Is curling a sport?

mercurynews.com/2017/10/17/curlers-upset-with-american-airlines-after-agent-allegedly-denies-curling-is-a-sport/

Only the best sport ever.

Yes.
So is chess, and football.

>is curling a sport

>americans

>tfw you'll never be a 50 year old Norwegian Curling Chad knee deep in sweet curling clunge.

>objective scoring
>No judges
Yeah it's a sport. Not a very good one, but it is

yes, anything were two or more men compete whilst adhering to an agreed upon set of rules is a sport.

>mfw shitposting is a sport
Thanks based Belgium

It's a game

Nothing on ice is a sport.

Chess requires less physical activity than "e-sports," which are also not sports.

Congrats, you just widened the scope of this board to everything ever done.

No, it doesn't have an anime so it's not a real sport.

Baseball? Too many to count
Basketball? Same
Soccer? Ditto
Tennis? Prince of Tennis and Baby Steps
American Football? Eye Shield 21
Men's Boxing? Ippo, Ashita no Joe
MMA? All-Rounder Meguru and Teppu
Dancing? Ballroom e Youkoso and dancing midgets (rip)

Curling? Nothing.

No unless it's the Olympics just like swimming

>curling doesnt have an anime

>his backlog (probably not applicable) consists of solely winter 2016 series'

Ya, it definitely is a sport. And because it has an active offense and defense (ability to prevent the other team/person from scoring/getting points), it's actually more of a sport than any swimming event or track and field event -- which should be considered competitions, not sports.

This. Leafbro gets it.

i dont know but it is fun to play

it is like deluxe shuffleboard

it's simple:
are you unable to physically and directly affect your opponent's performance?
does it involve wheels in any shape or form? (save for inline hockey)
do you need a videogame to compete?

if you answer yes to any or all questions above, it isn't a sport

Not directly disagreeing, but #1 implies track isn't a sport

>track isn't a sport
Right. By the criteria Leaf and Hue are using (which were actually established by general consensus in a very old Sup Forums flowchart), they are called track and field events for a reason.

>What event do you compete in?

It always has to be mentioned that not being considered a "sport" isn't an implication of inferiority or irrelevance, just classification. No need to feel slighted if your favorite pastime isn't considered a sport.

yeah but the term "sweepfloor" is more common on Sup Forums
