Purge bait threads with a flamer.

>tfw paranoia probably other stuff
>can't handle jumpscares or surprises very well
am i missing out tv?

Why does reddit get to like things but we dont? oh wait.

The only one of those films I'd describe as "Reddit" is Cabin in the Woods.

A very average (not bad) film that got mainstream success, and a lot of normies latched on too because they think that being aware of the horror tropes it's lampooning makes them look smart or clever despite the film itself being about as deep as a puddle. It's more of a comedy than a horror film, and people think they're special for liking it despite the fact that it was a very popular movie that almost any genre savvy person has heard about or seen.

You could maybe argue the same thing for It Follows and the VVitch, but neither of those are as accessible to normies as Cabin was and actually have at least a little bit of substance going on under the hood regardless of what you may think of them. They also never garnered the same level of mainstream success.

Other horror films I would classify as Reddit: The Conjuring, Evil Dead (2013), The Babadook, etc.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Apocalypto,
Drive.

Who other than a 16 year old would know what movies that came out in the last year like Witch and It Follows are loved by 16 year olds?

Jacob's Ladder is actually good thought you faglord.

pleb

Your favorite movies

If you're able to distinguish what is and isn't Reddit I guess you know where to head on back to. How else would you know what is and isn't if you're not familiar with Reddit?

I studied their habits so you don't have to.

>TGTBATU
>Reddit

Why is Jacob's Ladder on this list?

What movies are you even allowed to like on Sup Forums except for Master and Commander?

The fact that you consider the witch a good movie is laughable, subhuman pseud

well yeah thats why you think its good, Sup Forums

Drive is the official Sup Forums movie newfag.

Admitting to liking Harry Potter is already an insult to oneself in and of itself, considering its one of the dullest franchises in the history of movie franchises.

Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the books were good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

Add the V/H/S movies. What a bunch of overrated reddit shit.

Admittin ta likin Harry Potta be already a insult ta oneself up in n' of itself, thankin bout its one of tha dullest franchises up in tha history of porno franchises.

Seriously each episode followin tha pimp wizzle n' his thugged-out lil' hommies from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from tha others fo' realz. Aside from tha gloomy imagery, tha series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement n' ineffectizzle use of special effects, all ta make magic unmagical, ta make action seem inert.

Perhaps tha take a thugged-out dirtnap was cast when Rowlin vetoed tha scam of Spielberg directin tha series; she made shizzle tha series would never be mistaken fo' a work of art dat meant anythang ta anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion fo' her books. Da Harry Potta series might be anti-Christian (or not) yo, but it’s certainly tha anti-Jizzy Bond series up in its refusal of wonder, beauty n' excitement. No one wants ta grill dat fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least tha books was phat though
"No!"
Da freestylin is dreadful; tha book was shitty fo' realz. As I read, I noticed dat every last muthafuckin time a cold-ass lil characta went fo' a strutt, tha lyricist freestyled instead dat tha characta "stretched his fuckin legs."

i was just the right age to read the first few books and still thought they were mediocre, woe upon rowling for what those books would have made current me feel during the moments of reading

Reddit can't take The Descent or Oculus from us
