I haven't heard the record yet, but her live show's great vibes
Unironically Day 69
Good album, I absolutely despise the cover though.
1) Cocoa Sugar
2) Ought's room inside a world grew on me
Its been a pretty uneventful year imo
for some odd reason im really anticipating the new The Garden album
this but unironically
The one you posted, OP.
I fucking love this album and can't stop listening to it.
Dead Magic is the only album from 2018 that I've listened to.
hey me too
Anna Von Hausswolf
still need to listen to this. Super excited about it though, have been a big fan of both Keiji Haino and the many Aaron Turner projects that have existed throughout the years.
Yesterday I saw the CD in a store which is quite far away and I was tempted to buy it, but ended up buying a few others... Couldn't you have made this thread yesterday?
I actually did post it yersterday but I just titled it "AOTY" and got no replies
I hate humanity
The new Rolo Tomassi album is fantastic, shame it's barely been discussed on here
Good looks on Ought, amazing band
I really liked it the first listen but I still need to sit with it for a few more before rating
Came to post this.
Buy the album on Bandcamp?
Thats what I did.
Incredibly surprised at how this thing turned out, managed to listen to it like 3 times completely over the last couple days despite it being 2.5 hours long.
Both of these as well, nice choices.
And it's not even really all that close at this point.
The new voidz record had so much potential but they missed pretty hard a few times. A.A.L is just so consistently fucking great.
I like it but I don't like it nearly as much as I do his other projects, so in a way it's a disappointment.
Are you waiting for fantano to review it or what?
i'm p into fushitsusha but sumac really does absolutely nothing for me
is this worth a listen?
what Sun Kil Moon album is this
The Smoke by Lolina.
Most uncanny album I've ever heard, and I like Coil.
ill check this out ty
im interested in hearing a more modern take on minimal synth
dam dude you weren't kiddin i'm gonna need a back massage to loosen up after this first track
Haino is something close to a genius, he always brings the best out of his collaborators.
Thanks for the recommendation, this is really cool.
2012-2017 that low.....what fucking planet are you on
I love Sirens, but 2012-2017 just isn’t that great to me. It’s still good, but its less interesting and more meant to be background music. I just wasn’t as enthused by it as Sirens or even Pomegranate
Damn this is pretty gud
I don't know why, but I don't anything terribly exciting coming out this year.
well it's better, but it wins best album cover of the year, if anything can be more off putting this year than that cover prove me wrong.
oh definitely dead magic, nothing even comes close desu
Absolutely love her
If it's albums by itself, then Post- by Jeff Rosenstock. My favorite thing so far this year that I've heard is Crush by Ravyn Lenae
same here i hope JC gets some attention from this
^ah shit fucked that one up. still my aotysf tho
is it me or is 2018 kinda of a garbage year so far?
idk i got spooked
this is inga copeland, right?
Probably the most fun and energetic rock album this year
Blankenberge - Radiogaze
the 'tism is strong in this one, anons.
Ya'll need to listen to this good shit.
The only outstanding album this year for me
this or OP
You and me are probably the only two that think New Material is AOTY.
I dont even watch fantano videos. I just like the new judas priest album.
The fact that you are so obsessed with fantano and know every single album he likes/dislikes is not healthy man, stop it.
All except this is wrong
I watch his vids and am aware of what scores he gives
all I'm saying is look for better music and dont just listen to what fantano decides to shill
again, i dont watch fantano so i dont know what he likes. basically you're just saying that you dont like my taste (and thats fine)
I love physical releases, like CDs. I can't order anything to where I live, for some reason only 50% of all packages are actually delivered. I'll search through a few stores in my area and try to find it.
I'd probably say the new Kraus record, but part of me thinks Shame deserves it too. AAL is generic house and people are kidding themselves if they think it's anything but Jaar's most boring project. Young Fathers' effort was pretty good, along with MGMT, Hookworms, Of Montreal, and Mount Eerie. Hot Opinion with 70% accuracy desu.
it's too early in the year, still cold. try in like 6-9 months when shit comes out before list szn.
One album isn't enough to determine if someone drones a critic.
GosT - Possessor
I liked these two a lot. I think the new scallops hotels been my favorite release so far though
