Both the singers aren't very expressive through it all. Very monotonous.
The pop songs have catchy hooks but don't really have any real content beyond that.
I really don't see why the album should've sacrificed complex harmonics for the sake of faux avant garde tendencies when both were viable.
Outside Heroin, none of the less straightforward songs don't justify their length, often just noodling around.
This album has all the things I love about alternative rock music (the edgy offbeat techniques and atmosphere) with all the things I hate about it (plodding nature, random noodling around that gets passed off as atmospheric when it's no different from blues or tech wank, weak one trick pony vocalists, repetitive chord progressions with non-existent variation.)
