Certainly not that one. Magma is Gojira's worst album by far and has lowed my opinion of them drastically. I'm expecting their next release to be a disaster.

>posts entry tier album
>mediocre even within the band's discography

Come on guys, it wasn't ''that'' bad.

trips wasted on such a plebian opinion. Magma is on point.

this is a really strong contender to this year's best album.

These.
It was though.

it isn't. only them "muh harsh music" niggers complain about that album.

It was an appropriate way for Duplantier brothers to grief, that is why they toned down their music, even if "l'enfant..." was already headed that way

oh look, another generic sounding black metal record...

This is not out yet, but it's definitely gonna be metal record of the year 2018. It'll be a couple new songs, one of which is:

Slugdge - Esoteric Malacology
Cormorant - Diaspora
Black Dhalia Murders - Nightbringers
Contaminated - Final Man
Dreadnought - A Wake in Sacred Waves
Portal - ION
White Ward - Futility Report
Soen - Lykaia
Entheos - Dark Future
Archspire - Relentless Mutilation

3/10 user, that shit is horribly boring and uninspired

Pic obviously unrelated since Magma came out in 2016.

Do post more bands that sound like him please.

Deserves a lot more appreciation

what's innovative about literal minutes long of tremolo picking and basic forms of blast beats?

youtube.com/watch?v=Zt-hn00UwX4 Educate yourself

Not really metal imo but it was my 2017 AOTY so you get a pass

Not very innovative but they do have their own style and get the feeling across
Der Weg... are pretty good

with a spoonful of folk passages to keep it interesting.

youtube.com/watch?v=6rOQHol4rQc a better examplefrom the same guys

It was my 2017 AOTY as well.

this album takes a few spins to get into, but it is really a refreshing experiment of sound, if you're into ambiental/progressive death metal

Sounds nothing like Mooncitadel though. It sounds more like typical pagan metal stuff (the hard rock/thrash chord chugs with melodies beside it in the first song, more straightforward black metal riffing in the second song to accommodate for a larger keys presence.) Mooncitadel kinda incorporates all the folky stuff into the riffing itself, so it doesn't have to rely on excessive clean passages or a very large keyboard presence. The end result is far more metal and visceral than what a pagan folk metal group like Pagan Reign or later Nokturnal Mortum do.

>too intense for metal tourists
>too complex for narrow minded pseudo-elitist metal "fans"
>triggers whitey alt righties after making fun of them
>triggers lefties with their attractive, fit, white vocalist, Doug Moore, who won sexiest dude in metal
>tricks RYM into thinking their music's aleatoric when there's clearly a riff based structure in there like all metal music, proving that RYM is for pseuds
>tricks ANUS/DMU into thinking it's mathcore, proving that those guys can't into rhythms, just autism
>guitarist literally a member of Chad Thundercock (go check metallum if you don't believe me)
>manages to break new ground in metal as well

Is there any band more BASED than Pyrrhon right now in the genre?
