North by Northwest
Fincher always has the best opening sequences. It's so obvious that he used to direct music videos. His version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo may be a somewhat paint by numbers remake, but this opening still blows my balls off.
Actually anything Saul Bass.
Nocturnal Animals credits are so breathtaking YouTube can't handle it.
Legitimately my least favourite part of the movie. I really enjoy the film and have seen it many times, with different groups of friends too - everyone has found the intro to be terrible and commented so.
Curious, what do you like about it?
I think it's a decent cover of Immigrant Song (even though the original is better) and the bondage imagery perfectly summarizes the themes of the story (women being abused and belittled by men, the original title of the book was "Men Who Hate Women," after all). I simply found the video to be aesthetically appealing and it was very effective on the big screen. I don't blame you and your friends for not enjoying it. I'll admit that it's probably an acquired taste. That goes for both the music and the imagery.

How is this so shitty but so awesome at the same time?
ALONG
Dusty Mason
I found the sonic component quite jarring, despite liking the original track and the material that Karen O, and Atticus Ross + Trent Reznor, have done in the past.
I do agree that the visuals were relevant though.
I'm glad we could disagree but have a civilized conversation. That's a rarity for me.
What is Zach's obsession with religious symbolism?

PURE Kino
Yeah, me too. It's very unusual, online and otherwise.

I don't know, I'm hoping at some point it'll come together in some meaningful way across all of his shit but as far as I can tell it's all completely meaningless
>guys pose like that last supper painting
>why
>because that makes it art
What is wrong with repeating cultural history and applying the themes from it to modern stories?
I interpret this as liek a snuff version of a James Bond opening
More like a more realistic interpretation of James Bond's job, he does rack up a pretty grizzly bodycount
These aren't credits, but I'm going to post the greatest opening sequence of all time
Most kino.
yeah it is amazing, my favourite intro from fincher.
The live action movie is going to butcher this so fucking hard
>The parallel between the helicopter blades/ceiling fan
so good
Fuck you faggot kill yourself
well maybe the social network too, was forgetting how comfy it was.
...
Jesus christ...
why is it so dark? nothing but shadows everywhere, pointless sound effects and additions to the already great original song.
can't say i'm surprised, but damn...
it has such potential to be an amazing scene in cgi too
>50 replies and nobody's posted the OG
Name a movie with a more complex opening.
youtube.com
Protip: You can't.
Also, based fucking Susumu Hirasawa
I love this.
I don't know about complexity, but it's definitely amazing from an artistic pov
The best
...
Not exactly an intro, but the opening scenes of Tropic Thunder had my buddies and I dying.
>that slowed-down fire after a nuclear strike with a sad background music
pure kino
T2 is one of the best.

Definitely the best part of the movie, along with Tom Cruise. The rest was pretty meh.
