To join any of the US military branches you need a visa first, the visa is the hard part and it doesn't apply to all visas.

That's far, but at the same time not too far.
You'll have a good time in both Copenhagen and Stockholm (if you're going), they have amazing architecture, though, the cultural events in Sweden are a bit strange (at least in my opinion).
Is there any reason for visiting beyond just general tourism? There's a lot of nature I'd tell you to go see, but if that's the furthest you're traveling it can be difficult, beyond the south, in which areas near the sea are the best to go visit.
