I live in LA so I might give you some insight on what is happening.
Even in the last few white areas of LA the schools are mostly minority. While a large chunk of the white people are older there are still families with school aged kids. They mostly send their kids to private schools. Mostly religious. I know one jewish lady who sends her kids to a catholic high school because the schools are so fucked up here.

Yeah I heard about that. I have family who lives in federal way. The complex where a cousin lives was kind of ghetto but still kind of nice by LA standards. I didn't spend much time in the city though. I just went to the log cabin place that was one of the first buildings in the area, the walmart, and the mall.
