show was especially trash in the final episode and also that epsisode where they play shirtless volleyball and that episode where they're ghosts and that episode where Trip goes to an alien holodeck and that episode where it's the wild west but shittier than the TOS episode or the Data TNG episode

It's a show called the Expanse on SyFy channel...it's based on a kick ass series of books.. good characters, and an actual real plot

Really though ENT was better than VOY by virtue of having more likeable characters and not squandering the premise as horribly as VOY did (but still did a good job of making everything terrible)

Making your name with a few gold nuggets after 40 years of episodes and movies, isn't the mark of a good show. a few gold nuggets from a show that's only been one for 1 year (not even) is amazing

Trek is 51 years old. let's see who remembers The Expanse in 50 odd years from now. Trek will be 100 years old and it'll still be talked about.

I fully expect to see The Expanse: The Next Deep Space Generation of Enterprising Voyagers in a few years after the main show wneds

Wait what? Can anyone else confirm that this show is actually good? I only watched part of the first episode and got turned off by the unnatural acting/dialogue and shitty production values. Should I give it another chance?

It's ok, but don't be fooled by anyone. It's a dumb as rocks show.

I kind of gave up half way through the first season. The writing takes a serious drop around that point and the characters become really annoying and two demensional. Does it get better again?

Honestly it's great. Best /scifi/ show since DS9.

But muh post-DS9 Farscape and BSG.

It get's worse. Put it this way. The story of the main cast is....

BSG was good for 2 seasons exactly and anyway it was a tad overrated, kind of became a vaguely plot of the week show. Farscape was a fine and fun adventure but no great.

After watching the first season of DS9 I'm almost positive the only good iteration of star trek is TNG.

Did you reach the end of DS9 season 1? What did you think of its last two episodes?

DS9 gets much better. I almost quit after the first season and a half but now I've watched the entire series multiple times.

TNG's first 2 seasons were so much worse.
