Ethnically we are classified as "Caucasian" and register in the US census as "white". Indeed many Arabs particularly of northern Iraq and Syria are pale skinned and look whiter than Greeks, Spaniard, and Italians, who are about as dark as Egyptians.

Culturally, if you mean white as in "European", then no we are not white. We don't want to be white. We have our own culture and language separate as that from Europe and we do not identify with Europe or the European notion of "white".

The trouble spot is when many MENA immigrate to the west and assimilate, they become indistinguishable from whites, in some cases becoming stormfags like Jon Jafari.
