Could you Germans enlighten me as to how Angela Merkel managed to convince your population to vote her in 3 (three) times in a row?

Was this down to too much segregation within the ranks of other parties? Were there coups, false flags, misinformation going around to disrupt the opposition?

How did it happen?

Every party and candidate is pretty much the same and Merkel did ok before she opened the floodgates.

Lots of old people vote what they have always voted. Young people are brainwashed.

Don't even know who will be running next year. SPD jokingly said they would not even nominate someone because Merkel does everything they want anyway.

Are you expecting a 4th victory for her?

Honestly can't tell yet. Maybe she won't run again but I don't know who would. Depends on how rapefugees crisis and EU crisis continue I guess.
I think she's sensing a chance to use Brexit to 'fix' the EU somehow and have people forget about the rapefugees or redeem herself somehow.

Because most people aren't Sup Forums?

>SPD jokingly said they would not even nominate someone because Merkel does everything they want anyway.

they will be soon

>Lots of old people vote what they have always voted.

German politics in a nutshell. This is why CDU nearly always wins no matter what they do.
Old people don't even care. They just vote CDU.

Y'all need a new Reich.

Kek knows the way.

Voting should be based on policies instead of parties and name recognition.

>go into voting booth
>pick your stance on policies with no names attached to them
>auto vote for whichever fits best

Idk
Democracy as it is is nothing but mob rule except the mob is brainwashed sheep
*tips fedora*

Allow me to play devil's advocate here. Is old people getting to vote a problem or not? What with the whole Britain referendum """controversy""".

It's a problem of democracy not of old people. I don't think any average group of people is more knowledgeable about politics than any other. But the bell curve is pretty low in general.

witnessed it.
its a meme i guess.like old people wouldnt give a damn fuck about their grandchilds future.hell.i mean common

Old people aren't there ones living out the consequences very long. So yes, it's a problem.

When I'm old, I'm going to make sure my vote trolls younger generations.

Shit. I like it. But elections would take forever. All that reading.

Well elections don't happen that often, might as well take some time.

Last time I voted for her was 2009. Back then I felt like the politics finally started swinging back to the right, and CDU-FDP coalition had good chances to win (and they did) against Red-Green. They also promised (and did, sort of) to reverse the nuclear phaseout.

After she turned 180° on Fukushima and completely reversed her nuclear policy, and also started doing all kinds of leftist shit, supported bailout for Greece, supported gay shit, I was done with them.

In 2011 I was in a situation where there was simply no party for me vote for. Fortunately, AfD emerged some time later. I voted for them in 2013, but it looks like the vote was rigged to fall short of reaching the 5% threshold.

After the whole "refugee" crisis, it's no longer enough for me to see her being voted out, or resign, or even imprisoned. I want to see her and half of the government hanged.

>expecting real democracy

>expecting real communism

>expecting real socialism

This was similar to the Labour vote in the UK, but this got beaten out of them by immigration. Granted they did have UKIP as an alternative to run to. Is there no way of this happening in Germany?

Quite possible. The Union has the largest percentage in the parliament, but no majority. They depend on having a coalition.
Before 2013, they were sufficient with a small partner like FDP. 2013 their results fell even further, and now they needed a Grand Coalition to stay in power. Today there was a news that the Grand Coalition fell below 50% - so what? Then they will have a 3-party coalition , or four-party coalition, or five party if necessary. Unless AfD gets majority, Merkel will stay in power, sadly.

Best girl when?

>not my definition of (political stance)
>must not be real

>Could you Germans enlighten me as to how Angela Merkel managed to convince your population to vote her in 3 (three) times in a row?

Most Germans vote for one of the two big parties traditionally, Merkel managed to take control of the conservative party after Stoiber(CSU bavaria) got BTFO during the 2002 elections.

Merkel's political power is more that she managed to marginalize her opponents over her managing to convince people to vote for her.

90% of CDU/CSU or SPD voters(two big parties) vote for either party because traditionally they have voted for them in the past. CDU/SPD winning a majority of votes has absolutely nothing to do with politics, but a lot to do with tradition.

