What is the appeal of drive in cinema?

What is the appeal of drive in cinema?

You don't even have to leave your car.
Minimal effort.

not even close.

THINGS MILLENNIALS WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND.

lol

You get your own private booth, and it feels unique. I remember packing bags of pop corn and fold out chairs in my trunk. Even in the winter time you and your friends could bundle underneath the blankets you brought.

no having to deal with people who use phones during the movie
no one will be bothered if you use phone during the movie
you can bring food as much as your car can carry
can piss in bottles during the movie
can masturbate during the movie

sex

A place near me shows three movies for like 8 bucks. That's less than every other theater in the area. They show classic films sometimes too. I saw Vertigo there.

Gosling, motel scene, synth, jacket, mask

what kind of white trash horse shit is this

this

>Has sex instead of watching a movie
>Pays to not see a movie

Fuckign normie cancer i sweart to christ

a place were you could get privacy and fuck your girlfriend in 1956 when every was super christian

Where does the sound come from?

For a phone zombie who's "social skills" is shit-talking through texts: none.

sex, you fucking autist

Your car stereo on a short-range radio station.

Depends, some theaters have speakers next to every parking space, and others have the audio broadcast and you tune in on your car radio.

Or the old style ones where you have a speaker in your window

You can make out with your girl. How do you guys not know this.

farting loudly

>comfortable seats
>can bring your own crab legs
>if you want to hit up the snack bar you don't have to miss any of the movie
>if you park in the right spot you can even take a leak in the woods while still being able to see the screen
>people talking loudly or using their phones are less of a problem

>millenial guys

They're too busy texting how much they hate Trump for kicking out Mexicans while their girlfriends are getting blacked.

But wait, blacks are millennial guys too. Are you saying that blacks get cucked by other blacks? How deep does this go?

Privacy, enjoying the summer weather, comfort. Plus it's more of an event than a normal movie. You show up early for a drive-in. Chit chat with people. Kids might toss a ball. Adults have a few beers. If you're on a date you can fool around without everyone seeing you. Being outside on a nice summer night. Crickets and frogs in the background. Lightning bugs everywhere when the sun goes down.

>things yuropoor will never understand

first world college hipster mulattos get cucked by bbc tyrones

Drive-ins are very American. Like drive-in restaurants. From a time when we were building massive highways and big ass cars.

this this

heated, private cinema cubicle. Sound broadcast over car radio, so completely immersive.

what is obesity

You can go there alone.

Jokes

This post sums it up really well. My family used to own a drive in and it is such a great experience to watch movies like this.

I'm a millenial and I've been to a drive in like a dozen times

handjobs

I'm think they're shit unless you're watching a film with poor production value or something old. Back in the day it was a place for conservative teenagers/young adults to escape the judgemental community/family and spend time together. This was when we had shitty speakers and fm radio, so the sound would've been fucking awful and the picture quality, well that didn't matter.

I think they're a waste now. Prove me wrong.

You sound really underage and come off as a very crude person. Prove me wrong.

I saw Twister at a drive in and it was great. You've been proven wrong.

Handjobs

Jughead fucking lives there. Now he's homeless you asshole.

you can cut out for a smoke without missing any of the movie

I saw Jumanji when it came out and it was shit.

Also in what scenario would watching a film in your beat the experience in a cinema. I can't think of how that would make the experience better unless you wanted to socialise as well, then I would go for it. It's fucking boring, who would do that on their own?

Seems like it would be tough to see the screen properly without leaning forward.

Thanks for reminding me OP there's a drive in on the other side of the river that I haven't been to in over a decade. I hope it's still there, looking forward to it during springtime.

/thread

wont my accumulator empty up?

There's one near me in front of some hills

>climb hills on the last Friday and Saturday night of every month
>bring binoculars and laser pen
>find the Chad and his date
>wait till he's about to get to 2nd base
>shine laser in girls eye
>she freaks out
>no more making out
>they drive away
>I can see he is physically red with anger
>so sex for you cuck

Watch a movie with your Doggo

so i have to waste my own gas just to watch a movie?

>From a time when we were building massive highways and big ass cars.

That time is still happening right now. In fact, we're constantly building even more massive highways and even bigger cars.

fukt up if tru

You're a fucking idiot. Prove me wrong

I know this isn't a real story but christ I wish it was. I can totally see some glue huffing neckbeard doing this

Just turn the car to accessory mode, numbnuts.

you have to turn your car on to use its radio?

i'm opposed to everything designed for sexually active teenagers because i missed out on it

virgin detected

Its a thing for normies to make-out with girls and stuff, you know the kind of things autist cellar creepers that dwell here wouldn't understand.

That's what I love about high school girls man ...

You and your lady can get a sody pop and she can give you head in your car

what's not to love?

Also it's 1950s America

I like it because its more social. It is also cheaper. At our Drive in its by the car and two movies back to back with a 15 min break. The food is good and cheap, beer is decent and readily available. We throw some blankets and pillows in teh back of the pick up and lay under teh stars and watch movies. We can talk, bullshit, kids can play (ours actually has an arcade and bouncy house thing under teh screen) and do whatever if htey don't want to watch the flick.

Honestly it's pretty fucking rad. Going to a legit theater has its bonuses like sound and complete silence, but overall I much more enjoy going to the drive in.
