Did I miss something with the twist ending here? I know it was referencing Unbreakable, but how did it in any way tie into the plot?
Did I miss something with the twist ending here? I know it was referencing Unbreakable...
its pretty much just a origin story for the villain in the Unbreakable sequel
Oh, there's another movie coming out?
The twist was really that he could even survive bullets and he truly had transcended human limits, not just parlor tricks.
Shyamalan wants to make a third, yes.
I didn't get the bit when he put the flowers on the train station
It's implied that his father died in the train crash that Mr. Glass orchestrated.
practically confirmed now. shymalan has made it clear he wants to make the sequel his next project. so the next movie will be a direct sequel to unbreakable and split.
>mfw the theme started
So Mr Glass unknowingly created a super villain?
Bravo Shymalan!
When was that?
He was killing two birds with one stone. It wouldn't be a Shamanlaman movie without the tweest and he could finally appease Unbreakable fanboys, all in a 60 second scene.
Overall, it was an unnecessary scene but it didn't take away from the movie. Just kind of disappointing it wasn't allowed to stand on its own.
yeah hes the joker of shammbalams comic movies
Watch Unbreakable.
Unbreakable opening scene
I know a train crash happened in the beginning of Unbreakable, orchestrated by Mr. Glass in order to find a "super hero", but when does it imply Kevin's dad died in that train crash?
Unbreakable (Bruce Willis) touches this boy and hears screams. Kevin got abused by his mother in split whose face we never saw. Then his father died in the train crash. There's a big implication, why would the scene be there otherwise?
it doesnt but its little things like that that connect the movies
>twist could've been that it was actually 12 seperate guys
>twist could've been that he was actually a monkey (explains surviving the gunshots + why they were in the zoo)
>twist could've been that the villian was a figment of the girls imagination and that she was the one sending the emails
Any of these three would've been dope but instead it went full retard
>he was an actual monkey
that dude is the new villain to mr. incrediman (Willis) and mr. incrediman will have to find him and defeat him
its a little jab at the current state of affairs and how disney has created the modern day comic book universe and changed the idea of a sequel.... basically how cinematic universes are a thing now
my thoughts exactly
Never consider a career in screenwriting
i dunno i like the monkey one
i feel like the movie is gonna lose its magic. the last two movies were an origin movie. How is the next movie not going to be a straight up action movie. dunn v crumb
its actually going to be a 2 parter where the first involves a small confrontation between dunn and the beast and dunn seeking out more superheros and the beast breaking mr glass out of prison, now the twist is when dunn is sitting in the diner and in walks sam l jackson as nick fury and tells dunn "i hope you dont mind, but i brought friends" in walks huge jackman as logan saying "well its about time"
But they were straight up saying that the entire fucking time. That's not a twist.
Is the twist actually that he gains his personalities (and sometimes physical capabilities) from the people he eats? If he ate one of the animals in the zoo it would explain his superhuman abilities.
I think that was hinted at pretty hard.
Definitely
...
Yep, he does a country accent that was similar to his mother's at one point
I thought he has only abducted teenage girls
I thought this was his first act of kidnapping, and it seems they got grabbed specifically because they were the ones mentioned in the therapy session about how two girls on a field trip made him touch their breasts.
Then why was the quiet girl grabbed with those two?
The therapist said something about Dennis making underage girls dance for him hence why he was banned "from the light"
Just happened to be in the car with them. Remember how long it took him to spray her?
Wrong place, wrong time.
Maybe it was a webcam thing, fucking NARCs.
who wins the the beast or unbreakable?
Beast if solo dunn if mr. Glass helps him
Dunn might have more experience assuming he kept doing his vigilante stuff.
Always wondered if he just stopped after putting away Glass to spite him somewhat.
>twist could've been that he was actually a monkey
what
Maybe he's thinking of orangutan muscle density?
I feel like Dunn isn't as unbreakable now since he's old
i feel like he'll strangle the beast to death like he did when he saved those kids but get stabbed the entire time and die shortly after
either way I want some more stranglin'
I was honestly thinking it when they showed the zoo.
>nobody took the psychiatrist seriously
>nobody from the outside world actually saw him
>explains him being able to run/climb fast
>explains when the construction workers see him and they say "it was just an animal"
>survives gun shots
>is at a zoo
Just wannna say it was a good movie aswell imo, not expected from m knight shamalamadingdong
You are fucking killing me, I love you. Do you have mental problems? Im having a good ass laugh right now
how would you react if they did go that route
>movie didn't end with Kevin bumping into David
>instead we got
>"hey, you know who this guy with multiple personality syndrome reminds me of?"
>"that dude in the wheel chair with the weak bones who blew up buildings and shit"
I would laugh my ass off
See
Yo honestly Kevin is probably going to try to eat Dunn to make his split personalities unbreakable?
Was the ayy lmao bitch a tie in to Signs
This! when people said it had ties to unbreakable I was expecting something similar not basil exposition!
it was so poorly done
>my face when I heard a woman say "he was in Sixth Sense, remember?"
But why would those girls even make that comparison? Glass went away 15 year before all this happened.
isn't the beast the only one who eats people though? and he was the newest personality
>Glass went away 15 year before all this happened.
Yeah and 9/11 was 15 years ago but people still talk about it, one guy was committing numerous acts of terrorism all around the world looking for special people, amassing a body into the thousands, or course it would be memorable
Bodycount*
Because he was literally a fucking super villain
we still talk about hitler constantly in the year 2016 you don't think people would talk about a literal fucking super villain 15 years later
Good comparison because people only know the (((super villains))).
Go ask hundred 20y olds what Unabomber did and see if you get more than three answers that aren't "uhh... bomb?". That was twenty years ago.
>guy kills three people with bombs
>guy kills thousands of people by orchestrating national tragedies in an insane plot to find a superman
great comparisons dumbass
I compared terrorizing hundreds of people to terrorizing hundreds of people. Dumbass.
He didn't terrorize shit, people weren't afraid of mr broken man, there was no threat
He straight up fucking slaughtered people by the hundreds in horrible accidents and then got exposed it would be a big fucking deal
Imagine if the Oklahoma City bombing was ruled an accident or act of god then years later Bruce Willy goes "YEA this dude did it"
It would be a big
Huge
Fucking deal
like how are you not getting this
post link to tweet etc
OH MY GOSH, I WAS WRONG
YOU WERE PURE, ALL ALONG.
YOU'VE FINALLY MADE A MONKEY,
(yes we've finally made a monkey)
YOU'VE FINALLY MADE A MONKEY OUT OF MEEEEEE
I love you Dr Fletcher.
nah dude you see his moms face briefly in the pov flashback to his childhood
This movie was so fucking lame. Fuck everyone in this movie
Right on bro
>nobody from the outside world actually saw him
blondies dad sees and speaks to him at the start
What will be the twist of the sequel?
its actually a prequel
What? You've never talked to a monkey before?
The twist is that there was no twist. It's genius.
>Monkey driving a car
Haha
Everyone who sees him either dies or is captured
The father of the blonde didn't die.
