Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: DiU movie by Takashi Miike

So, is it going to tank?

Every jap live action is a cringefest. These subhumans are too autistic to acti naturally

>Anime/manga adaptation by Miike
No thanks.

Shut up pleb.

I'm hoping that it will be so crazy and over the top that it will end up being entertaining.
Jojo is a batshit crazy setting, and looking at the costumes and knowing that Its Takashi Miike gives me some hope.

But Its probably not going to push it far enough and end up being cringy af

Who cares? Tojo can't make movies worth shit anymore.

At least they had the decency to pick the only part that features only japs, instead of casting japs to play europeans like in SnK or Terraformars

>cast a girl
>call it a boy
What did the japs mean by this?

>anime

yes

the wiki says they're going to use actors of the appropriate race. So Tonio's going to be italian, and Joseph is going to be played by an american, I guess

I am dissapoint that Josuke and Jotaro are not hafu tough
At least they don't look like it

>Your Name.
>Too Young to Die
>Our Little Sister
APOLOGISE

yeah Kento Yamazaki like a literal baby. I am dissapointed. Josuke is supposed to look a lot more edgy. He needs dat caucasian chin.

Looks alright

If they wanted to appeal to the West, they should've done part 3, where a brit, a jap, a racemixed jap, a nigger muslim, and a frenchie travel across the world to kill a blonde white man

Stardust Crusaders > DiU

oh mama

...

Nobody is nearly buff enough
Best pick was the guy that plays Jotaro

>Nobody is nearly buff enough

Part 4 is when the buffening began to stop though

yeah, also beacause they are middle schoolers I guess. But the actors still look kinda noodly and high in body fat compared to the manga.

Considering the only actors they've announced are ones from early in the part I have to assume they're not gonna do the whole thing in one film. With that in mind this one will probably end with RHCP, so they could do two more films essentially following the same schedule as the cours of the anime.

Part 1: beginning to RHCP
Part 2: baby adventures to Sheer Heart Attack
Part 3: Atom Heart Father to end

That dude looks like Ryuga from Garo

I'm trying to imagine how Highway Star is going to look and it's not great.

>live-action Heaven's Door turning people into books

> life-action crazy diamond
god help us

Just why didn't they take Eiji Wentz to play Josuke? He looks just like him. He has the lips and the chiseled chin and he's half European which is accurate. What a waste.

Man, I hope the film gets the poses right
Really, if it just has the bomb ass Jojo visuals and the soundtrack down, I'll probably enjoy it even if most everything else is shit

Reminder that trailer today

Oh god...

You mean tomorrow

It's almost tomorrow in nipland

Aren't live action anime adaptations always garbage ?

I don't have high hopes for this

>No Jotaro photo yet

Saving the most iconic for last

>No thanks

Why? I haven't seen it but I've always heard his Phoenix wright movie was really good.

Never saw Phoenix Wright, but I have seen plenty of his other adaptations and they're terrible.

>Takashi Miike
Damn
There is actually chance there will be something good coming out of all this jojo bullshit other than part 7

Idiot

what, there's a trailer coming out?

check them digits my retarded jojofriend
they dont' lie

What beautiful dub-wangs

I never got super into Jojo, but part of the charm is the over the top aesthetics and greek like love of male beauty. It would be awesome to see a movie like this, but I feel like the natural instinct for japs would be just to literally cosplay the weird fashion when it won't be so uncomfortably beautiful on screen. Just weird and silly.

It'd be amazing to see an adaption more done in the style of Tarsem Singh. Unrealistic but pretty cinematography colors. Dreamy characters. Shirtless dudes. etc.

JoJo Great Festival is today in Japan, there's prolly gonna be a trailer

...

>the weird fashion
Araki is a huge fucking fashion nerd, ton of the outfits are actual runway designer outfits, and other than that there are thousands of references in the manga ranging from names of the characters (annasui) to fucking hairdos taken straight from some of the most legendary fashion shows, like Jolynes.

has there ever been a western movie where the fight scenes are in the tactical style of jojo and other animus? It would be so fucking weird to see in live action, the very style is based on internal monologue and weird flow of time.

I would dig that too. Looking at the costumes and especially the wigs, I instantly got a bad feeling. Jojo could be very cool if done right tough.
Lets see how it goes, maybe a miracle happens and te movie does the rest right somehow

>Miike
>tank

Why would anyone give a fuck about commercial success in the context of a Miike movie?

Are you retarded?

>No thanks.
Stay pleb.

i dont understand how people look at these characters with those dumb outfits and GIANT wigs/haircuts and think they look fine. Can you seriously imagine someone being cool while looking like that? I can't

>Can you seriously imagine someone being cool while looking like that?

This is the same culture that thinks pompadours are badass

>ripped dude comes into work with ridiculous haircut
>you laugh at him
>he kicks your ass
>everyone afraid of him
>forced to accept the way he looks
>way he looks gradually becomes cool

it works in a world where everybody's hair looks ridiculous

>Modern Miike isn't pleb
Fuck off.

>hair looks ridiculous

HEY SENIOR

...

what I am worried about is how they will do the Stands. It will need a LOT of CGI.
They should've done part 1 instead.

>josuke is supposed to be half japanese and half white
>make the actor a full-blooded japanese
What did they mean by this?

Josuke's haircut is specificallly supposed to be dated and not cool, which causes several people to insult him and this happens That's the joke.

He got Joseph's height and his mom's sexy body

>high schoolers
FTFY

> CGI
> Not painted bodybuilders

Phoenix Wright movie is actually pretty good, though its a bit too long imo, but definately worth a watch if you know the games, but i watched it with people who have never heard of the games and they enjoyed it too

the Yakuza movie on the other hand.......just pretend it doesnt exist

I think this could be interesting desu.

Takashi Miike churns out movies like a madman, and while he occasionally makes a good one they're usually duds.

>79550216

yeah, they need more mumbling and wistful gazing in their movies. get a sense of humour. JoJo isn't meant to be serious.

why even do this if the anime came out last year?

Alright. Josuke is supposed to look stupid, though this is a fatter, shorter an stupier looking version that I can't really take seriously.
But look at Okuyasu, his hair is supposed to be very short but for some reason they got him a giant wig like an extremely wide mohawk. What is with Japan's obsession with big hair?

the Manga came out literally 25 years ago

Okuyasus hair looks stupid, I give you that. It looks like he had a book on his head and I'm sure the lock on his back is photoshopped.

Just standing alone in a poster it looks dumb af but hopefully in the movie everything will have that modified look, so it will be passable as style.

anime is fucking gay

underrated

*this* anime is fucking gay user :3

...

IS THAT A MOTHERFUCKING JOJO REFERENCE?

...

>calling other people subhuman when they can't even spell

It's not meant to be LOL WACKY too. Araki's greatest strength as a writer is never going too far, he always maintains the sense of realism even when the weirdest shit starts to happen
