even african countries are better than here

About the same desu

CO is cheaper

>20 of the 50 most dangerous cities in the world are located in Brazil
yes, it's really not a big achievement

both are better than Mexico, though?

It depends on what way you are trying to measure it, but it is also about the same.

Your questions are too vague, specify more.

>economic opportunities,
>safety
>cost of living
>social security if there are any

>>economic opportunities,
Honestly, I don't know (I'm shit at economy and it will show): Mexico has a higher GDP per capita than both, but both Brazil and Colombia have higher salaries on average (according to a very rudimentary study, if that makes any sense), but then again, it is also a cheaper place to live. Brazil has the highest GDP overall, but it also has the biggest population.
Mexico has the smallest unemployment rate out of the bunch, and the HDI is higher.
>>safety
Both Brazil and Colombia have a higher murder rate, but Colombia's muder rate is decreasing while Mexico's murder rate is increasing.
>>cost of living
Mexico is cheaper
>>social security if there are any
Mexico has Universal Health Care, and according to wikipedia Colombia and Brazil don't. Then again, according to wikipedia Mexico doesn't have it either (it is outdated). So I don't know.

At the end of the day, the differences are not that great. So about the same.

You know, you can google all of this on your own.

Brazil is the Portuguese speaking version of Colombia
t. been to both places

Colombia is the spanish speaking version of Brazil
fixed for you

Considering the size and "diversity" of Brazil that wouldn't be easy to answer. Colombia in my opinion is like a photocopy of the state of Minas Gerais, although wealthier, and for obvious reasons – it isn't governed by literal subhumans in an oversized tumour in the shape of a pseudo-country with over 150 million apes dictating the future of everyone else for the right of deliberately stealing 90% of their tax burden and unironically calling it democracy.

Compared to São Paulo and the Southern Region we're doing better economically, despite the living inferno that is living under Brazilian rulership. Colombia has a vastly superior geography though, and I like cumbia. :^)

Colombia would be Minas+Espirito Santo. Honestyl we could be a brazilians state and no one would bat an eye

No.

It's difficult for me to believe that there are worse countries to live in than Colombia, leaving aside the muslim world.

He's lying. Colombia is worse.

For now, yes. Colombia has improved a lot in the last 10 years while Brazil just keeps getting worse, and really worse, worse to the point I'm finding it unbearable to live here, it's breaking-point tier. Minas Gerais used to be a very prosperous state but recently has suffered a major violence surge, same for the Southern Region and the Center-West. The country is literally governed by a criminal/socialist organization called PCC. Brazil is done as a country and right now I can only compare its current state to Sub-Saharan African shitholes and other Latam hellholes like Cuba and Venezuela.

Now putting this into consideration it's safe to say Colombia >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brazil. In fact, of all countries in Latin America I'd put Brazil right next to Cuba and Venezuela. It's literally done. I wouldn't give it a decade before Brazil becomes a fully fledged Venezuela on steroids. Argentina will get there as well, eventually.

please explain. Is it dangerous?

>mfw from South Brazil
>back in the '90s most houses didn't have fences or gates
>these days we need 2 meters tall fence with electric fence on top
>all cars need alarm and kill switches because there is 50% chances it will get stolen if you park it in a public place
>slums keep getting bigger and bigger
>half of my family has been robbed at gunpoint

no (atleast not more dangerous than the average in latin america), he's just a self-hating fag who probably lives in a shit area

SAD!

Colombia is poorer than Brazil

What happened? Why did everything go to shit? Mass migrations from rural areas?

As a whole, yes. However there are regions here that are richer than Most Brazilians states. We have very poor departments like choco or guajira and quite "rich" departments like casanare, meta and Santander . Pic related is figures for 2009, they are quite different now, mostly to the upside

Literally half of the world is a worse place to live than Colombia, dumb cuck

You wouldn't have a problem in Colombia if you're minimally street smart, specially considering you're Greek so you wouldn't have much of a problem blending in.

In Brazil on the other hand you're quite likely to get shot in the head for petty stuff like your wallet or a phone. There have been reports of criminals in Brazil shooting random civilians and sometimes kidnapping and torturing them out of sheer entertainment. If you have seen the videos from Brazilian prisons you know the kind of "people" I'm talking about.

>What happened?
It all started in Northeast Brazil during the Revolução Pernambucana when the First Empire murdered the revolutionary leaders and everyone involved with the revolution in the once Província de Pernambuco. They were probably the first to attempt to bring European ideologies into Latin America. The First Empire simply genocided them and left them to rot. The First Empire essentially killed off the smartest people in the region, and some places like Recife and Fortaleza have enclaved neighborhoods of the descendants of the revolution, extremely intelligent folks.

