LOGAN Spoilers

From the premiere at the Berlin Film Festival. Could it be capekino?

In 2029, mutants are on the brink of extinction due to a virus created by a government program called "Transigen". Logan and Charles Xavier are living in the Mexican border, where Logan is working as a chaffeur and caring for an ailing Xavier, who is suffering from a degenerative brain disease which induces seizures that disrupt Xavier's powers. In one such incident, Xavier telepathically killed the X-Men and numerous innocents and had to flee the country.

Logan himself is slowly dying from Adamantium poisoning after the virus severely weakened his healing factor, and all he wants is buy a sailboat so Xavier and him can spend their remaining days away from civilization. Logan believes them to be the last mutants, but Xavier has been having visions of a young girl. Logan is helped by a tracker, Caliban.

One day, Logan is approached by a woman, Gabriella, who is being hunted by the government and wants Logan to escort her and her daughter Laura to the Canadian border. Logan refuses, and Gabriella ends up dead, so he takes Laura back to his hideout, but they are followed by Donald Pierce and the Reavers, cybernatically-enhanced mercenaries working for Transigen who want Laura back. Xavier realizes she's the girl he's been dreaming about and convinces Logan to protect her. Laura turns out to have similar powers to Logan and the trio goes on the run, while Caliban is captured by Pierce and forced to track them.

Logan and Xavier find out Laura is Logan's daughter, born from genetic material that Transigen retrieved from the Weapon X Program that was artificially inseminated on Gabriella; and that Gabriella and Laura were searching for Eden, a fabled safe haven for mutants that Logan doesn't believe exists. Xavier persuades him that they need to take Laura to the border.

After escaping from the Reavers in Las Vegas, Logan, Laura and Xavier take shelter with the Munsons, a kindly family that's being run out of their property by inescrupulous land developers. Meanwhile, Transigent director Zander Rice deploys X-24, a clone of Logan, to retrieve Laura.

Logan helps the Munsons fend off the land developers and they find a semblance of peace until X-24 attacks and kills the Munsons as well as mortally wounding Xavier, while Logan and Laura escape. After burying Xavier, they eventually reach Eden, where a group of mutant children born about the outbreak are being protected.

Rice, Pierce and their men attack Eden hellbent on capturing Laura and the young mutants. Caliban sacrifices himself to hold them off, and Logan is given an injection that boosts his healing factor enough for him to attack and slaughter all the Reavers and Pierce, while Laura kills Rice and retrieves an Adamantium bullet that Rice kept to dispose off of X-24 should he go rogue.

Logan battles X-24 and manages to injure him long enough for Laura to shoot him dead with the Adamantium bullet. Logan is impaled on a tree stump in the process and dies in Laura's arms. She buries him in a makeshift grave and, before leaving to rejoin the children of Eden, she tips the cross marking Logan's grave to form an "X".

Who plays Xavier

Ewan McGregor.

>Xavier killed the X-men
>not Wolverine while under Mysterio's control

DROPPED

Before I read these, someone tell me if it's worth it

It's great.

It is capekino.

Just read, seems mediocre. I give it 7.1, and that's being more than fair.

>mediocre
>7.1

A FUCKING TREE

I use the inflated common metric of the day.

But does he dawn the iconic yellow suit?

Do we get a sense of ending for the old mutants like Jean & Hank?

>bred daughter with human mother from saved DNA
>exact same power suite as her father
>this movie

maybe he was vampire-wolverine, and thus was killed when a branch impaled his heart like a stake

They already said he was NEVER going to wear it.

There has never been a good X-Men universe movie.

Never.

x24 is a guy
waaaaaat

HOYPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
;_;

>It's another mutants genocided by the government episode
Just reboot the fucking series already

i can tell you know what you are talking about friendo

So where do they go from here? I don't care, I'm just curious. I'll probably go see this one though

Nowhere. This is the end for Logan.

As for the franchise, it'll keep going. Now that they've pretty much embraced that they're playing loose with actual continuity we're getting the mainline X-Men movies set in the 90's as well as the Deadpool movies set on present day of what is assumed to be a parallel universe and then there's the Gambit and New Mutants movies who are shaping up to be standalones as well.

>what is X-2

Wolverine CAN'T kill half the X-men as literally is impossible for him to do it
His claws do nothing on Colossus
Iceman is immortal
Kitty can't be killed by touched by Logan unless she wants to be touched
Etc
Old Man Logan got literally everything wrong, but that's what you get from half the comic writers, they don't read comics and don't know half the powers of the people they're writing

Xavier makes way more sense

So have they just abandoned any semblance of continuity for cool action set pieces?

>in the comics x-23 was a female clone because everytime they tried to make a clone it endeded a failure due the DNA sample being damage so they had to use female as default
>Movie has a male clone
Why do you want to retrieve a girl clone if you already have an operative adult clone that obeys you?

Yes, they already said that this movie has nothing to do with the rest, is a different timeline than all the others.

where'd they say that you fucking liar

Google it, you retarded inbred faggot.

In an "interview" "somewhere".

So it's a lie then

I read that x-24 doesn't die and Logan's mind is implanted into it. Yes/no?

