Daily reminder that it's Georgia's year.

Florida State is the 1st preseason AP Top-3 team to start 2-4 or worse in its 1st 6 games since Pittsburgh in 1984 (1-5)

Florida State is 0-3 at home to start a season for the first time since 1974

Texas had had OT games since the start of last season (most in FBS)

2016 -- W 50-47 (2OT) v Notre Dame on ABC
2016 -- L 21-24 (OT) @Kansas on ABC
2017 -- L 24-27 (2OT) @USC on FOX
2017 -- W 40-34 (2OT) v Kansas State on FS1
2017 -- L 10-13 (OT) v Oklahoma State on ABC

*has had 5 OT games

Mason Rudolph is #1 in the nation with 378.6 passing yards per game, just ahead of Josh Rosen (374.3 ypg).

The game vs Texas was first time this season Mason Rudolph failed to record a Pass TD in the 1st qtr (he did it vs Tulsa, South Alabama, Pitt, TCU, Texas Tech and Baylor).

The game vs Texas was first time this season Mason Rudolph failed to record a Pass TD at all (he had 0 TDs/0 INTs vs Texas), but he threw 3 or more TDs on everyone else except TCU (who he threw for two TDs on)

...

>no MACtion

Sad.

Only 29 QBs are averaging more than 260 passing yards per game, 17 in the Power 5

This week in the MAC!
>but yeah, this is a really shitty week to be bringing any attention to the MAC

Pittsburgh was my guess when I started that sentence lol

Threadly reminder that NIU would booty blast every team in the FBS and they just choose not to because it wouldn't be fun if NIU won the natty every year

Seriously though, can NIU and Illinois swap places? I think NIU could at least finish 6-6 in that side of the big ten and it would be good for that program. Plus Illinois/Ball state would make a better rivalry

great week for QB battles in the Power 5:

#1 Mason Rudolph vs #3 Will Grier
>ABC noon ET - Oklahoma State at WV (OSU by 7.5)

#5 Baker Mayfield vs #6 Nic Shimonek
>ABC/ESPN2 8:00 ET - Texas Tech at Oklahoma (OU by 20)

#14 Trace McSorley vs #15 JT Barrett
>FOX 3:30 ET - Penn State at Ohio State (OSU by 6.5)

#10 Sam Darnold vs #16 Manny Wilkins
>ESPN 10:45 ET - USC at Arizona State (USC by 3)

#7 Drew Lock vs (G5-#10) Bryant Shirreffs
>CBSSN 6:30 ET - Missouri at UConn (MO by 13)

*#4 Baker Mayfield vs #5 Nic Shimonek

West coach will get UCLA at Washington on ABC, everyone else will get TCU at Iowa State on ABC

And it'll be the reverse on ESPN2 (West Coast will get TCU at Iowa State on ESPN2, every one else will get UCLA at Washington on ESPN2)

...

Baylor will beat Texas

Will this be the first time Alabama wins a National Title with a black QB?

PASSING YARDS PER GAME BY ALABAMA QBs
2008 -- 12–2 record -- 162.4 ypg - John Parker Wilson

It's easy to have the top Defense, when you've never played a team with an Offense

Top Five teams by Turnover margin:

1. USF
2. Penn St
3. UCF
4. Notre Dame
5. Miami

Combined record: 32-1 (a field goal away from 33-0)

USA Today Sports' 2017 college football coach salaries was released today
sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/

Top Four
$11M - Saban
$8.5M - Daaaaabo
$7M - Harbaugh
$6.4M - Urban

interesting:
$1.6M - Brian Kelly (Notre Dame), lower than what the US Naval Academy pays their coach. Heck even lower than what fellow instate schools Indiana and Purdue pays their coaches, lol

Lowest head coach salaries in Power 5:
$1.8M - Indiana
$1.8M - Pitt
$1.8M - Wake Forest
$1.6M - Notre Dame***********
$1.6M - Kansas
$1.6M - Cal
$1.2M - Ole Miss (who has an interim head coach, they made their OC the interim after they fired Freeze for the scandal)

easy to be good when the turnovers go your way. But that isn't something you should bank on

LMAO
Bo Schembelcher is only remembered because he was the foil to Woody Hayes. He took Michigan to the Rose Bowl to get stomped a bunch of times? woopty do
michigan sucks

>Noone in the top 15 has as few pass attempts as #4 Baker Mayfield

I know for, at least, Notre Dame. Turnovers are a big part of Elko's defensive scheme. Same with Miami (that's why they have that obnoxious gold chain).

For those two teams, the turnover margin isn't a coincidence.

>Georgia
>only 1.43 sacks per game
Georgia has played 5 teams in the top 38 in sacks allowed 3 of which are in the top ten.

Should be interesting to watch this stat the second half of the year with UF, USC kentucky and Auburn being 90th or worse in sacks allowed.

1. Bama
2. ND
3. Georgia
4. UCF

>Bama and GA
How do SEC title game work

Why would ND be ahead of Georgia?

