have had better seasons than him, Britton from last year blows away any Rivera season.

Is it just because he's a Yankee? I have never seen a relief pitcher be considered a shoe-in for first ballot in the HOF besides him, I mean ffs Trevor Hoffman missed the cut his first two years on the ballot

Post yours

Is he wearing mascara

...

>Britton from last year blows away any Rivera season.

kys retard brittons manager didnt even use him with the season on the line while torre and girardi would give mariano the ball for 2 or 3 innings in the postseason and he did the job. He blew a game 7 of the world series and every yankee fan still loves him, he is the GOAT.

Francona terribly managed this series and he has only himself to blame.

>A's 20 game win streak
>Indians 22 game win streak
>0 rings between them

Remember when we told Indianfags that winning 20 in row meant fuck all because no one would care if they didn't win the WS?

Fuck off, Dodgers are about to sweep the Yankees and the world isn't going to hear the end of it. The only question is how many of the injuries sustained during the "celebrations" will end up being fatal.

Team FUN and EXCITEMENT

Take a look at Mo's postseason numbers, that's what separates him from every other closer

>Euros and South Americans talking about baseball
Go watch divegrass you fags.

...

no u

What's his end game?

After watching the dodgers dismantle the "unstoppable" dbacks after apparently losing the post season 3 weeks before it starts I don't think dodger fans need to be worried about anything

Nats look like shit and sleeping in the worst time
Cubs don't even look competitive
Astros beat a inexperienced sox and are about to beat another inexperienced team
Yankees won't make it past the CS and if they do which I pray happens it'll be a easy fucking ride to the WS

I'm not even over confident if you've been a fan of a ship winning team you know this feeling dodger fans are having right now

It's bliss , relaxed state of mind knowing the competition is not ready

>nobody will ever forget the glory of that magical ALDS-losing season
"true" then, "true" again now

>yfw both losedians and chiraq will get btfo

Even if the Cubs get knocked out tomorrow, we still won something to assert our dominance.

>I hurt myself, today...
Why is life pain, desu?

Don't be so mad, my Cleveland based friend. Foreigners are welcome.

METS

Fuck off faggot.

it was a coinflip buddy

someone was going to hurt themself today

Dodgers are going to win it all easily. Degenerates should bet everything they own on it directly with the local mafia.

>it was a coinflip buddy
And yet it's always us that lose and end up broken hearted. Even when we have a winner-take-all game at home with the best pitcher in baseball on the hill. I'm going in the basement and never coming out. Life is pointless.

Remember when Cucked Kluckber was a big game pitcher?

Lmao

Utterly fucking exposed.

TIP-TOP-KEK!

once i saw trevor bauer was blocking people on twitter in the middle of game 4, i knew it was done. As a Sox fan I know all about terry losing the clubhouse, Kluber was probably having some chicken and beer before tonight

Go suck Girardi's cock you fucking New Yorker. I'm sick of seeing my teams choking whenever they have the slightest bit of success. It hurts even more when a foreigner rubs it in your face.

drob is one of our best relief pitchers, all of them have stepped up and thrown great.

what New York artist are you listening to tonight to celebrate the Yankees win, bros?

For me, it's Billy Joel

>you didn't see this coming a mile away when the commentator on mlb network kept saying "expect the unexpected" during game 2 of indians vs yankees

I'm a Braves fan and every time I heard him say that, it solidified to me the Indians were going to lose the series to the Yankees.

What else was more unexpected so far in this postseason than the Indians going up 2-0 in the series, only to lose it in 5 games? Nothing.

I also thought it was funny the commentary guy during game 4 was talking about Santana's home run zone is middle down, then the next pitch is middle down and Santana crushes it.

>see this coming a mile away
Except I did. As soon as they lost game 4 the way they did I knew it was over. I don't know how or why but I knew they would choke. It's always the same. We never win. The more highly rated we are the earlier and more spectacularly we crash out of the playoffs.

youtube.com/watch?v=LCINmOZGV6Q

>terry losing the clubhouse
What? If anything this team wants to win TOO BAD. They aren't lazy or uncaring. The clubhouse was a fucking funeral parlor tonight. They want to win so bad they press and make uncharacteristic choker mistakes. Like repeatedly waving at Tanaka's splitter or making 6 errors in the final two games. I literally couldn't even watch game 5 after it was 0-3 because I knew they were choking it.

Sports are rigged and fixed, the sooner you recognize this, the better.

