I'd side with Coyne here if he had more than "a handshake". Coyne is notorious for not signing drivers to a contract until March. It'd be one thing if this was a lateral move to Carpenter or Foyt, but I can't be mad at Jones for jumping at the chance to drive a Ganassi car
Lucas Cook
>a handshake
Doesn't mean much when you've got bills to pay and are getting job offers.
Gabriel Myers
>Bubba Wallace in lackluster RPM equipment
Brody Smith
So nothing's changed.
Nolan Martinez
Pic related: old raceho's were better raceho's
Dylan Reed
Yeah really. No wonder the Coyne cars are ... always running where they are, if Dale doesn't have shit on paper. Just backmarker things.
Jacob Taylor
They were stacked with engineering talent/chemistry and really showed it early in the season. Dale also spent a fair bit on damper/suspension development. The season was a dream for the team until it became a nightmare when Sebastian was injured. I think they’ll do well regardless of who is in the 19.
Jackson Myers
He acts like everyone thought that Ed was going to stay when it seemed more like everyone was assuming he'd be gone
Liam Diaz
I don’t think anyone assumed he’d be gone since he’d have no other team to be at unless Hartley was made unavailable.
Aaron Morgan
Most people seemed to think that he would get replaced by Gutierrez or someone who could bring more money since his lights money is out now
Adrian Clark
the assumptions was that coyne would add a third car
Caleb Lopez
I think Ed can do well at CGR.
It’s nice having the average age at the good teams decreasing.

Tristan Vautier should give Dale a ring too. Could be Team Frog, not the first time Tristan would have been in an all amphibian Indycar team.
Also I remember when Robert Wickens did Road America Friday practice and thinking “What’s the point?” since the guy wouldn’t be available until 2019, or so I thought. I assumed he wasn’t an SPM candidate due to his Mercedes obligations.
Joshua Phillips
>Mercedes obligations. Was that Friday practice drive before or after Mercedes decided to exit Duschen Tourenwagen Meisterbate?
Asher Phillips
I believe that was before the public announcement. Wickens might have know even as far back as their ride swap in 2016.
It didn’t sound like he was surprised.

It was an issue related to a specific batch of parts that were failing. Issue was resolved once those engines were mileaged out.
Didn’t see any explosions towards the end of the season so I think they’re done.

That's nice. Looks more like the rudder and horizontal stabilizer of an airplane than the back end of a race car.
He's just blabbering. I doubt Newgarden would want to go to backmarker Haas anyways
Alexander Bailey
>drive a competitive car in a competitive series >drive a shitmobile in a shit series
Yea, I don't imagine he'd go that route either.
Ryder Lopez
Shouldn't you be off telling Trackforum how road courses suck and full course yellows are the most important part of racing with that inferiority complex
Matthew James
You seem upset about something.
Jordan Perry
He’s right, quit your incessant pissing and moaning about F1. If you didn’t have such an inferiority complex about this then you wouldn’t need to spout shit about it everytime it’s even brought up in passing.
You’re as sensitive as a woman on her fucking period.
Lucas Mitchell

If she can't find a ride, she totally needs to do softcore lesbian/gym porn

Imagine what it’s like for woman drivers to go barren for their career. She still looks pretty good for her age. I’d be okay with actual porn featuring her.
Bentley Stewart
i think she'd be more willing to do girlxgirl stuff
Mexican GP this weekend. It may be worth catching a practice or two in order to get an idea of the track’s layout since Indycar has a prospective race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez for next year. They likely won’t run the exact same corners, but the general shape and straights will probably remain.
Wyatt Gonzalez
I wonder if the FIA would try to block that, or at least makes sure the course is different
Tyler Parker
I don't think that makes any sense.
Luke Scott
>at least makes sure the course is different It'd be nice if this happened, bring back the peraltada
Benjamin Walker
I think it would be in Indycar’s best interest to have it be a different layout. The 2018 aero is probably going to be 1.5s slower than the Manufacturer aero kits due to having 1200lbs less Downforce. In 2014, a F1 car was 2~ seconds faster than the 2015 Chevy aero kit at COTA(reported by Chevrolet as “mid-pack” compared to f1 Qualifying). (1:36~ vs 1:38) In 2017, A F1 car was 5 seconds faster than the 2015 Chevrolet Indycar.
Bearing that in mind, a F1 car would be 6.5-7 seconds a lap faster than the 2018 Indycar(at COTA), even if we account for alternate tires the delta would still be somewhere around 6 seconds.
I think if Indycar eliminates one of the stupid complex of turns, like turns 4, 5, 6, and if possible turns 14 and 15, then I think it’s a better track for it.
I like to call those kinds of tight, short corner to corner sections “F1 Complexes” or “Tilke Complexes”, because there’s almost one at every single modern F1 track. They aren’t interesting to watch, they don’t showcase the cornering speeds, and they prevent drivers from closing up.
Blake Harris
The FIA don’t seem interested in blocking this race or talks wouldn’t be this far along.
Elijah Wood
Isn't 4/5/6 where most of the seating is? If they're expecting much of a turnout (which they'll probably get if they can get seats for the mexican drivers they're courting for the race) they can't cut that. I'd like to see cars go faster through the baseball stadium but I think that section might be like a key branding image now.
They should just run it on the flat oval like proper fucking madmen.
Nathaniel Wilson
Haha, I’d be all for the oval, but it’s simply not safe. No sight lines, no infield area, no SAFER. Just too dangerous.
Building the stadium inside it was such a dumb idea.
Wyatt Reyes
COTA is another track that I’d love to tear some pointless corners out of. Eliminate turns 12-19 and just connect the back straight from turn 11 to turn 20. It would be a really cool, extremely fast track then. Turn 1 has a huge elevation change which is awesome, the entire turns 2-10 is a fast, cool winding, section with a braking zone at the end when you come to turn 11.
In my head, it’s a GOAT track. Lots of opportunity for drafting with a sharp corner at the end.
Grayson Williams
Those in favor say “aye”
James Perez
Remove the runoff while you're at it
Easton Stewart
Just watch NASCAR then, plebeian.
James Sullivan
I don’t follow the logic here.
Do you like Tilkedromes?

Jordan Reed
I only ever really dislike COTA if the last race I watched there was f1. I really like it for MotoGP even if Marquez always wins.
Elijah Hill

Luis Moore
>F1 whiteknight >logic choose one
Jayden Long
13 to 15 is completely worthless but fuck you if you want to remove 16-17-18 and 19 and make the track into literally three hairpins and an esse section.
Nathaniel Cox
I just want a long(LONG) straight. If you want a Carousel place it somewhere else.
Jaxon Kelly
>motorsport.com NASCAR round table >is there too many rules in NASCAR
>when you know it's just going to be them saying PEOPLE ONLY GET MAD WHEN THEIR DRIVER LOSES and THE NFL HAS RULES TOO but still have to make sure in the vain hope that there is some good in humanity
I'd be impressed at NASCAR's ability to control the media if it wasn't such a terrible thing.
Sebastian Long
>watch Phillip Island >amazing race >MARQUEZWINSLOL
What are the chances we get freed from MWL this weekend?
Really happy for Bubba. Hate what happened to him at RFR this year. RPM isn't the best outfit out there, but it's decent. He can prove he's worthy of a seat on a big team in that car.
James Morris
>What are the chances we get freed from MWL this weekend? i think marquez will obviously try to go for the win, but the main thing is to seal the title, so he won't risk as much as last week
if it's a dry race watch out for the yamahas, if it rains is dovi's race to lose
