As part of the deal we tried to get them to agree to eliminate ALL their uranium enrichment capacity and buy fuel from an external source like Argentina or Russia or France or whoever.
They refused because they want to keep some limited enrichment at least so they can keep most of their infrastructure intact and their scientists employed etc both for nationalistic reasons as a matter of principle ( because they are allowed to do this under the terms of the international treaty for non-proliferation of nuclear weapons) and so they can be a threshold nuclear power like Japan.
Argentina has had a cozy relationship with Iran, helping them evade sanctions and covering up Iranian quds force involvement in a terrorist bombing in Argentina against Jews and assassination of an investigator.
But uninformed plebs will be plebs and turn this non-story into a sensation.
