The proper start of the 137th edition of the world's oldest knockout competition - the FA Cup - is decided tonight with the first round draw.
Three teams from Tier 8 remain: Hyde United (who infamously had three successive relegations a few years ago) Heybridge Swifts (whose last appearance at this stage saw them lose 7-0 to Bristol City) and Ossett Town (whose location is more renowned for the Worms games than football).
The 89 teams and their 80 numbers are to follow in the next post.
Coverage starts at 7:00pm UK time on BBC Two with the draw starting approximately 10 minutes later.

When you have 80 balls to pick, you sort of need a quick draw.
Jaxon Thomas
You now remember when Man City made Hyde United play in light blue and drop the "United" from their name for a few seasons.

I'm serious about this. Would inject an additional bit of magic if there was more chance of non league vs premier league ties, would properly reward minnows for getting to the first round proper, and would make it more likely a non big six club would win.
What's two additional games max for pl and championship clubs?
Josiah Perry
>tranmere away at peterborough Boring. Like a league fixture from a few years ago and 98% chance >we will get knocked out.

>TV money could keep a lower tier side going for several years >BBC only ever pick games like Man Utd v Coventry or sugar-daddy clubs like $alford City
They even did it in the preliminarily rounds on red button this year, picking Billericay with their drug dealer owner. Boils my piss.
