Who is/was the Led Zeppelin of movies/films?

Tarantino - rips off older, less known stuff, and its popular with kids and plebs

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

No, that's the Reddit of films

>it's not Led Zeppelin, it's reddit
Eeeeehr

Kubrick. Overrated dadcore.

Did he steal his movies though?

>director loved by "wrong generation" manchilds, adults that are jack black's character in school of rock and a few teens discovering rock music
Must be Kubrick

Accurate

This.

kubrick is appreciated by film critics and plebs. the same cannot be said for Zeppelin, which has aged terribly and is just shit dadcore.
The Zeppelin of films is something old that has aged terribly, like Monty Python or Jaws.

No Zeppelin is still being appreciated by critics and music producers, though most of them are getting old.

>that has aged terribly
>like Jaws

>aged horribly but where the shit in their time
>teenage boys masturbate to their prime time and le wrong generation
It's actually every actress ever

This isn't about dadcore but this is a nice point of view.

Which directors stole their movies?

The Fast and the furious = point break

Citizen Kane and 12 Angry Men.

>Zep not appreciated by critics
As much as I dislike Led Zeppelin, this is certainly not true.

Well, Kubrick did a lot of adaptations, don't know if that's "borrowing" material.

Black Swan and Perfect Blue, Inception and Paprika.

Perfect answer

If my friend insisted on going around with his shirt open everywhere we went, I'd take up smoking again just so I could put cigarettes out on his skin.

kekworthy and 100% accurate

>only listened to the first four albums
Looks like you're the real pleb here m8

>still
Shit Cuckpplin was slammed in their time. Critics now praise them cause muh nostalgia an tryhards are the only ones who read their critics

>people listen to it to pretend to be patrician while actually being obvious tryhard plebs and are ennerving when you criticise the opinion they copied from others
Citizen Kane is correct

Jaws didn't age that terribly, it just always was shit.
Monty Python have loads of stuff that still holds up.

>all this hate on Zeppelin and Tarantino

With how contrarian you guys are it amazes me that some of you wonder why you have no relationships

>Jaws didn't age that terribly, it just always was shit.

LMAO

Luc Besson

>Shit Cuckpplin was slammed in their time.
>implying rolling stone didn't eat that shit up
rollingstone.com/music/albumreviews/led-zeppelin-iv-19711223

Citizen Kane-The Residents
12 Angry Men-Wu Tang Clan

He's literally 100% correct. Shit meme movie

>i keep my mouth shut so i could continue hanging around normies and neck with basic bitches
what a life, huh?

>Or realizing that people have different opinions and that reality isn't like my autistic black and white perception

>i suffer through entire discographies of artists i already hate on the off chance they have a decent album
looks like you're the real retard here m8

and this non-argument negates my point how?

nailed it

>muh plagiarism

You're the real kid here, Sup Forums

>dadcoredadcoredadcore
Great, now Sup Forums invaded us along with Sup Forums

>implying zeppelin's plagiarism is a Sup Forums thing
shit's been known before Sup Forums existed

Never said Sup Forums invented it, kiddo

I would say Casino.

why even bother mentioning Sup Forums?

Maybe learn some music history before calling anything plagiarism.

Sup Forums didn't invade shit, it's just that all reasonable people hate niggers

Because Sup Forums loves saying that + dadrock lmao

They literally have been forced to change the writting credits of some songs m8.

Last time I went to Sup Forums, Zep was on their essential classic rock chart. Zeppelin's plagiarism is well known.

And they literally have credited people back then and retards thought they didn't because they credited a family member of the original musician so they would get the royalties

Case in point: When the Levee Breaks, Boogie with Stu

There were also cases when the first pressing of the album had the right credits and later the label took it off.

Nobody mentions that they went to court over Staiway to Heaven ("the biggest case") just a couple of years ago and won

...

Using well known blues and jazz schemes to base a song on, which was how music was made back in the day
>Plagiatism

...

>actually caring who wrote those awful ditties

At least half of the "ripoffs" (and there are only about a dozen that are not madeup bullshit) were based on songs that were ripoffs from other songs already

...

On Sup Forums? There were a lot of threads the day they won it.

That doesn't make it any more acceptable.

The guy everyone knows of but would be hard pressed to make 3 movies they've made?

That is what I'm saying, so you can't call it plagiatism

>doesn't understand the text mark-up used here
You must be new?

...

He was agreeing with you, ya dunce.

I've come accross almost the same amount of ripoffs with Deep Purple songs but nobody ever calls them out

There is more than one user replying to you, y'know?