>Bama
sure, unless Georgia keeps killing it
>ND
no, 8-4
>Georgia
slaughter Florida and then maybe
>UCF
go undefeated for 2+ years while P5 schools have 2 loss seasons and maybe it'll happen

bootyblaster delusion is always strong

UCF will get in when tOSU Miami and Pedostate collapse starting this week.

>no, 8-4
So you think they go 0-3 against NCSU, Miami, and Stanford?

Possible. Not probable. Possible.

I think they will bury NC St (who hasn't played a real rushing offense all season).

I think they hand Miami their SECOND loss of the season (They aren't making it past VaTech)

Stanford will be interesting. I don't know how good Stanford is. If Stanford goes into that game with wins over UDub and Wazzu, I think they will give the Irish a run for their money. Otherwise, they will lose big.

Which is a bigger meme conference? Pac12 or Big10?

10 because they think they actually decent

Big12

8 teams are undefeated.
6 undefeated teams have to play each other to run the table
>Alabama vs Georgia
>Penn State vs Wisconsin
>USF vs UCF
TCU has to play somebody twice to win out.

Losing a game might be a dagger at this point.

Da yooo

Da yooo

Da yoo. Da yoo.

Throw Dem U's up..

TCU gonna split that series, whatever it is.

Big 12 is trash.

USF and UCF don't matter

2017 Week 9 UT Power Rankings Sponsored by Taco Bell™ picking up the tabs of 500 students from the student section & Belk, they make western gear or some shit. They also sponsor a bowl, yes they are a real thing.

Miami (The U)
2. Bama
3. Northwest Missouri State
4. James Madison
5. TCU
6. BOOTYBLASTERS
7. Georgia
8. Columbia University
9. Wisconsin
10. University of South Florida

anyone know where they go to school?

kind of hope uga beats uf so we can expedite mcelwains departure but uga never beats uf especially when we need a coach fired

>4 of the 5 top games this weekend all start at 3:30 PM
who the FUCK decided this was a good idea?

Notre Dame would bootyblast NC State and Miami

So if Iowa State beats TCU, how far does TCU fall and how high does IA ST rise? I'd say 13 ranked ISU 16-17ranked TCU

pedo st going to get smashed in t-minus two days

You think a two loss team would jump a one loss team?

Have you ever watched College Football before?

Score prediction:

PSU - 21
tOSU - 38

Cap it.

If UCF wins out, they have a top 30 SOS.
That's more than the pac12 can say.

Muschamp 2013.

Good thing I have four TVs in my living room.

PSU 27-24 tOSU
Both kickers miss at least 2 field goals

I think PSU gets blown out.
Their QB throws jumpballs like he's in highschool.

How do I get into college football?

fuck your cousin and ROLL DAMN TIDE

OSU DBs are tiny. PSU will get points. You can guarantee it. It all falls on Barrett. Penn St will sell out to stop Dobbins.

...

I don't think tOSU will be able to stop Penn states run game though.

Lads lads lads I just got a 90% on my final today!! WOOOOO!!! (I'm in a trade school, we don't go by normal semesters here, so that's why it seems weird that I'm taking my final in October) also got a 90% on my hands on final!! Feeling good today lads

tOSU defense is nonexistent compared to most other t10 programs

also congrats. what's your major? if that's how trade schools work idk

>tOSU defense is nonexistent compared to most other t10 programs
What the hell are you talking about? There isn't a D line in the country that can match Bosa, Lewis, Hubbard, Young, etc. OSU's weakness is their young secondary since they lost Lattimore, Hooker and Conley early last year. I don't think Barkely will run wild but stopping McSorley YOLO bombs will be a challenge

I'm here for diesel tech. I'm in preventive maintenance right now. Basically it's kind of an accelerated program but the drawback is we don't get a summer break like other schools do. We get like 3 weeks for winter break though. PM is a 12 week class, after that I believe it's a week of hydraulics and 11 weeks of air brakes.

That's what they said about Michigan's run defense and Barkley got 100 in the first quarter mate.

...

>Can't believe I'm about to argue in favor of Ohio State
Ohio State has the 14th best run defense in the country and PSU is a run first offense.
PSU's QB isn't throwing bullets like Baker Mayfield. If OSU stops PSUs ground game and forces PSU to pass it's gonna get ugly.
Throwing jump balls like that is never gonna win a lot of games. PSU's WRs arent that big either, they have one guy who's over 6'1".

>There isn't a D line in the country that can match

While I agree they're good, Alabama and Georgia are in another league with their Dlines this year.

Even Bob Stoops agrees.

UCF is going to make a playoff push late if they can win out.
But canceling that Georgia Tech game might end up hurting them.

Depends on what you want. Bosa is the best edge rushing lineman in the country (he's more explosive than Joey) and Lewis and Hubbard are both projected first rounders (DE). That said, Bama and Georgia have better pure run stoppers at DT (Payne and Thompson). The problem with OSU's defense and why they lost to OU and might lose to PSU is their secondary isn't experienced to run their man press schemes. They leave guys open for short passes and don't cover long enough for the D line to collapse the pocket.

