I'm cautiously optimistic.
Netflix announces Castlevania miniseries
Name one good vidya miniseries.
Netflix shows are usually either really great or fucking terrible. They'll probably turn Castlevania into gay vampire shit.
So just business as usual since SoTN?
I'm the King of Cautiously Optimistic. That being said, this is probably going to be fucking sweet.
And! If it's fucking sweet, Konami might want to cash in on CastleVania video game rights and I can have new CastleVania games!
Isn't it gonna be animated?
yes
GET READY FOR SOME CASTLEKINO, BOYS.
>Worst Castlevania
You're right because Classicvania>Metroidvania
>The Japanese version of Netflix will have a special chip that allows viewers to hear enhanced versions of the musical score.
I'm cautiously pessimistic.
yes, by Frederator studios
makers of
Adventure Time
The Fairly OddParents
Bravest Warriors
Bee and PuppyCat
Along with the edgy crap the producers have been spouting my expectations are low
...
After the nigger shit from netflix i evpecy nothing
LOOKS LIKE MARROW IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS!
Castlevania is a dead series. It has no audience anymore. Except a bunch of autists in their 30's from /vr/ who don't have any neet bux to spend on this trash.
you stupid cunt
DIE MONSTER!
You take that back!
There will always be an audience for gothic and vampires. This will probably easily draw in a ton of people who have never even heard of Castlevania,
Written by Warren Ellis. I'm sold.
WHAT A HORRIBLE NIGHT TO HAVE A CURSE
yeah that's old news and cancelled , too bad too
As long as they keep it medieval like.
I'm optimistically pessimistic.
He's involved here too. engadget.com
It doesn't sound like it's going to go well.
I read something about it being a "parody on monster tropes" which leads me to belive it will either be an "action comedy" or just a downright "comedy".
Castlevania's plots have always been goofy, but part of the charm of them was that they always took themselves very seriously.
If Netflix shits out some eye-brow-raised Belmont who's dripping with parody and monster-culture references it'll bomb into infinity.
What I advice they do is make one season per game, and try to tell the Belmont bloodline's story as they try to kill Dracula but that motherfucker keeps coming back.
Later they can deal with the mess that is Soma and Alucard and all those guys, if the show hasn't bombed by then.
If they do it right, it CAN become gothic-kino. But based on what little is known I strongly doubt it.
>Netflix announces that they wasted money buying an IP that no one cares about for a franchise so generic no one could even accuse you of theft of you ripped it off
Smart move.
ok, now I'm hype. I'm glad he stuck it out 10 years down the road
I think stopping at SOTN would be the best choice.
With the way Netflix is doing lately, they're very likely to turn Belmont into a nigger. Yeah I can see the story revolving around DeMarcus Belmont.
Also this . The gay vampire trend is in full swing.
/vr/ is still miles better than Sup Forums will ever be
This played in my head when I read this. I hope they make it the theme song, bonus points for leaving it like it is, or using the Genesis theme.
youtube.com
They could easily do that. If anything SOTN could be some Spartacus-like side-season thing.
The problem is that Castlevania has always been a very gothic series, and the word "parody" coming up anywhere in the show's descriptions raises all sorts of red flags for me.
What this show needs is to go grimdark with almost overly dramatic characters and tons of organs playing renditions of in-game songs: youtube.com
It's gonna be based on Castlevania III. So Alucard is most likely gonna be in it.
It was this for me
youtube.com
Will they show him break candles?
Well there's no way they're stopping at Rondo especially if they elaborate Richter's disappearance. I think SOTN would be a cool climax where the son of Dracula fights his father.
For the second time at least.
I don't think it will happen, they won't reference any source material beyond the name Castlevania and a few monsters like the skeleton or fishman and start something different so they can sell licensed games without parting with more cash.
Reminder it's the same producer from Dredd who's a straight edgelord
I miss how this series used to be until Order of Ecclesia. I love both Classicvania and Metroidvania, the new stuff just doesn't do it for me.
>tfw still no megaman cinematic universe
seriously? dredd was great. i trust him with the source material. who cares he's an edgy loser irl.
but dredd was actually breddy gud
>With the way Netflix is doing lately, they're very likely to turn Belmont into a nigger. Yeah I can see the story revolving around DeMarcus Belmont.
This.
I can't wait for for evil white Nazi Dracula.
>I'm a millennial that didn't grow up with Castlevania in the 90's and 00's
Who's the gay one? Alucard? Trevor? Lecarde?
All of them?
>I'm loudly and proudly on the "effing millenials!" Facebook bandwagon
Kys
the netflix Voltron show is pretty entertaining
Not being done by the guy who made Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
What's the fucking point?
Shankar is great matte. Didn't you see his power ranger short film? the whole concept was so fucking good it preemptively ruined any chances for the actual movie of being good.
If we are gonna trust anyone with making real vampires make a come back it's gotta be this guy.
