Manchester by the sea

Just saw pic related yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Can anyone recommend me some more /depressioncore/.

five easy pieces

I just watched this too and really liked it. Thanks Sup Forums you were right this time.

From the picture i thought this was going to be a relationship drama or something. I'm glad it took another turn

If you haven't seen it yet you should watch pic related. Casey Affleck really is a god-tier actor and it might be Brad Pitt's best role as well. The cinematography is done by Roger Deakins and is some of his best work.

>From the picture i thought this was going to be a relationship drama or something. I'm glad it took another turn
Thought so as well. My girlfriend made me watch it with her and I expected the worst. The acting was really well, its emotional enough but not over the top "I'm acting" shit. I hope he wins the oscar.

Fat city had the same type of hopeless feel this movie had.

And so did inside Lewwyn Davis.

i wish i had oscar issac's hair desu

Already seen this, probably one of my favorit films.
Will watch, thanks anons.

>I'm 15 years old and just watched my first super sad movie, it was really good and i feel like i can relate because i get realy sad too sometimes when i get a bad grade in school. does any other sad movies exist?

Not really /depressioncore/ but Casey Affleck's character reminded me a bit of Ben Stiller in this movie.

Paris, Texas
Adaptation (sort of)
Synecdoche, New York

maybe Dear Zachary if you want a documentary

seconding these too

>Paris, Texas
>Adaptation (sort of)
>Dear Zachary
Seen these and loved all of them.
>Synecdoche, New York
Seen this as well and didn't really like it. Some parts were good but most of it just felt pretentious. It gave me the feeling that Charlie Kaufmann has gone way too deep up his own ass.

Thanks for your great contribution to this thread user. Please enlighten us with your superior tastes.

Thanks, I do my best.

Pic related would be actual quality "depressioncore"

This is the only flick that ever made me cry.

I'll give it a watch some time this week.
Seen it, pretty sad desu.
This should really be updated a lot of these aren't really /depressioncore/ (no country for old men for example).

Is that films with depressed characters, or just depressing films?

In either case: The Ice Storm (1997) is amazing.

You should watch these

Seconding Oslo, August 31st, great film

Then let me add:
It's Such a Beautiful Day (2012)
The Road (2009)
The End of the Tour (2015)
Dead Man Walking (1995)
Leaving Las Vegas (1995)

>It's Such a Beautiful Day (2012)

This movie is called: if cats disappeared from the world. You will cry.

I've actually seen this recently. Very melancholic, nearly cried at that scene on the beach when the father is taking the photo.

where is melancholia(kino)?

2nd row from the bottom, 4th from the right.
