There are lots of shitty scenes in the Hobbit trilogy. After being made fun of for some really bad CGI of Legolas flipping himself on to a horse Jackson should have known better. He amplified all the worst qualities of the original trilogy.

It works because elves don't weight anything. This is established in Fellowship when they're climbing that mountain and everyone is knee deep in snow except for Legolas walking on top of it.

So I watched this movie for the first time last night
It was pretty good and comfy, but I think I would love every single bit of this movie if I've seen it in the age of 10.
