It's almost been 1 year since the release of DAMN

>it's almost been 1 year since the release of DAMN.

What the fuck? It feels like it only released a few months ago...

Anyways. Now that the dust has REALLY settled. What are your final thoughts on this album?

Attached: 18-kendrick-lamar-damn.w710.h473.jpg (710x473, 92K)

It's pretty bad. Only song I still care about is FEAR.

bad

fuck kendrick

his worst album yet, first half of DNA is really good and XXX is decent, rest is mediocre to garbage, his voice is somehow even more annoying on this album than his previous albums

Lol yeah. Fuck Kendrick for being so effortlessly superior to any other hiphop artist.

The second half of DNA makes the damn song. Do you listen to music on phone speakers? Also Pride is the best track

It's a great album, the only song I don't like is GOD.

Auhhhhhh haah!

I will never understand Sup Forumss hatred of this album, it's his second best behind good kid

if the only hip hop artists you listen to are Kendrick and Kanye, then yea it's great

Pride is pretty good, along with a few other key tracks, but overall I'd say its his weakest album

his best album, he shows really great strides in his storytelling on this - able to get a concept across without having to stop the album a hundred times to play voicemails and narrator clips.

I don't understand these types of comments. Please grow balls and state what bunk ass rapper you think is better than Kendrick.

Meh

>storytelling

I feel like DAMN. is the only album of his that doesn't have any storytelling desu

>hat are your final thoughts on this album?

Attached: file.png (912x796, 484K)

did you even listen to the album?

It's great, but 4:44 was the better traditional rap album last year
People who say it's shit are just trying to be contrarian

It's okay. He could do better. The singles were the only good songs on that whole thing. DNA slaps hard as fuck and Humble was EVERYWHERE last year and for good reason. I never really tired of them, but they were the only songs that ever really stuck with me. Every other song was so boring. There was no other excitement or any ear grabbing moments. GKMC still sticks with me and I can listen through all the way, same with TPAB, but DAMN is just okay and not as memorable. Even the B-Sides to TPAB were better than DAMN. Hopefully he gets back on track and stops shooting for the charts with his next project.

Yeah bruh we be being done do be wish wished this had MORE BANGERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

XD

Thinking gcmc is his best album is likely why you don't understand Sup Forumss distaste for it.

Like all of his albums it growed on me and I finally start to appreciate it for what It is. And it's brillant.
And he managed to make Rihanna acceptable to me ... which is ... very strange.

TPAB>GKMC>UU>DAMN.> S.80
One of the best hip-hop albums of last year and I've got so much replay value from it.

i second this

Attached: 1482207708991.jpg (1053x948, 257K)

Album for white people to listen while working out

That's actually No Love Deep Web

Let me guess, TPAB is his best?

pride is best track

only decent songs
>DUCKWORTH
>GOD
>FEAR
>FEEL
>PRIDE

Let me guess, you're one of a thousand retards on the internet rn splitting hairs about this exact selection of albums

OD - 7
S.80 - 8
gkmc - 8.5
tpab - 9.5
uu - 9
damn. - 5.5

section.80 > DAMN ... that's new... and just incorrect but whatever.

it's still shit

DNA, Element, Humble, Lust, first part of XXX, and Duckworth are the only decent songs, rest are B sides
And loyalty and Love are the worst songs of his career.

>TPAB
>not the best hip hop album since the 1990s
user...

I unironically like it a lot.
TPAB > DAMN > GKMC

and I always end up playing it on the regular, so I feel you when you say it doesn't feel old at all.

I agree 100% with this.

Attached: 1516917787054.jpg (637x548, 32K)

It's definitely the only Kendrick project that's actually just too boring to sit through, including his OG mixtapes. How do you release a project of B-sides and throwaways from your previous album and it's still more enjoyable than this?

Attached: 461158-spongebob-square-pants-anime-spongebob.jpg (774x1032, 70K)

entire album is shit. better off listening to any other artist

>tfw Kendrick could have single-handedly brought back jazz rap with TPAB, UU, and more but instead released pop trash

The thing that really bugs me was the used The Heart Part 4 to transition into this DAMN era. That song is better than almost everything on the album.

Future

This right here is correct. The first few seconds of Love make me hit the skip button with lightning speed.

A$AP Rocky
BROCKHAMPTON
Chance the Rapper
Danny Brown
Denzel Curry
MF DOOM
Drake
Frank Ocean
G-Eazy
Jay-Z
J. Cole
Joey Bada$$
Joyner Lucas
Killer Mike
Lil Yachty
Logic
Migos
Rich Chigga
Travis Scott
Tyler the Creator
Vince Staples
XXXTentacion
YG
Young Thug
21 Savage

These except God. Worst song he's ever recorded.

well since i haven't seen it here since the annoying fucking hype up...guess it sucks?

Full of very interesting (especially for pop-rap) athmospheric beats, but the more poppier songs ruin a lot of it.
That being said, without them it'd probably be even more boring than it already is, since one of the main complaints was always "no bangers except for DNA and HUMBLE".
Honestly almost every song is a highlight in its own (except for LOYALTY, LOVE and GOD), but as an album it is bad.
ELEMENT, PRIDE, LUST and FEAR are my favorites

>And loyalty and Love are the worst songs of his career.

agreed, i'd add God to that list as well

Attached: beyonce-lemonadev200000000000.png (1368x1024, 2.09M)

God is honestly so terrible, instant skip whenever it comes on imo.