It's going to be Dodgers vs Yankees in a battle of the big market teams.

youtube.com/watch?v=_pyuiLl6h-E

A bit of Piano Man never hurt anyone.

You're looking at it

...

Aaron Judge

Or

Jose Altuve

If you have control of the clubhouse you don't let your players go on Twitter to block people while the game is still going on or go back and forth with Yankee fans during the series (Jose ramirez). They aren't lazy? Game 4 was an embarrassment and they made numerous errors after being a good defensive team all year, and even in the top of the 9th they made a huge error. Did you see how lazily Bruce just threw the ball in there that lindor bobbled? Had no sense of urgency, did not look like a guy playing his heart out

Step aside, Cleveland. We'll handle this.

literally crying

undercover sleeper from queens,

only redeemable think the

>mest

have done all season

altuve
fucking obviously

No 1 cares who did bants on twitter during the series. They made errors because they were pressing. Gio Urshela proved all season he is elite defensive player, I'd say hes every bit as good as Machado or anyone else defensively and yet he made two errors in game 4. The Bruce/Lindor throw today was another routine play that got away. They choked. They tried too hard, got nervous and choked. They didn't handle the pressure and blew it. If anything it'd have been nice if they had a few high priced stars who didn't care so much it would have made the team looser and more relaxed.

The astros are the good guys in this situation, right?

Because you're downplaying the importance of consistency and longevity, especially for relievers in the current age of baseball whose seasons are pretty small sample sizes. Any random fuck can put up great numbers as a reliever for one year, only one reliever can stay as great as Mariano did for as long as he did, and no one is even remotely close. Maybe if Kimbrel and/or Jansen can stay as good as they are for another 10 years.

everyone is bad guys except the padres, probably, cause that's how life is

>HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH

w e w

Astros are the good guys for sure. I was all in for the Yankees and now I want them to lose.
Sup Forumsstros!

Astros have a redemption arc from 2015

no he's just pretty

Plus that water thing

Fuck no. We need good ratings to save baseball

but they kicked the yankees ass in 2015

Astros are the underdogs. The last thing anybody wants to watch is another world series with the Yankees.

Imagine your whole city shutting down because of a rainstorm lmao, like what are you people dumb or something?

>Astros are the underdogs

They're the clear favorites just like the indians were

Largest amount of rainfall in one time than any other time in US history.

I was there. It rained heavily for a week without letting up. Underpasses looked like oversized pools filled 14+ feet deep.

try living in the Midwest during winter
the mere FORECAST of snow, as little as 6 inches, is enough to cause widespread school cancelations
i wish this was exageration

It's all about the perception though. People who know baseball know the Astros are the favorites, people who don't know baseball only know the Yankees have won a shitload of world series and the idea of them winning yet another one is boring

>team that won 100 games are the underdogs

Lol

Watch the Yankees win. I mean seriously, a rebuilding Yankees team beat a team that won 22 in a row. Why is baseball so weird?

Yankees have been in two world series in the last fifteen years lad, many teams have been in more during that time frame. If anything the SF Giants being in the WS again would be more of a bore than the Yankees

>If anything the SF Giants being in the WS again would be more of a bore than the Yankees
I wish I could be that flavor of bored again

:^(

Sure but if people know the Yankees have won 27 championships and the Astros have won 0, who are they more likely to root for?

An entire team of chokers. Wow.

kek people don't even have a reason to hate the yankees anymore, all our best players are either homegrown or acquired through trades so they "they buy everyone" argument is out. Before someone says chapman, he sucked dick for half the year and was a big reason why we didn't win the east. Love the mental gymnastics people have to do to try and figure out how they can hate sanchez/judge/severino/didi kekekek

...

All the teams I cared about died horrific deaths this year. White Sox-Art, Cardinals-archenemy clinched on homefield and the team gave up, Dbacks- swept, Indians-JUST. I need a new team for the rest of the month to dickride.

0-1 yankees
2-3 astros
4-5 nats
6-7 dodgers
8-9 cusb

faggot

My official prediction:
>Yankees beat astros due to better pitching performance.
>nats beat cubs today because idk the baseball gods are weird
>dodgers beat nats because nats do typical nats things in the postseason
>Dodgers beat Yankees 4-0 or 3-1

no habla

>dumb yankee fans think they will get both harper and machado

You will get one, but there's no chance for both. And if Clint Frazier is actually the real deal, it'll be Machado and not Harper

Harper will be a Cub or Ranger.
