The TV series misses the point of the novel. In the novel, Japanese occupation has become normal. People accept it the same way that the Germans and Japanese accepted the post-war status quo in the real world. To feature a resistance movement in the show takes away from that. In the novel, Frink had planned to fight the Japanese using a hidden cache of weapons, but after a few decades of occupation his resolve dissipated and he accepted the new order. This is how many Germans and Japanese responded in the real world. A Japanese businessman, Mr. Tagomi, passes into our own timeline and is shocked by the disrespect shown to him by white Americans. What is shocking for them is normality for us, and vice versa. The TV series does not convey this surreal feeling at all. It's Red Dawn with Nazis. Read the book.

I just dropped it last night after watching seven episodes. I felt like it was way too over the place and the characters were so bland. I love pleb shit like The Wire, Sopranos and Mad Men so I had high hopes for this show. Maybe I'm just a retard but this show didn't work for me.

First season was decent. Second season was COMPLETELY pointless.

If you actually bothered to check a map of the man in the high castle universe, you would notice that the Reich and their colonies are more than half the world.
