How pleb can this place get

Ramones are weird, because they're so mind-numbingly simple that they can actually be quite hard to get into because there's almost an expectation that there should be "more" to them, but there just isn't.

They think fucking Radiohead are "different" or "out there" lmao

People on Sup Forums don't like music. They only like the lore.

And the ramones are? lol

Ramones are pleb filter.

They're actually inspiring because they were literally just some random dudes in leather jackets with short loud songs and this whole low budget not giving a shit vibe when music was taken over by art nuts and hippies. They lived just barely long enough to be on early simpsons and that's just fine.

Road to Ruin aka the album where they dumbed down their music and adopted a more arena rock sound.

The Ramones [Sire, 1976]

I love this record--love it, even though it flirts with brutality in much the same way Midnight Rambler flirts with rape. Not that these boys condone any nasties, mind you, merely hint that their music has some fairly ominous sources they tap into. The references to Nazism do make me a bit uneasy, but it's always been my theory that good rock and roll had damn well better make you uneasy. It's clean the way the Dolls weren't, sprightly the way the Velvets weren't, and just plain listenable like Black Sabbath never were. And I hear it cost $6400 to put on plastic. A

I do admit the production on RTR gives the songs more power, but the lyrics don't have the playfulness or humor of their previous albums.

R2R or RTR?

They got booed while opening for Aerosmith in 1977. Steven Tyler had to apologize to them for the rudeness of the fans.

I admire their ability to write the same song 40 times.

You'd be surprised at just how many artists write one song and record it about 50x.