It was confirmed continuity from end of days of future past fuck wit

>"When you see the full movie you’ll understand. Not only is it different in terms of timeline and tone, it’s a slightly different universe. It’s actually a different paradigm and that will become clear." Huge Jackedman

>listening to a dude who knows nothing about the movie

You are painfully wrong about pretty much everything except maybe iceman,

t....the patriarchy?

...

That doesn't even make sense. It's adamantium versus biometal.

Wolverine was h-holding back

Adamantium might cut everything, but you still need to put enough strenght to do it, and Wolverine is not strong enough to cut colossus's skin

Longshot was in there, and Longshot literally has the universe backing him up, he's the luckiest mofo in all the universes. Old Man Logan is pure bullshit.

If I give you an axe would you be able to cut a 6 meter thick sequoia in one swing? or would you be only able to scratch it at best?

Take into account Steel >>>>>>>>>>> Wood

mind fukkkken blown

10 second post credits scene is Logan's fist with claws out bursting through the ground of his grave

It's a pretty big fucking cliché, but I loved it.

No.

back in my day, adamantium was able to cut through anything because it was infinity sharp and insanely dense, kind of like Marvel comics writers after the year 2000.

So did they have to call her X-24 because of some copyright issue or what?

So, in your example, I would be able to with an ax of those properties because the fucking wood wouldn't be able to slow the blade down as it fell.

x-23 is the little gurl
x-24 is the male clone

My only question is this: is 'Logan' for sure in the same continuity as the other X-Men movies, or is it a multiverse thing? That would seem pretty bullshit if it's in the same canon since they've saved the world so fucking many times in the other movies but they all get killed by Xavier anyway.

checked

so this is like that shitty Resident Evil movie with the tanker?

it's deliberately ambiguous so they could do what they wanted. pretty much in it's own continuity unless they change this with a future film

Seems mediocre, but i choose that over LE QUIPS every day.

>back in my day
You never read a comic it seems

LOGAN is ostensible in the same continuity as the "good end" from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. However, there are no direct references to past movies, and at one point there's a vague implication that the events of the previous movies as we know it are a slightly romantized version of what truly happened much like the X-Men comic books that Laura carries around.

So most of the stuff from the previous movies technically still happened but not as we think.

Onslaught?

I'm not familiar with the comics. I'd image they'd send Laura back to the JLaw-verse if anything.

>DoFP ends with an idealized world where mutants are accepted and technology is massively accelerated, making life better for everyone
>almost all the mutants get killed and we end up in an anti-mutant dystopia anyway

Wow, it really is like the comic books.

X-2 turns to shit when you go back to it Because Wolverine shit everything hes in.

>mfw kitty & iceman died for nothing

>virus
would've been better if the mutants were just anomalies and they were never meant to be the future. just a genetic mistake, a speed bump in the evolutionary scale.

Sounds like a rehash of X3 with an edgy twist. Why the fuck are you hyped for this again?

>she tips the cross marking Logan's grave to form an "X".

does he wear the suit and mask, finally?

Obviously not. He wears civvies for the whole film.

How the fuck does this sound like X3? Or maybe I missed all the post apocalyptic undertones the last time I watched it.

Fucking idiot.

Hugh already said Logan set set in an alternate universe.

I don't believe you

>she tips the cross marking Logan's grave to form an "X"

absolute cringe

didn't read the entire spoiler, but he probably means the "humans make mutant 'cure'" part.

but it fits?

>future dystopia (for mutants)
>man and woman fleeing to promised land

they should have named the movie...

Logan's Run

he tweeted that picture of it, though, sooo. maybe

>Laura, make sure the symbol on my grave is the mark of those militant separatists that I used to work with and whom you barely know anything about

She idolizes the X-Men from the comics her mother gave her.

having a hot sexy girl version of wolverine can get away with a lot more. especially espionage, hiding in plain sight, seducing men and shit.

So no one else has her?

So it's like that guy who was buried with all his Sonic the Hedgehog memorabilia.

No spoilers, just want to know

Berserker mode or not?

Yep

>implying the X-men need a reboot

They need to do something to keep the rights user, so it's inevitable

I can already hear him saying
>One last ride, for the old times...
While he starts putting on the suit

hope we get karl urban in the marvel universe as wolverine!!!

Who plays x-24?

Hugh Jackman

I STOLE A LOAF OF BREEEEAD

Underrated post

>Wolverine sends Xavier an email detailing his entire life story
Damn bros. Truly this is capekino. How can DC even compete

X-zibit's daughter

how the hell is iceman immortal???????

kek

Iceman is an Omega level mutant.

as long as there's H2O near he can't die, and by near I mean in the distance of a solar system. He's also an Omega level Mutant, more powerful than Magneto, he could freeze the Sun if he wanted.

Saw the movie. Can confirm It's bullshit, there is none. Would detract from the ending of the movie, frankly.

There was a comic where a villain superheated him into vapor, next issue when he condensed into moisture he reformed

>Hugh Jackman will never
>ever
>EVER
>wear that fucking suit

Feels fucking good man
