Best release year of the nineties

Came across this top 50 list and realized how much I loved from this year. Is there a better year?

Great year for Rock.

i don't know but jar of flies and their unplugged album are really really great i don't even like the vocal style but it really works well in this setting

Alice in Chains is one of my top guilty pleasures

Kys

wtf Around the Fur came out same year as FA∞
fineyeearindeed

Alice in Chains is solidly butt rock but an excellent group nonetheless

1998 for me

Massive Attack - Mezzanine
Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
The Smashing Pumpkins - Adore
Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing
System of a Down - System of a Down
Bad Sector - Dolmen Factory
Cat Power - Moon Pix
Pole - CD 1
Korn - Follow the Leader
Hole - Celebrity Skin
Hooverphonic - Blue Wonder Power Milk
AIR - Moon Safari
Garbage - Version 2.0
Gas - Zauberberg

1994

This, although that's the year I was born so I'm strangely bias towards it. I'm sure the OP prolly would have been born in 94

kys pls

They aren't solidly buttrock though, you're being too careless with that term, it's like you don't know what makes a rock band a buttrock band.

HEY AH NA NAH

I like '94 most overall but 1995 is arguably the best year for hip-hop.

I'm a /shugazi/ fag so 91, 93, and 96 are my fav years

No, they're proto-butt rock, just like Faith No More are proto-nu metal but not actually nu metal

92, 93 and 94 were peak years in music

but, buttrock is just post grunge,

That's pretty spot on actually

1985
dunno what I like from that year