By killing off the people with the highest IQs in the region I think you can guess what happened afterwards.

Anyway, they rapidly turned into parasite states, natural selection didn't favour them after what the First Empire did to devastate the Northeast. As the South Region and the Southeast Region remained prosperous, these low IQ people from the Northeast eventually migrated southwards, and unable to find many jobs that suited their low intellect they started building favelas and becoming criminals. With the welfare state they were able to reproduce and proliferate their low IQ, violent genes across the southern half of the country. This process is still going strong today but at a much larger scale.

lol no

As EUcuck, can confirm.
Is Santa Marta safe enough? Compared to Bogota, let's say

sounds bad man. Saw a video with some prisoners burning a guy tied to 2 mattresses. Took long. Could've been Africa though...

>Saw a video with some prisoners burning a guy tied to 2 mattresses. Took long. Could've been Africa though...
Plenty of much worse stuff have been recorded there. If you ever wondered what Hell would actually look like in real life, this might be the place to go.

The title alone should be enough. And keep in mind these "people" will serve a maximum sentence of 10 years, and recidivism rates in Brazil are currently at 80%+, that means more than 80% of those extremely violent criminals go back to crime as soon as they leave prison. It's difficult to explain the chaotic situation in Brazil to people who don't actually live in this country. It's unique stuff, you know? I don't know of any other place on Earth with that kind of thing going on, not even warzones in the Middle East are as a violent as Brazil, it's insanity.

I'm used to cold weather desu. Santa Marta has deserted climate, fuck that. I've been there on vacationing and would probably live there for a while 6 months tops, but wouldn't move indefinitely. Barranquilla is the most amazing city of this country even if it's weather it's quite hot. Now regarding crime, Bogota is slightly safer 16/100k vs 18/100k, which is around d the same level of Miami, Houston or L.A in the USA

>deserted climate
pics seemed pretty lush, I liked it as a combination of Caribbean beaches and tropical forest

Wtf our PIB per capita is 19k, this chart must have been made by a jelly rolo

Colombia is heaven in comparison to Shitzil.

Honestly we ain't better than Brazil

Dude, our country shit but so is Colombia.

Look up the statistics, we are slightly better than Colombia in most things (what still makes us shit anyways)

What a stupid fucking thread, these countries are almost the exact fucking same, stop arguing about dumb shit baka

Mate, your "country" isn't your state. Any state above Minas Gerais is Hell on Earth tier, that's 3/4 of Brazil. The average Colombian is infinitely superior to the average Brazilian in every imaginable way and that's common sense to anyone with minimal understanding of both countries.

>The average Colombian is infinitely superior to the average Brazilian in every imaginable way
We also have a lot of shit areas, the pacific coast, the southwest and half of the caribbean area are almost inhabitable

Would love to travel around brazil, they got great food and the gues ive met are cool. for Op, our country is for sure not the greatesr but you can get a comfy life in here.

>Any state above Minas Gerais is Hell on Earth tier
>above
Cangaços Gerais isn't Hell on Earth because Satan never taught the local fauna to cut sugar cane.

Andean Colombia = southwest Brazil borderline south Brazil
Caribbean Colombia = Espírito Santo, Rio De jan*gro
Pacific Colombia = SSA tier
Eastern plains Colombia= center west Brazil tier

You can get robbed in the middle of a traffic jam in multiple ways. In some cases you have hobbos throwing stones at you to gain access to the vehicle's insides to snatch what they can from within. You also have motorized robbers bearing hand guns who will not doubt in shoot you dead if you oppose resistance or if they don't feel pleased with what they got from you

You have robbers doing "intelligence" inside banks, looking for people who withdraw considerable amounts of cash, so after they leave the bank they'll follow you until they get the chance of forcefully stripping you of your hard earned money, and having no qualm of killing you on the spot if, again, you oppose resistance or if they don't like what they got from you.

This also happens on the streets or in the public transport (particularly in Bogota and Medellin), You have delinquents everywhere expecting for you to lower your guard so they can rob you of your cellphone or other valuables, and not having repair in killing you if they feel like it.

In the nights, you are at risk of some motherfucker breaking into your home to vacate it, and again, they don't have the slightest sense of respect for human life, so you're at risk of losing more than your belongings.

If you're unfortunate enough to be of lower class and live in a bad neighborhood, you're basically god-forsaken, you're at the mercy of the worst kind of subhumans you could find (again, except for muslims), which means that they might literally force your kids into delinquency or drug addiction, sexually exploit your daughters, extort money from you (which becomes worse if you own a business), and that your fate is in their hands (if they decide that they don't like you or that you did something that they didn't like, kiss good-bye to your life).

There are many more things like that to say about this hellhole.

In conclusion, it's obviously dangerous.
