DEVELOPMENTS JULY 1 >Jihadists execute captured pilot >Assad says Western countries secretly dealing with his government >Rebels capture Kinsibba in Lattakia province >Syrian Army launches a new offensive in eastern Ghouta >Syrian Army presses Darayya offensive as rebels refuse to surrender >Islamist rebels walk directly into Tiger Forces trap in northern Aleppo July 2 >reports that ISIS captured Awn-dadat north of Manbij, which would be huge but this is unconfirmed no kurdish sources confirming >some reports that ISIS advanced out of Manbij to the east and captured a village, which may as well be bullshit since usually when ISIS actually does something they love to take pictures of it, but no proof as of yet. >SAA continues their offensive in the mallah farms with reported gains in the south >Reports that YPG captures the southern part of the Al-Hazwanah neighborhood of Manbij
First for lets hope Latakia counter-offensive is succesfull

ISIS is more or less finished. It will soon become an insurgency.
Assad's only worry now are the beheaders, and it would appear that after Russia's MoD visit the SAA has got the right idea. They appear to be trying to close pockets like Homs/Damascus and they are finally moving on Aleppo.
With any luck Turkey has decided to cut ties with the beheaders in exchange for assurances that the Kurds won't gain independence.
/r/ing some sources on the origin of the Syrian revolution/FSA please. Specifically what factions were originally involved in the armed opposition and at what time the beheaders became dominant.

>IS retaking some clay They got BTFO'ed in Fallujah, Rutba, and now can barely counter attack Manbij.

Yeah.. SAA had a nice thing going capturing Huwaysis and Arak, around Palmyra
I hope when one of the current offensives are done or grind to a halt (maybe Darayya, Latakia or north of Aleppo) theyll send some proper troops there to restore the situation, maybe even try for Sukhnah

Yeah, thats the current map. The syrian army is losing in Latakia, winning in North Aleppo and Ghouta. Rest of the fronts with the rebels are almost static.

>An Indian air force Sukhoi Su-30 MKI aircraft has carried a BrahMos supersonic cruise missile aloft for the first time, a key milestone toward the eventual deployment of the capability.
>The twin-seat aircraft carried the 2,500kg missile during a 45 minute sortie from the Hindustan Aeronautics airport in Bengaluru, said the Indian aerospace firm in a statement.
>The aircraft is the first of two Su-30 MKIs to be modified to test the missile, says HAL. Eventually, 40 air force Su-30s will be equipped to carry the missile.
>Developed locally in India, the BrahMos missile has an active radar seeker and can achieve speeds of up to Mach three. It is powered by two stages: a solid propellant booster takes the missile to supersonic speeds, at which point a ramjet takes over.
>The missile can be launched from land, sea, and air. The air-launched version has larger fins to help stability when separating from an aircraft.
>It has a published range of 290km. The missile has a 200-300kg warhead, with its lethality enhanced by the missile’s high velocity.
>BrahMos Aerospace CEO & MD Sudhir Mishra said, “This is the most important step in the direction to giving the IAF incredible offensive capability on its frontline fighter aircraft.”
>Mishra added that no country in the world has a missile system, the likes of BrahMos, integrated on its frontline fighter jets.