Great album by a great artist.

I don't even like Kendrick, but damn you have basic taste. The only rapper better than him on that list is Jay Z and maybe Danny Brown

>G-Eazy
>J Cole
>Logic
damn I'd hate to have your awful, awful taste

Attached: seriously.jpg (323x321, 25K)

It's good, like a 6/10

>not A$AP Rocky
>not MF DOOM
>not Frank Ocean
>not Joyner Lucas
>not Travis Scott
>not Tyler the Creator
>not YG
>not 21 Savage

You're the one with basic taste, faggot.

And I'd hate to have your awful, awful brain, what with its lack in ability to discern a joke.

He surely is a great artist but this album made me realize that i hate his voice. It was okay on TBAB because that album has an almost operatic/stage feel where he plays various characters but here...

This except remove Humble

>loyalty and Love are the worst songs of his career.
yes yes yes yes yes

Damn was actually a 7. since everyone's listing the good tracks, here are my favorites that aren't desperate bAnGeR grabs: Feel, Pride, XXX, Fear (best track), Duckworth. It's not his worst project, but it's close. I think there's a lot of great content here nonetheless. I just hear bits of gkmc on fear and shit and reminds me of how good kendrick /can/ be.

Humble is a good song.

Overrated and underrated at the same time

too much trap. bad and uninspired trap at that

nah ur just dumb

High highs and low lows. Some of the best tracks are the best of his career so far, while the bad ones at the the worst of it. His dumb accent takes some time to get used to. Some songs don't flow together very well, others do. The reverse album thing is a dumb gimmick. Lyrics are more introspective than his previous albums and for the most part it works out well. Bad choruses has been his weak point and while there are still some terrible ones present (humble, god), he's made some decent ones as well (lust, fear)
Best tracks: Pride, Lust, Fear, Duckworth
Worst tracks: Loyalty, Humble, God
5-6 it's ok

>Worst
>Humble

Attached: 1460668202656.png (509x501, 288K)

This but duckworth is the only good one

yeah yeah

Didn't listen

Attached: file.png (278x285, 131K)

It's a good album, but it's also really annoying.

It's neat seeing the visual media he did for it, and it is an interesting album. That said, the other day Humble came on the radio while I was in a Lyft, and it was so fucking annoying I couldn't stand it.

lmao get your life together

why don't you get YOUR life together, pleb

DUCKWORTH was the best song he ever released

It's fine, the worst kendrick album very easily but far from a "bad" album. He shot too much for the mainstream on this and failed to deliver an actually satisfying and cohesive album in the process. Some of his worst songs are on this album (GOD., LOVE., LOYALTY).

Hopefully after this pop success he can/will return to making good albums again.

ranking:
>TPAB
>GKMC
>UU
>S.80
>DAMN.

best songs:
>DNA
>LUST
>XXX
>FEAR
>DUCKWORTH

worst songs:
>GOD
>LOYALTY
>LOVE
>HUMBLE

funny joke, faggot!!!

Absolute cash grab , his worst album by a long shot

It's cus there needledick drones

fuck off retard

Me and my wife's boyfriend LOVE this album! THE best rap album of the 2000s-2010s. The only album that even came NEAR it was Revival

kek

Worse than Section.80

this right here, fpbp

cool guy, you read the first comment, agreed cause you want to say something and use a fucking meme accronyme to say that you often use internet. coooooooooool

I don't like tpab

I love damn

Ama

Never heard it or any song off it. I actually don't mind his stuff but I don't really care that much. That humble song sounds like it'd be alright from the way people go on about it but whatever

What didn't you like about tpab?

Probably my favorite Kendrick album along with TPAB. Great stuff.

Better than GKMC, not quite as good as TPAB
I think that its underrated by hardcore fans and overrated by mainstream publications

His worst album.

I mean I like Damn, but it's easily 3rd best behind GKMC and TPAB

WE
WUS
BLACK
ISRAELITES

Jokes on you, I listen to both faggot.

A handful of songs on there are pretty mediocre, but overall I think it’s good.

This is some low-effort bait we got here

lol so many plebs falling for this obvious joke

His sellout release, basically just a boring pop-trap release. All the songs are mediocre at best, and the lyrics are garbage. Not to talk about the fucking shitty colabs as well...

>better than lil pump
Not so fast

feels like way longer than a year more like...everything is so fast paced these days, and unfortunately this didn't make the cut for me, think it sucks really.

>loyalty
>God
>love
those are my least favorite songs on the album, everyone has 3 songs they dont like from the album. Its more introspective than his other releases but the concept is so lazily done he shouldn't have a concept at all. He released the album backwards like its a new thing and that was a clear cashgrab. It doesn't live up to the standards he set for himself besides a few songs which are clear highlights

Look at that nose hahahaha

Basically I agree with this.

The way I see it:
TPaB > uu > GKMC > D > S80