Finally my webms might be appreciated

...

The thing about Zep is the fact that they were caught on a couple songs (not as much as many people imply), something that quickly builds a reputation among peers.

I think it is something similar to the Patriots, they were caught once filming some teams, but everything they did afterwards was deemed shady despite not doing anything at all.

...

Probably

>implying they didn't nick Jake Holmes' Dazed and Confused and just slapped Jimmy's name on it:

I was kinda disappointed with a lot of the extra stuff from the remastered editions but this is great

> played live show with you
> barely change his words or chords
> still give yourself credit

How did they get away with this?

youtube.com/watch?v=pTsvs-pAGDc

...

technically the Yardbirds ripped it off :^)

>Zeppelin, which has aged terribly
Lol there's people that actually think this. They've probably aged the best out of all the bands of the 70s

This. They were versatile enough to not sound like the same generic dadrock stuff that a lot of 70s sound like

Like Aerosmith

Not that guy, but Zeppelin's production has really aged badly.

No argument from me. LZ4 is shrill as fuck

LZ1's bad quality adds to the blues rock feel tho so that works

On some cases, but overall even that is still better than the original masters of other bands

The difference is that most of the other big bands remastered their tracks a long time ago

>there are people out there who hate Stairway to Heaven
What a sad existence

This.

>be eddie phillips
>be first guitarist to use bowed guitar
>jimmy page nicks it
>says it was all his idea and he made it up himself
>despite the fact he worked as a session musician for your producer
>despite the fact you both played in the same club circuit at the same time
>despite the fact that it's not bloody likely that someone else would come up with that idea out of the blue only a few months after you did it

Jesus

>John Paul Jones

All he arguments I hear against LZ on mu and the Internet are really lame. If you want to dislike them because you don't like them, no biggie. But most reasons are fucking dumb

>they're dadcore
OK cool guess where going to ignore previous generation's stuff because it's old.
>they stole music
They did a lot of covers yes, but they credited the people. Besides, LZ was around when rock had just started. The majority of bands then did blues covers (Beatles, Hendrix, Stones)

If you dislike them because they make a lot of "radio" music or party rock then whatever, that's fine. I personally dislike how much plant says baby.

But you cannot deny their influence and talent. Every member of the band is considered to be the greatest or one of the greatests for their respective skill

Blade Runner

Led Zeppelin weren't as big as dad rock radio makes you want to believe. Three Dog Night sold more albums in the 1970s.

They both existed and were liked, but are now considered amazing.

>tfw the contrarian pendulum has swung back around in led zeppelins favor
I can finally go back to playing stairway unironically lads

He never claimed he came up with the idea, although he may have implied he was the first to use it

>In an interview in ca. 1990, Jimmy Page claimed that using a cello bow on the guitar strings was first suggested to him by session violinist, David McCallum, Sr., father of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. star, David McCallum, Jr.

He has selective memory :)

>Page himself has claimed he didn't meet Eddie Phillips until Jim McCarty's 50th birthday party in 1994.

>shit cuckplin
Even you must be aware of how weak that is

The members were all talented as fuck, that goes without saying

Explique s'il tu plais

>they're dadrock
that's a joke argument m8, remember this is Sup Forums
>they stole music
they did, maybe not in many ocassions, but they actually did

>But you cannot deny their influence and talent.
If people are being serious, I really doubt they deny it.
>Every member of the band is considered to be the greatest or one of the greatests for their respective skill
Come on, now. I know people actually say that about almost every classic rock band member, but that's being hyperbolic.

No, I mean that whenever people in the industry get together to talk about the best guitarist, or the best singer, or the best drummer, members of LZ are always the most mentioned

>best guitarist
>Jimmy Page
*clears throat*

>another "hipsters pretend to dislike led zeppelin and act edgy about it" thread

Forgot I was in mu

It's the same thing, people say the same about Ozzy, Blackmore, Geddy and Moon. You'd be surprised how many people throw Kirk Hammett and Grohl in the mix.

>Ozzy, Blackmore, Geddy and Moon

But that's 4 different bands
Also, Ozzy isn't mentioned that much as a top singer.

There has been an actual good convo about LZ ITT.

That's the point, I was trying to cover as much ground as possible.

>le shirtless sex man
80% of Zeppelin's catalogue is boring garbage and hackneyed blues

>but they credited the people

They didnt. The credits didnt change til after the lawsuits started coming in. They made money on other peoples songs.

Some claims are wrong because they actually credited people And they actually got sued for Boogie with Stu I think, but won because they already paid roaylties for the guy's mom
