>have vast amounts of unused land surrounding your city
>don't use it for farms
How do they sustain themselves?

Never heard of "fourth wall"?

In the books that's what they're used for.

They had farms but the Orcs came and destroyed everything. Everyone ran inside the massive walls to get away from them.

they survive off of orc flesh

>Be Gothmog
>Have ram that can smash through anything
>Don't use it first and instead waste hundreds of orcs trying to knock a gate down with a smaller ram

So, meat was always on the menu?

>be gandalf
>Sacrifice my life to save the hobbits
>Oh right I'm immortal

Hello newfriend :^)

Enjoy your stay. You are here forever.

Blame Hackson.

Shit, the city looks a lot grander and more epic than the soggy shitpile from the movie

This. It's been one of the major issues of the adaption. The city blew.

Just like in my chink cartoons

Why aren't there farms? Besides that, isn't it a bit small for a city?

What motivates people to ask a question already asked and answered?

this
the people fleeing into the city is reminiscent of a medieval castle being the protection of the smallfolks around
too bad they didn't have this in the movie

nice artwork btw

well this is more like I imagined.

Go fuck yourself Christpher Tolkien you cunt.

"Pelennor Fields"

Haha, the Hackson version is so lifeless and colorless. I guess it's to show how the city had crippled and decayed but still. There's no grand feel

It's not supposed to feel grand. It's supposed to feel like the last bastion against the hordes of Sauron who lives literally next door. They're exhausted from fighting for years against the shit little orcs that swarm them constantly and have just enough time to keep themselves alive, nevermind rebuild their crumbling city. Plus Denethor, their only leader left, has gone mad and tries to fucking burn his own family he's that twisted. It's a place of little hope and even less joy.

why couldn't they just fly on this big birds to mordor?

>the people fleeing into the city
This doesn't happen in the books. In fact the opposite happens: Pippin sees the old and the young fleeing to the safety of the south.

Yeah but the way it looks it looks like a fucking little cottage in a mountain and not a decayed grand fortress