>spend gorrillion dollars to join Big 10 and on new stadium
>still sucks
>people in New Jersey still don't care about college football

Do you feel bad for them?

Could we really be the meme team like Oregon or Washington in the top 4 this year?

OU has a cannon lauching the ball everywhere while PSU has guy lobbing beach balls.

As someone with no dog in this fight, I believe It could get out of hand quick.

It's one of those scenarios where I could see OSU blowing out PSU but not vice versa.

Need some help but if it gets down to being a 2 undefeated teams left and UCF is one of them, I think they get in.

No

Fuck the B10 and Fuck Rutgers.

>SECN 7:30 ET - Tennessee at Kentucky (UK by 5)

And the hits keep on coming for Tennessee. Now they lost John Kelly, their best offensive player who was suspended yesterday after he was stopped Tueeday night in Knoxville for a headlight being out. He had no proof of insurance, a baggie of weed, a glass weed pipe, and a strong smell of marijuana.

Kelly has produced 42.9% of Tennessee's offensive yards
>70.5% of their rushing yards
>22.1% of their pasing yards
He was also the only TN player with more than 2 TDs along with WR Marquez Callaway, and Kelly had double the TDs Callaway had

Gruden when

What do I wear to the game on Saturday

1/2

Or one of these with like a zip jacket so I can cover my shame after they lose in the first quarter

A E S T H E T I C

I hate Ohio State as a Bammer, but anyone thinking Penn State will beat tOSU is severely mistaken. Penn State doesn't have near the defense to stop Ohio State from scoring now that they've kind of found an identity. And on the other side McSorley isn't actually a good quarterback (like Baker Mayfield or Deshaun Watson). After watching him vs Michigan, he just chucks the ball up and prays. Saquon Barkley, while a great running back, is not stoppable. Ohio State will be able to stop him with all the talent they have. I think Ohio State wins by 14.

>"not unstoppable" I meant

1. Georgia
2. tOSU
3. Miami
4. UCF

maximum butthurt scenario

> implying Miami won't lose to pitt, the most underrated giant killer in football

I honestly believe Miami has the easiest path to the playoff, their toughest remaining game is vs ND at home.

He is from Detroit, the last Tennessee recruit from Michigan. Here are the top recruits from Michigan over the last 10 years and where they went. The Alabama one is Mark Ingram.

All UCF needs to do is win out against shitty teams and they're in though.

Last year Penn State won the head to head against Ohio State and won the big ten championship and they didn't get a slot
Why would ucf get a slot if records, conference titles, and strength of schedule aren't used to determine the playoff competition

Virginia tech is a pseudo rivalry for them, it's taken the place of the old gators rivalry and they always play each other hard and close

Ohio State's secondary is pretty shitty but there's no way Pedo state can run the ball on OSU's front 7. Barkley may be great but he won't be able to make enough big plays with that D-line in front of him. It's likely going to be a shootout. 34-31. OSU wins.

>There isn't a D line in the country that can match Bosa, Lewis, Hubbard, Young, etc.

Off the top of my head, Alabama, Georgia, NC St., Wisconsin, Washington, Michigan St., Clemson... maybe even Notre Dame (I think I heard someone say they've only allowed one rushing touchdown all year).

>College kid getting in trouble for some pot.
Man. Fuck the south.

>Dearborn
>heavily white
If that was the case then Rhyno would have gotten the Michigan State Rep. seat instead of a fucking Arab.

>same things happens at UW
>see you at practice on Monday

LOL thanks for letting everyone know that you have no idea what you're talking about. PSU's passing offense is ranked a lot higher than their ground game. Gesicki is a fucking freak at 6'6" 250lbs and an insane vertical. OSU stacking the box and relying on their trash secondary would be a bad move. If Saquon makes it to the third level, he's gone, there is no chance of anyone past that bringing him down.

TEXAS!

This one is for all the glory..

Tennessee at Kentucky
>The battle of the USA's two big whiskey-producing states
>Kentucky/Tennessee is the 5th-most played rivalry in the South, only behind UVA/UNC (South's oldest rivalry), Georgia/Auburn (Deep South's oldest rivalry), Clemson/South Carolina, and the Egg Bowl.
>with 112 meetings, Kentucky/Tennessee is on par with Army/Navy (117 meetings) and Ohio State/Michigan (113 meetings)
>Border War between the state flagships
>Kentucky has only won once in the last 32 annual meetings by these two charter members of the SEC, so Kentucky will be jacked up bigtime for this one now that Tennessee looks like it could very well be a win this time
>Battle for the Beer Barrel (introduced in 1925, but discontinued in 1998 after fatal alcohol-related car crash involving two UK football players. The Barrel's current whereabouts have not been made public, but Tennessee students stold it in 1953 and Kentucky students retaliated by stealing Smokey the Bluetick Coonhound the first year it was introduced as Tennessee's live mascot which was chosen by a stadium vote in a popular uproar)
