Hello Sup Forums!

Hello Sup Forums!

It's us from Criterion Collection.

We would LOVE to know which films should be part of our collection.

POST EM!

Why haven't you niggers released A Matter of Life and Death yet?

U-Turn (1997) - Oliver Stone

And be quick about it.

Stalker you fuck heads.

Die Dreigroschenoper (1931) and Ishiro Honda movies.

Either pic related or other early Chen Kaige films such as The Big Parade, Life on a String and King of the Children. The Emperor and the Assassin would be boss, too.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Now, user.

Let's try to do this civilized. Eagle-Lion films won't hard their rights to the film to us. Sorry. Pick another.

Hey, Snyder. Go back to community college and take some film classes.

all about lily chou chou
inland empire

As of right now. The film is under Sony Pictures Entertainment. Our relationship with them has been on the rocks lately. Also, they value keeping their film rights and coming out with new versions in the future.

The Passenger

It's a crime that it doesn't have a bluray.

Some of my colleagues didn't like the film when they showed it at our theater. More importantly, we're trying to make a profit. Not go under.

We will keep that in mind.

which?

Do you mean which theater?

You guys need more Baykino. Get out a special edition of 13 Hours or The Island both of which have barebones DVDs.

Last month, we held a meeting with Michael Bay about doing a blu-ray of Armageddon. He wanted to be hands on with process and we refused that thought. He snapped and started throwing chairs out of our offices. He even took our coffee pot that we bought from ikea.

Thanks for putting Death Race 2000 and Rock N Roll High School on filmstruck. Get me blus of them too please.

>Celine and Julie Go Boating
This and L'amour fou are getting BD releases soon. Not from Criterion.

Like I said. The companies trying to make a profit. Not go under. Pick a better title.

All of the Elvis movies

John Ford and Sam Peckinpah Releases.q

I meant which film, I named two.

So far, from our data from Filmstruck. It shows that our viewers didn't take part of watching those movies in high numbers. It's not worth it.

How about The Grand Budapest Hotel?

What's your relationship with Jerry Bruckheimer like these days? Both Crimson Tide and Con Air have really shitty DVDs with no special features that would probably sell well.

That's a lot of movies for our team to do. We would be tired, hungry, and probably die on a toilet.

The rest of the Lynch films. There still isn't any region 1 blu ray of lost highway or wild at heart what the fuck

Through a Glass Darkly by Bergman not having a BD is insane.

We had some discussions with Wes Anderson about his past work. The company and Mr. Anderson both agree it's past we relate his past work and go on from there.

Both. We have no interest on making Jap films that have come out this decade.

Mr. Bruckheimer is quiete a character. His main goal for his current work is a sequel for Top Gun, and development of new TV shows. His interest on working with us is very low.

Rare foreign recommendations

The Lobster (2015) Goodbye Lenin (2003) and Hero (2002)

It is noted that Mr. Lynch would want his films to be re-relased on other platforms such as us. However, in his will, he states that he doesn't want this to happen until his death.

Lovely pick. I'll past it around with team.

Any plans on releasing more classic westerns? The Red River and My Darling Clementine blu-rays are two of my most valued possessions.

No.

Are pursuit on the western film genre is very bumpy. We need to have a good release. So, we are trying work with Sergio's estate to get the rights for a Dollars Trilogy.

After Hours

At least Viva Las Vegas and Jailhouse Rock. Those are his best.

How about Keaton's Go West?

>are pursuit
It would help maintain the fantasy if you could avoid basic fuckups

Any plans for The Fountain or any other of Aronofsky's work? I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened yet.

Shhh.

You want the flash sale or not?

Los Olvidados. Early Mexican era Bunuel is nonexistent

I want an All Night Long box set

Year of Living Dangerously
More Val Lewton stuff
Excalibur
Conan The Barbarian (unironcally)

No.

The Korine library you fucks

Any Kitano stuff?

how did eraserhead and mulholland drive happen then?

Someone wants to fap to j lo

Shin Godzilla and End of Evangelion

And we want Citizen Kane. But it's not gonna happen.
Sorry, no.
I'm just started working for the company back in August of last year. I'll email a co-worker of mine.

Lost Highway
The Room

The latter mostly for behind the scenes footage and shit
also thanks for McCabe and Mrs. Miller

Give it a couple of years.