Shut the fuck up ireland or we will impose a potato import ban

That's so terrifying. It's a dictatorship sheltered through representative "democracy". The opposition crushed by a media in the pocket of the establishment.

From my very distant view, which isn't worth very much, surely the only way out is cascading exits from EU member states forcing Merkel into a resignation, or illness/death on the job.

wrong picture, m8

or maybe this one

Merkel is on her 3rd term in a row, that's fine and totally democratic.
Putin is on his 3rd term not in a row, that's REEEEEE FUCKING UNDEMOCRATIC. Just wtf.

Yes simple, the leftards are even worse here and since WWII people are very suspicious of far right movements. So in conclusion out of this shit she was still the lesser evil

I think we all know it wouldn't matter who voted in Russia

Depressingly accurate. Regardless of the allegations around self-interest, Putin at least protects his citizens, respects tradition as much as he can without causing mass riots and still throws out enough political masculinity to keep every other country at arm's length on the big issues.

At least Russia has its stockpile of resources - you are a futureproofed nation.

...

>convince citizens that everyone else is hitler
>become hitler

Blame the emasculation and stigmatizing of your countryman's national pride

opposition was in disarray when she took power due to the chancellor back then caring for the people and enacting unpopular reforms, saving our asses but destroying the SocDems in the process. The reforms showed their results during merkels first government, we survived the Crisis of 2008 and came out of it as the new powerhouse of Europe, Merkel didnt have to do anything but let the reforms work. Thats why she was reelected with the new government, where she basically waited in a crisis event until public opinion became clear and then decided what to do. This and some political moves and good publicity (evil Greeks robbin our monies) made sure she almost could rule alone after the third election she won.

Merkel wont run i think, my guess is von der Leyen. If they want to win back some AfD votes maybe de Maiziere or Schäuble, but they would have to deal with red-red-green in that case almost surely. I just hope FDP gets back into parliament, black-yellow is the best we can hope for right now.

Thanks for the insight bro

German here, this
is basically all information you need.

Old people are afraid of voting ANY radicals, left or right, so the opposition is usually the same parties over again because they told their kids extremes are BAD so they vote something not-establishment but still conservative like green or "liberal" (a.k.a. economics a.k.a. the FDP).

There's not one alternative party we'd be allowed to vote.

There was the Pirate Party around 2011 which was fine as long as it only ever did Internet stuff. Then it was forced by the media to adapt all kinds of politics, was undermined by leftist scum and is now a joke party advocating less rape.

AfD is basically seen as the new NPD, any statements critizising Immigration are commented by the media as "right-wing" which immediately leads every fucking mongloid to believe the AfD advocates Mein Kampf word for word.

I don't even know any other then these seven parties. LINKE is leftist hugbox, FDP is a joke, Green is leftist hugbox, SPD is spineless mini-CDU and CDU itself is Merkel. CSU is CDU, just with more BAYERN. AfD sounds good until you hear "but Petry wanted to shoot immigrants on sight!" and you can't argue with that unless you can stomach being treated as a racist and lose all your friends.

I want someone to just nuke the whole parliament already.
Also I don't know how I'd post from denmark, our company has weird proxies. Ich bin 100 Prozent deutsch.

She didn't. Media and useful idiots did.

20 million pensionaires, 1/3 of all voters. The german boomer generation decides any and all elections, the single most important voter group.

They get a 5% pension raise every year from Merkel, while the 18-65 workforce has to slave itself out for austerity wages with zero inflation adjustements.

They dont give a fuck about the future of Germany, they only care about increasing their already ample pensions - the highest state pensions ever paid in german history.

Learn to hate old people. These are the godless degenerates that forced decadency upon us with their communit 'sexual revolution' in 1968. Learn to hate them.

>SPD jokingly said they would not even nominate someone because Merkel does everything they want anyway
Germans bring the bantz

I've run into image related in real life so many times that I mad.