Hero was decent

Like I said before. The company is trying to make profit. Not go under.

Why would you have Lena Duhams' film be apart of your collection and not Sofia Coppola? Who is one of the best if not the best contemporary female directors? Even if she's well past her time The Virgin Suicides deserves a Criterion release.

Thanks for listening.

Harmony Korine's stuff

Why no answer.

Das Boot you ffffuckers.

Fish Story

it's a god tier japanese movie that it's only US release is a dvd that's cropped to fullscreen

stop

Refn and Villeneuve need some criterion releases

no

I always questioned why the company went for that film. The only Sofia Coppola movie that is great, is :out In Translation. I'll bring it up in the next meeting.

Sorry, for missing you. Harmony's works is very colorful. None of his films can bring potential profit for us.

Why?

prove you work for Criterion, you autist fuck

What about Aronofsky? Special editions of Pi or The Fountain would net a boffo cume.

Altered States or the uncut version of The Devils

Fake, tons of people would buy Kroine's stuff. I see people talking about it all the time on IMDb and Facebook.

2nd on the Elvis movies.

Not familiar with hat film. I'l take a note of that.

Acquiring German film rights is very hard these days. Das Boot was a great film and our team knows there's a perfect place for that film.

The company is trying to spend less money on getting Jap films. I''m sorry.

Black Swan is a film were eyeing. But the studio is still in awe of having the rights.

I'd argue for you to watch it again. But I'm happy you will bring up LiT because that's really what I want, thanks.

wrong about Korine tho my man.

why? all their films are available on dvd and bluray.

criterion/bfi and the like need to release more films that havent had a digital transfer.

Let's try to be civilized here.

Explain further about the rights of German films please.

ANSWER ME REEEE

Fuck off

Lifeforce

>So, we are trying work with Sergio's estate to get the rights for a Dollars Trilogy.
The Dollars Trilogy already has a decent release. There's no point in that. If you're going to do Spaghetti Westerns you should do The Great Silence. It's still doesn't have a fucking anamorphic transfer in the US.

Germany films, especially old films, are maintaining their art to be more limited on their grounds. Studios in Germany are not very wealthy compared in America and China. They need to drive in money to keep their business growing and stable. That is why German films are hardly on the TCM channel and on streaming service platforms.

Sorry for missing you, pepe. From that list, I can see the team pursing Year of Living Dangerously
.

Rolling Thunder (1977) - John Flynn

Pretty please? It's only available on a DVD-R and it looks like shit.

How difficult is it to acquire East vs. West German films? Frank Schobel films need a Criterion release.

...

Our western collection is very poor. We do acknowledge it many times in the offices. We feel that we need a strong comeback and the Dollars Trilogy is something were our customers would be eager to hear of what our next western film we will release.

>implying OP works at Criterion/Janus Films, let alone German films rights (which wouldn't be a National problem anyway, but one dependent on the particular German production company of a particular German film)

still fun to see what half baked answer op gives.

>hardly on the TCM channel and on streaming service platforms.
except that's wrong

>Frank School
I;m not familiar with him.

Extension du domaine de la lutte
Nowhere

HISTOIRE(S) DU CINEMA

THE WHOLE FUCKING THING. DO IT, FAGGOT.

No, it isn't. Robert Osborne has been critical to the TCM channel in the past regarding films in Germany. TCM expresses that they receive more thrive and viewers from Italian and French films.

It's life, user.

Explain your logic in how Korine wouldn't make money back. Most of his stuff is OOP right now and goes for high money, and I see people begging left and right for a release. (And a lot of them point to a Criterion for it)

They've shown World on a Wire and a few other West German films before though.

First, the company takes a look at how much of his work has been sold to the public. If it's a low number. We don't bother.

That is true. But they don't value that type of cinema like the other countries. That's also one of the reasons why German films won't appear on the TCM Film Festival

Any chance of releases for either Barry Lyndon or Lolita? I've been really disappointed by all of WB's previous versions.

Does Possession or any another good horror have a chance? It's my fav genre, but you guys don't have that much.

Kubrick's estate has extremely strict ownership of Lolita, and Barry Lyndon would be very expensive to acquire. Dr Strangelove was surprisingly low in sales

Whats holding you back from the Val Lewton stuff, the Cat People set was great
